BOSU

RE: BOSU on carpet

I was just curious if you use a bodybar? If so, how heavey is the one you use? Do you think that using just dumbbells would suffice? I have had the dvd for quite some time but am taken aback by the usage of the bodybar across the shouders for so long. It tends to cause me a lot of pain when I use any bar like that for any amount of time. Thank you for any advice you might have, as I need to start doing this workout for a change of pace. I have a six month old, as well as a 2 and a half year old and I need something different to begin my day witn a little umph, before they wake up and consume all that's left of me!!!!

I use a bodybar that is 12#'s, but at least one of the women use a 9# bodybar. I don't see why you could use hand weights. But you do need the body bar for the balance in the cardio sections.

Have you tried balancing the bodybar in front of the chest area cradled on your elbows?

RE: BOSU on carpet

I just bought the bodybar today. I went back and forth a million times on whether to get the 9# or the 12# bar. I ended up getting the 12 but I still wonder if 9 would have been fine, but I thought I often use 2 8 lb dumbells for various things so I thought the 12 would be fine. However, I wonder if you could strap ankle weights on a 9 lb bar if you wanted more weight and then have some variety. ???? Any thoughts?

Okay, I just answered my own question. I tried strapping on 3 2.5# ankle weights onto the body bar and it was PERFECT. They stayed exactly where I placed them. I'm going to return the 12# for the 9# so that I will have greater flexibility in the weight I use on this workout.
