Hi everyone,
Has anyone been watching the Olympics? This morning, women's weight lifting was on (not sure if that's the correct title). These 115 lb-ish women were lifting at least twice their body weight over their heads! Although I definitely admire them for their hard work, training, strength, etc., what struck me was how dangerous the "clean and jerk" looked. Of course, they know what they are doing and how to avoid injury. However, each time they lifted, I got nervous that their arms were going to like snap off. The way their wrists and arms are positioned at the top of the lift seems so unnatural. It's a little unnerving also when they drop the weight behind them and it bounces so high!
What's everyone's favorite to watch? I'm really enjoying diving and swimming these days. I like that at the bottom of the pool, when the race begins, that the swimmer's name is (I assume electronically)projected. Is this something new?
