Hi everybody, greetings from the Pacific Rim... I am still jet-lagged. I must be getting old. Used to be I could sleep it off in two days. It has been a week, and I think I need another week to get it out of my system.
I've been working out some -- C&W, PS, KPC, Step Blast, CTX-Power Circuits for starters, during the hours when I feel most active. My three brothers have been constantly poking my arms and tummy and shaking their heads. I consider that a compliment. It's like they can't believe what their little sister has been up to.
The heat here is oppressive. Tomorrow we're all going to my parent's beach house south of the island. It's a two-hour drive so we're leaving early. My son can't wait to see the ocean. I can't wait to simply cool off.
It has been 14 years since I left home the first time, and 5 years since I came home for a visit. I feel like an alien in my own hometown. The city has changed so much, I'd get lost in its roads. Even the language seems foreign, and I've been speaking it forever. I have been busy getting reacquainted with the house where I grew up, which has also changed so much, the family business, the company quarters, the shop, the people who work for us, relatives I haven't seen in so long... Everybody has said something about my body -- how slender and tight it is, as though I've never given birth to a child. I am actually teaching my nieces to kickbox. They are very fascinated with my workouts, especially KPC.
Eating hasn't been good. I try to keep it clean, but it's hard when everyone offers you goodies they know you haven't had in years.
Hellos to all -- Brenda, Sabine, Lisa, ShyWolf, Elizabeth, Tracy, Kim, and anyone else whose identity has been blurred by my never-ending jet lag. I hope the smell of salt air will clear this away. I hope to touch base with all of you again soon.
