Bodymax2 Review(s)

I did BM2 on Wednesday, but was not able to do the entire workout due to time. I skipped the UB section. I am anxious to the entire workout again this weekend. I did the workout on a 6 inch step and probably will until I master all the moves. The fact that there is a lot of high intensity and high impact moves also plays a factor in that decision, along with the fact that I am not supposed to be doing any high impact due to my recently diagnosed plantar fasciitis. The choreogrpahy wasn't that hard to learn, except for that reverse turn thing in combo #3, I believe. The cardio leg blasts were good, but could've been a bit tougher, IMO. I liked the ab section all right, but will admit to being very intimidated by those rocket thrust things. I don't have the best lower back, so I was a bit scared to do all of them. I am hopeful I will get this workout down soon and know I will have a blast everytime I do it. Cathe's enthusiasm and spirit is so uplifting and encouraging. :)

wow, I actually quite like BM1 and use it pretty frequently. Perhaps b/c until yesterday I only had 3 Cathe strength w/os (those from that DVD- MIS,PH and BM1) I am less discriminating?

I think the Power Circuits segment in BM2 is about 9 min longer than BM1 and the upper body work is just a little bit less. I haven't actually done BM2 yet, though I did review it this afternoon w/ a cup of tea and a pile of halloween candy x(

>To those of you who have BodyMax 1, how does BodyMax 2
>compare? Is it as challenging?

I did Body Max 2 this evening -- I love it!

Time really does fly -- far more so than the original Body Max.

The choreography is excellent. I did have a little bit of trouble with the choreography, but I know I'll be able to do it within the next workout or 2.

I was able to keep up with the upper body parts with no problem, although I was challenged and my muscles were spent after the overhead presses with 15 pounds.

I love the tripcep work and the abs are awesome.

I still can't do the Snow Fairy thingies -- I found this was putting too much pressure on my wrist, which means my form was bad.

So far, I love Low Impact Circuit and Body Max.

Body Max 2 did not play correctly in one part - it stalled. But it was only for a couple of seconds, if that long.

Hi Lynn,

The music in BM1 is so terrible -- it is the most depressing music I've ever heard in any of Cathe's videos.

I used BM1 parts one and two for the intensity, but that wretched music gets worse in the upper body portion of BM1.

Music plays a big part in how I perceive a workout and BM2 is way up on the fantastic music chart.

I have some work to do on some of the choreography, but not much.

It is a fast paced, fun workout.

So far all Cathe's new DVDs are winners!

And this is coming from a person who used to hate the stability ball.

I enjoyed the exercises Cathe did with the ball.

As for the abs, I need to really work on that balance thing -- my balance is not the best and I was not using my core as I should have.

And I'll probably stay at a 6 inch step since I got a great cardio workout. I just jumped higher to keep my heart rate up.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
By far, the best Cathe yet!
Just completed this DVD this am and I LOVED IT!!
You go Cathe...It was worth the wait, and now I have some new challenges to look forward to. She never ceases to impress me. I work out to NO other!

I did BM2 for the second time on Sunday, and this time I had time for the whole workout! It was great from start to finish. I loved the power circuit section and the step routine is very good, without being too complicated. I was very impressed with the upper body section, especially the tricep work. The ab section was tough, particularly after doing the rest of the workout first. I still can't do those rocket thrust things very well. The music on this workout really grows on you and I found myself more and more motivated as I went on. Cathe has once again given us a classic workout. :)
