Bikini or One Piece

RE: Too funny Shelley!

I feel for you on that one. My bikini top fell down as I came down a water slide 2 summers ago. It was a halter top with a hook and just came undone while I was speeding down the slide..LOL! DH said I put on a nice show for all the guys there!

RE: Too funny Shelley!

We dont really swim here . Its a very short season here .But if we do I wear a cute one piece ,Mostly cuz of scars !!!! Ummm 3 c-sections and 3 big babies that gave me strech marks all the way around ,to my belly botton !!!!! .One good thing ...Things are looking better as the inches go away !!!!!!the scars to get smaller LOL.....oh they were so worth it though :) :) :)

Since I'll be preggo this summer I'll get a tankini. No way am I flaunting my big ole belly in a bikini. Hopefully by next summer I'll be bikini ready. ;-)

You haven't seen my legs! :) Lori, it would be hard to make my bottom look smaller. It doesn't matter at this point. I like the leg holes on the boy cut bottoms. It seems like the more feminine cuts give me too much leg hole and they ride up and expose too much of me. Plus I love the squareness of the boy cut since I have small hips and I have long, long legs and a short high waist so the cut makes me seem better proportioned.

BIKINI all the way! and BTW I am age 44. My daughters and I wear bikinis. I have the more conservative ones for at home by our pool with kids (teenagers) and the more revealing ones I only wear on vacations with out kids...

I wear a bathing suit year round. We have a boat and hot tub. I have both one piece and bikinis. However, I'm sooo conservative and really don’t need to be, but I bought a tankini last year and the bottom had a little skirt on it. I agree if you've got it feel free to flaunt it, but I've seen far too many *older* women in bikinis who really shouldn’t be and it gives me the shutters.

Actually, I've seen teenage and younger women who wear them that shouldn't be. I would imagine it depends on how confident you feel wearing a bikini that matters...not what others think.

I'm 50 and feel comfortable. I'll re-evaluate at 60.

I am wearing a bikini this year and I am 45, I have worked hard for it lol......... and scm/susan... I do agree only if you got the body for one, some women should leave the bikini's in the drawer, its hard on the eyes of others lol......... Rhonda

I've always worn two-piece bathing sutis and I am 52! I don't wear teenie-weenie bikinis though. Last year I bought a pair of the board shots and a plain black tankini and like that look. THIS YEAR I am not sporting a bare midriff unless I can figure out how to get rid of this ugly menopausal middle in the next couple months. YUCK!

My butt and legs have never been a problem for me as far as being "fat magnets". My fat seems to gravitate to my belly and my back. My butt's worst problem is getting squishy if I don't exercise. My legs have always been kinda skinny. I think my thighs are only about 18" in circumference, and that's WITH doing squats using a 60lb. barbell!

Probably neither: I don't swim or go to the beach. BUT if I were to choose, I'd choose a two-piece (NOT bikini) with a boy short and bra top. Kind of a retro, Marilyn Monroe-era thing.

Bikini. I'm 40, have a bit of saggy 'this' and cellulite-y 'that', but I don't care. If folks on the beach are looking at my bod instead of the water, surf and sunshine, I feel sorry for 'em!

What a terrific attitude. I have such negative feelings for my stomach, I'd feel uncomfortable baring it, but compared to my feelings for my ribcage, those negative feelings would be nothing. I would feel like folks on the beach were definitely looking at my bod instead of the water, surf and sunshine, and wondering if the circus was in town. It's so HUGE and all my other bones are teeny tiny. Somewhere there's a burly guy with a tiny ribcage which should have been mine!

LOL! This reminds me of when my cousin & her husband came to visit me down the shore last year. For whatever reason he chose not to put his bathing suit on when they left their house. They met us on the beach & he was changing under a towel. It scared me b/c they're really strict about things like that at my beach. He said something really weird like "I love nude beaches. Don't you wish everyone on this beach was naked?" I was like "uh no, I thank god every day public nudity is illegal."

Then, to make matters worse, the guy puts on a speedo. I said "oh my god, you're not really wearing that, are you?" He said "sure, why not?" I really wish he'd just left his regular shorts on. Certain things in life really should be left to the imagination.

Those gals are unreal. If one is present on the telly or a magazine my husbands visual cortex becomes so over-stimulated his head explodes. And, of course, I have to clean it up. It is so hard getting gray matter stains out of stuff and he's getting dumber by the year!:D
