Book Readers

I just started reading the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R R Martin. Came recommended by DH. I am just about done with the 1st one, and I believe there are 6, with a 7th in the works. Fantasy, knights, ladies, kings, political intrigue. Loving it so far.

Quick warning about Song of Ice and Fire:
There were SUPPOSED to be 7 books in the series, but the 4th one got too long so it has been split into two pieces. The second half of book 4 is SUPPOSED to come out in September. It has taken SIX YEARS to get both halves of book 4. Martin keeps updating his blog with stories about his toy soldiers and writing other junk. It might be worth waiting until the series is finally finished, because these are books that you cannot remember everything you need to for years at a time. End warning/rant.

You might try the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It comes across as historical romance, and I'm not a fan either, but it's actually very good -- quite addictive to be honest.

I've heard so many things about this series! I have to try it!

Beth,
Have you tried the public libraries in Clearwater? The ones in Sarasota and Manatee have used book stores right inside. I have found some amazing deals on all sorts of books.

Actually the lady at my bookstore just told me about one and I am going to look into it.

If you are going to travel to the Sarasota area we have two Goodwill Book Stores right off of I-75. They are really nice bookstores - better and cleaner than most used book stores I have visited. The hardcover novels are $2.99 each. I am currently working on completing my collection of James Patterson, Jonathan Kellerman, John Sanford, John Saul, Stephen King and Tess Gerritsen. I have a few of the older Dean Koontz yet to find and also F.Paul Wilson.

I just started reading my First Sandford Rules Of Prey I couldn't put the book down. I was going to check my Salvation army and Thrift Store today I just finished by Book List it is soooo huge.

It is probably a good 50-55 minutes drive to the first store and it is literally a mile off the I-75/SR 70 exit. The second store is about another 10 minutes south on the interstate.

Let me know if you want more information,

Yes Please give me the directions we could even meet up at one of them. I have been going to Siesta Key and I went to Turtle Beach but we had to leave it was so darn windy but I got a good exfoliation lol. I also want to go to the Ellenton Outlet Mall too.

Not sure where in MI you are heading, but the libraries in the Detroit suburbs often hold used book sales. Ours does 3x/year; some others hold them once/month. It's how the library reduces it's own inventory, but there are lots of donatations also. Ours has the last day as bag day - $5/bag - can't beat that any day.

Thank you when I get back I will have to remember that.

Also not sure where in MI, but I was near Toledo Ohio and there were a few great used bookstores there. I know there are several around the state...quite a few local authors....
And for clean romance and just great family bonds...CATHERINE ANDERSON or SUSAN WIGGS!

Thank you going to look up Anderson and Wiggs.

Well an Update on My Book Shopping Spree Yesterday. I went to 2 Thrift Stores and 2 Salvation Armies and purchased 56 books all together and I averaged $1.17 per book .

I also did make a mistake on the #1 Ladies Detective Agency the Author is Alexander McCall Smith I found the first book I am going to give it a try and see if I like them.

Thanks Again
