Hope everyone had a great weekend. I attempted to get in some of the 1RM's for STS. Basically, I just watched disc one and tried to do the 1RM at that time. There are so many exercises in that book until it makes me not want to do the 1RM. I am really trying to decide. I must say that I was so impress with STS set up and introduction as the workout came on. It is motivating itself!

This morning was Intensity (no premix) to get a feel for the original workout itself. Loved it! I was so happy to see the HiitLo. I thought I was going to have to stop and then she introduced that segment and that is like a cool down compared to the first Hiit! WHEW!

Congratulations to the GreenBay Packers:D I guess you ladies are gearing up for one awesome superbowl party!

What a great game! :D Dang I was a quite nervous at the end, but they pulled it off.

Let me see, I got the STS workout done on Friday, Ilaria's Bodystrikes on Saturday and One on One Fountian of Youth on Sunday. We had 6 teenagers in the house on Saturday evening, and I didn't sleep all that well that night. Dang are those girls loud! :eek: I didn't do a workout this morning, just decided that sleep was much better. ;) After work is Disc 33 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps.

heartymax, The whole state is going to be going Packer crazy! I don't think it will be any different for Pittsburg fans. :D I suggest just doing the 1RM's for the exercises that have 3-4 stars. That is what I did, and it worked great.

Heartymax - I'm not doing the 1 rep max because I know if I decide to do that I'll either probably never finish and subsequently put off STS indefinitely. I may change my mind once I start but I doubt it.

Laurie - I was nervous at the end, too! Thank goodness for that interception. Dang on not sleeping well due to noisy girls! At least it was just for 1 night. What do I do about a DH that snores?! I slept on the couch last night because DH wouldn't stop no matter how many times I nudged, pushed and shook him. . . :(

Hi Susan, Karen and Lala!

Had a great time watching the Packers at Buffalo Wild Wings. We only stayed for the first half and then watched the rest at home. DH didn't want to hog a table and just sit and drink soda since we finished our food. Now on to the Superbowl! This will be the first Packers SB my kids remember since DD was not quite 2 and I was pregnant with DS in 1997. DH is already working on his SB questionnaire (e.g. How many times will Brett Favre's name be mentioned during the game)

Saturday was just lazy, lazy, lazy. I shoveled and did laundry but that was about it. We rented "Salt" and watched that Saturday night. Yesterday I did NMTZ. Tonight I plan on taking a day off the Jillian rotation and doing a fun cardio. It's supposed to be a rest day but I had a couple of those already this week and I need a break from Jillian.

Hi Gang! Let's see, Saturday I just squeezed in some Pilates. DS's B-ball tourney took longer than I expected and we were not home until 5pm.:( Sunday I went on the elliptical for the first hour of the game. I did the "Sports Training" program cause I thought that was appropriate while I watched the game!:) I ended up going 7.2 miles. Then I did some ab work. Today I did P90x PlyoX. Have not done that one in a while and I really missed it! I'll be doing Maximum Burn Pilates (20mn) later.

I LOVE Them Packers! :eek: I was not nervous through out the entire game. DH is not a Packer fan, (as long as McCarthy is the coach), so he tried to give me a hard time. Didn't work! They will have a tough fight against the Steelers but they are favored to win... Should be a fun couple weeks!

Heartymax, good luck getting though all the 1RM's!Glad you likeda ll of Intensity!

Laurie, 6 teen girls?? YIKES! That sounds like one of my worst nightmare! Hope you are more rested today.

Sue, What fun cardio did you choose today? I told DH we must stay home and watch the Super Bowl. I do not like any distractions while watching my football! He can go to his friends but I am staying here!

Susan - You're so funny! :) "No distractions while watching my football. . ." I think DH would die if I said that. I've never been a big football fan so he's just thankful I'm showing interest.

Forgot to mention that I'm related to the Steelers punter - Sepulveda. He's my first cousin's son. So is that my 2nd cousin?? I don't know. My cousin has 4 boys and they all play(ed) football. I think all of them went to Baylor, too. I've never met the boys because they live in Texas but my cousin came up with her mom (my dad's sister) when my dad was sick right before he passed. That's the last time I saw her (in 2003).

Regardless, I'm still cheering for the Packers! Sorry, Cuz.
 
Good Morning Ladies. Today was STS Back and Triceps. I am using this week to gauge how much weight I can lift....doing a few of the 1RMs. I also did Jillians 30 day shred for added on 20 minutes.

Sue----I plan to start STS on Monday. I am doing bits and pieces of the workouts this week just to get a feel for where I need to start. I think I am going to just push myself harder through this series and force myself to lift heavier for some of the exercises.

Susan-----how awesome to get in your workout and watch your sports at the same time. Most people would choose "couch potato" mode...Not you!!!

Laurie---I can't imagine a house full of teenage girls...What a great mom----I am sure they will always remember that.
 
Morning Ladies,

My weight workout didn't get done last night, just way to many errands last night, and then I came home to no one having put the dishes in the dishwasher. They where home all day! :rolleyes: This morning was Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, and I will get that weight workout done after work tonight. ;)

Sue, DH has recently gotten better with his snoring, and I think it is because he got a new pillow. He sleeps with two pillows, but the new one has brought the angle of his head up. I also make him start sleeping with his face away from me, that way I don't have it directly in my ear. He usually can fall asleep a lot faster than I can.

Susan, My dog doesn't like it when I get noisy during the games. She gets in my face, probably thinks my bp is getting way to hight. :D WTG on the workouts.

heartymax, STS starting Monday, that is great. ;) I just finished 4 weeks of 16, and it has been great. I'm going to bet you are going to enjoy the workouts.

Heartymax - Part of me wants to quit my Jillian rotation and start STS on Monday with you! I think I'll stick it out though and finish my rotation. You can give me a heads up on what to expect - although I think I already know what that is (DOMS and more DOMS) ;)

Laurie - What?? Teenagers didn't put dishes away?! :eek: ;) Mine do the same thing - probably even worse - despite our nagging. Hope you get your workout in tonight. Interesting what you said about changing the pillow. I'm willing to try anything at this point! He snored again last night and I almost had to go sleep on the coach but he must have stopped or I fell asleep somehow. Then, about 5 min. before my alarm went off he was snoring again!

I did Step Fit last night and had a blast! :D I prefer athletic cardio over dancey stuff but it was fun doing some different moves for a change. No squat thrusts or mountain climbers - yeah! Burned a ton of calories, too. If I keep my eating in control I should lose some weight this week. Tonight I do Shred #1 + QTZ.
 
Hello! I did not have any cardio scheduled for today but I got on the elliptical for 35mn anyway and then did pilates for 40mn. Weight stayed the same this week but I did lose 1/2" from my thighs.

Sue, have you seen any noticeable results from the Jillian rotation? I have not done Step Fit in FOREVER!:D

Laurie, in my house, even my DH doesn't put dishes in the washer! Drives me nuts!! Collage Video e-mailed that Jillian's new dvd was available for viewing. Looks pretty good. Right now it's only 11.99.

Biggest Loser's on tonight! I have also been watching the show "Heavy" on A&E. It's pretty good and much more realistic than BL. These people only lose 2-5 pounds a week as opposed to 10 pounds like BL!

I guess I didn't read enough about Intensity. I didn't realize there was a bonus footage. I opted for the Hiit Lo and Bootcamp premix thinking it was bits and pieces of what I had already done....don't ask me what I was thinking. Got to the bootcamp section and saw the weights and had to stop since I did STS yesterday and go back and select the step only portion so I could finish my workouts. What was I thinking----bootcamp???????? Anyway, at least I worked out.

Laurie---I understand that life sometimes gets in the way of our workouts. Fortunate for us, we try not to let that happen to often.

Sue--- have you previewed the STS workouts yet? I feel like I am watching an HD movie when it comes on. It is truly amazing.

Susan---WTG on the inches lost on the thighs.....just the perfect place women like to see the changes.

I didn't workout Mon. or Tue. Today I got myself out of bed and did STS total body. Tonight I will do Intensity, tomorrow will be spinning to my beloved Cardio Coach and Fri will be Kettlebells and a run. I am going to try to make up my missed workouts. Sun. I did Michelle D. Cardio Interval Burn. Someone is gone at work so I am working 9 hours a day and then with basketball practice and games the workouts are not happening unless I can find a way to keep getting up at 4:30. I seem to get sick when I get up that early. DS basketball tournament went well last Sat. in Superior. They took 3rd behind the other Rice Lake team.

heartymax, nice job going back and picking some more of that workout. At that point I would have called it a day. I love STS. The music just gets you going. Amazing results also.

Susan, nice job on the lose in your thighs. Good ole pilates. Nice job going so far on the elliptical. Are you still running? BL was cut short last night, bummer.

Sue, doms and more doms is the name of the game in STS. Haven't done Step Fit in ages. What made you pick that one?

Laurie, bummer on the dishes not being put in the dishwasher. Frustrating when you get done working and there is more work when you get home. Wish I had a dishwasher, my dishes just sit on the counter until I get home to wash them. Are you still liking Insanity?

Morning Ladies,

Today I pulled out my new workout Look Better Naked (I'm not thrilled with the title :rolleyes:), and did the Metobolic workout. This is instructed by Jessica Smith (I really like her). This is an intermediate workout, and it reminds me of Insanity and BFBM. It is an interval workout that is a little more coreographed that those two workouts. She does most of the exercises in 8 reps instead of doing them for a certain time frame. I liked that it really was a true interval workout, she starts each interval low and then at the end your hr goes up. I was breathing hard and sweating, but now having to bend over like I do with Insanity. :D

Sue, I would try anything to get dh to stop snoring. :D My MIL has gotten to the point of taking herself to their spare bedroom to sleep, I just can't get to that point yet. Yes STS will be DOMS!

Susan, Thanks for the info on the Jillian workout, will have to check out the clips. WTG on the decrease in your thighs!

heartymax, I was a little disapointed that Intensity didn't include a premix just for the Hiit work. I did that same premix and skipped to the stretching after the hiit was done.

Karen, Dang on being so busy. Congrats to the 3rd place finish! Yep I'm still enjoying doing the Insanity workouts, but i don't think I will ever do an Insanity rotation again. I was surprised at how my calf muscles where so sore from the PCC workout from yesterday. Must be those blasted football shuffles. Not my favorite exercise. :eek:

Hello! This week seems to be going by so slowly!! Anyway, today is Accelerated Pilates for me!

Karen, glad to see you again! Looks like you'll be doing some great workouts the next few days! I would be pooped after work if I were you! Makes for a long day. My DS placed 3rd in their tourney too! Congrats to yours.

Laurie, I am going to look at that workout you did today. I have heard about it, but I think the title turned me away. Shouldn't judge a book by its cover!:)

Karen - I picked Step Fit because I remember rewinding it over and over again (on VHS at the time) until I finally got the moves down and how happy I was when it finally clicked. It was one of my first Cathe step workouts so it's sentimental I guess. The music and moves are a lot of fun, too. You're doing great fitting in what you can. I don't like getting up at 4:30 either which is why I hardly ever do it.

Susan - I see a big improvement in my mid-section from doing Jillian. I think it's because every workout has abs/core in it. Last time I saw improvements in my shoulders as well but I'm not seeing it there this time.

Laurie - DH tried a different pillow last night and the snoring was much better but still there. It's tolerable at least. That Jessica Smith workout sounds good. Sometimes I want to do cardio but don't want to go all out and this sounds perfect. Oh, and I'd settle for just looking better in my clothes! LOL (don't have to look great naked)

Heartymax - I haven't tried the Bonus footage in Intensity so I wouldn't have known it called for weights either. Thanks for the heads up. I haven't previewed any of the STS dvds yet or looked much at the book. I usually don't preview but may make an exception. Did you find her videos on youtube where she talks about each STS week? I watched the 1st one but need to watch it again.


Last night I did Shred #1 + Last Chance Workout (27 min.) - substitute for Quick Trouble Zones. This morning I did Shred #2. Tomorrow is NMTZ. I'm off to take DS to the doctor to check on his toe and also to start working on our taxes. I'll load the software and download the updates and get as far as I can for now. I also need to buy new workout shoes. My ankles started hurting after Step Fit the other night and that's a sign that I need new shoes.

Wenesday already!! I hate to miss posting because then I have so much catching up to do!!
The winter dance is over and was it successful? Well, the DJ showed up and played good music, staff was there, no one was arrested or drunk (as far as I know), so yes, it was a success! So much lack of sleep, though, made me stay home on Monday :eek:

so I did BMax2...I forgot what a great and tough workout that is. Tues went for a run and today did STS disk 10. am finishing Cathes undulating rotation.

Heartymax, glad you are liking STS. I did the 1RM and really was glad I did. It makes the workout go more smoothly and make me lift heavier...but JMHO

Laurie, how do you like Ilaria? Many times I have been tempted by her workouts but they have always seemed on the intermediate level...
Oh, the joys of having teens over...I actually do miss it! It keeps you young!!
You really have a lot of variety in your workout collection.

Sue, step fit!! I just downloaded Step Works because a long time ago my VHS ate it :( I really like those pure step for a change of pace sometimes! I don´t think I´ve ever done step fit...is it the one that they have the 80s style thong leotard :eek::eek:

Susan, nice job on the inches lost...that is hard to do!

Karen, I´m an early riser, too, but don´t think my days are as full as yours. There are times when our bodies just say "enough" at least for a while. seems like you are still getting in some great workouts, though!
 
Morning Ladies,

Got Disc 26 Plyo Legs done last night. This morning was KPC Premix #2 Punching & Kicking, and I was a bit surprised that the abs where included. I decided to go ahead and do that too. After work will be Disc 28 Chest & Back.

Susan, I bought the workout only because Jessica was the instructor. I really do like her a lot, and I think you will like it. I have not tried the strength workout yet, but that one is 30 min. also. I took a look at the Ripped in 30 clip, it looks good. Maybe that is the first rotation I do after this STS one is over with. ;)

Sue, That is the one thing I really notice about doing a Jillian rotation is the abs. They say that you don't need to do abs everyday, so why is it that when doing her workout the waist gets reduced? :confused:

Lala, I only have the Bodystrike workout of hers, and that one I would say is intermediate. It has no punching in it at all, it is lower body focused. I just like a workout that makes me sweat, even though I don't feel like I have work that hard. It does get the hr up because of all the leg work.

I ended up doing Jillian 6 week six pack today both sections. The workout is as hard as CCC I think.

Laurie, are you doing 2 workouts every day. I have the Look Better Naked dvd also. I haven't tried it yet but I have to hide the dvd cause I don't care for the name. I really do like Jessica though.

Lala, glad the dance was successful. Love BM2. How far are you running now?

Sue, I think I have only done Step Fit once in all the years I have had it. I remember it was my favorite of the older workouts. How is DS doing?

Susan, how many teams were there in the tournament last weekend for you? Nice job in getting third. We have another one this weekend also.

Today is a snow day. I am absolutely LAZY and don't want to and don't plan to do anything! WOOHOO!!! I'll get up bright and early in the morning.

Interesting---about the great results from Jillian's daily core work. I usually do abs about 3 times a week. Sounds like I need to try the daily routine.
 
Today was plyo legs disk 29. after work I did plates and weights. I was too lazy to change my ankle weights and they each had 5 lbs in them :eek: I think next time I will change them!

Heartymax, another snow day??!! will you have to make any days up yet? we have 3 days worked into the calendar just in case but have not had any yet :(

Karen, haha about hiding the DVD. I probably would,too!

Karen----You are one tough lady to do Intensity and STS total body in one day. I think my body would be fried from the morning workout.

Laurie---I noticed also that you seem to fit in two workouts most days. How do you all find the time?

lala-- We have 4 days built into the calendar and I believe that was the last one and we are not in February yet. Another storm in the forecast for next week. They may start chipping away at our spring break:mad: When we have major storms that results in schools being closed for a week, the school system has been able to get the state to waive some of the days due to state of emergency. Not sure how it will be handled if we happen to have 4 more days sporadically like this winter has been.

Sue---you gotta try the bonus footage it is awesome...

With that said, today was Intensity Step and Bootcamp premix. I decided to do that one since yesterday was a rest day and I could circuits. The Bootcamp is short. I wish it was longer.
