Blizzard '09

I'm just south of Chicago, we got rain. The northern burbs got a decent amt of snow, though. Got up early to get to work this morning bc the weatherman told me to. He lied, I ended up way early, but better early than late, I supposed. Supposed to get really cold as the day goes on today, and highs in the single digits tomorrow. Gonna get icy w/ all the wet.

Nan

Checking in from Minnesota! I'm in the twin cities area and we have had about 8" of snow but the bigger issue is the winds and blowing/drifting snow. With the low temps, below zero windchill and icy roads, winter has come in with a vengeance:confused:

Stay safe and warm everyone!
I'm watching pictures from Johnston Iowa right now on the Weather Channel from the wet but warm SouthEast.

Stay warm all you snow bound folks!

I am happy to say there is NO snow here. You guys can keep all that cold frozen weather!

Hey fellow Iowans. Isn't this something!
I'm in Granger just 12 miles north of Urbandale.

Every year for the past 8 years we kept saying we should buy a snow blower, maybe we'll get one next year. Thank GOD we just broke down and bought our 1st snow blower ever just last week. :D

Talk about snow drifts. The guy across the street from us has a huge snow drift in thier front yard that is covering 1/2 of thier front door.

Another Iowan here. I was going to work from home today but they ended up closing the office, so now I get the day off. Yeah!

Wow! There are quite a few of us Iowans on here. I'm in Fairfax which is next to Cedar Rapids. The wind kicked in about an hour ago and we already have some monster drifts in the backyard. Our office isn't closed but I opted not to go in - the roads are just nasty!!

Stay warm and safe!

No snow here but cold! We returned late last night from a vacation to Disney World in Florida we left 29C/83Fahrenheit and arrived to -35 Celsius/-31 Fahrenheit. That's a 114 degree difference in Fahrenheit!!

But it's clear and sunny. Hearing lots about the storm out eastern Canada/northwest USA, everyone keep safe!

Another from Minnesota, but 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities...Only about 3 inches, but COLD! 5 degrees when I left the house this afternoon, can't wait to get home for some cocoa!!

MJ

We're getting it allright!!

Ouille!!

We've received over 10 inches of the white stuff today, it's still coming down (Montreal, Canada). It's pretty windy and cold. Good thing I was off work today!
