I thought I'd start this off today. Yes, Brenda today is ME and I'm headed downstairs to do it now. I have esactly one hour before I need to leave for tennis. So, have fun today everyone and I may check in later.

I thouhgt of changing tomorrows workout to BC cardio/lower body followed by hi/lo add on of SJP with BC warm up and SJP cool down & ABS. Whatdya think?

Hi everybody, greetings from the Pacific Rim... I am still jet-lagged. I must be getting old. Used to be I could sleep it off in two days. It has been a week, and I think I need another week to get it out of my system.

I've been working out some -- C&W, PS, KPC, Step Blast, CTX-Power Circuits for starters, during the hours when I feel most active. My three brothers have been constantly poking my arms and tummy and shaking their heads. I consider that a compliment. It's like they can't believe what their little sister has been up to.

The heat here is oppressive. Tomorrow we're all going to my parent's beach house south of the island. It's a two-hour drive so we're leaving early. My son can't wait to see the ocean. I can't wait to simply cool off.

It has been 14 years since I left home the first time, and 5 years since I came home for a visit. I feel like an alien in my own hometown. The city has changed so much, I'd get lost in its roads. Even the language seems foreign, and I've been speaking it forever. I have been busy getting reacquainted with the house where I grew up, which has also changed so much, the family business, the company quarters, the shop, the people who work for us, relatives I haven't seen in so long... Everybody has said something about my body -- how slender and tight it is, as though I've never given birth to a child. I am actually teaching my nieces to kickbox. They are very fascinated with my workouts, especially KPC.:)

Eating hasn't been good. I try to keep it clean, but it's hard when everyone offers you goodies they know you haven't had in years.:)

Hellos to all -- Brenda, Sabine, Lisa, ShyWolf, Elizabeth, Tracy, Kim, and anyone else whose identity has been blurred by my never-ending jet lag. I hope the smell of salt air will clear this away. I hope to touch base with all of you again soon.

Good morning everyone!

Pinky! It's so good to hear from you. It's hard to go back isn't it? I remember how hard it was just going home for the summers in college. I can't imagine going home after not having been there for years. It sounds like you're having a good time, and that Andrew is also. Good for you for keeping up with your workouts, and teaching your nieces to kickbox!

I talked to Michael and Nicholas as soon as I got home last night. Michael had no headache yesterday! Yea! Hopefully he will continue to feel well, and will be better when he comes home and returns to school next Tuesday.

I woke up in the night with a migraine, but luckily my medication (Relpax) took care of it. I got up and did the warmup, upper body, abs and cooldown from Body Max. That's the first time I've done Body Max, and the first time I've really done serious upper body work in a couple of months. I think I did well. Those pushups are killer though. I decided upfront to do them on my knees, because I felt tired, but I was glad by the end that I made that decision. I actually have trouble doing full pushups early in the morning, but I don't have trouble later in the day. Does anyone else experience that? By the way, Judy, since you mentioned ME, that was the last serious weight workout I did before I got sick. I was so proud of myself that day because I made it through the biceps with no rest with the same weight as Cathe. Maybe soon...

I hope you all have a great day.

PINKY!!! I'm so thrilled that you were able to check in!! It sounds like you're having a great time although I can't imagine the changes you're experiencing. Is your whole family there (no one but you in the states?) Have they met your son before?? Wow- there is so much you're going to have to tell us about. DON'T worry about the clean eating- this, if any, would be a reason to eat what you want. You have tons of time when you get home and apparently you're still working out not to mention looking great! I have so many questions when you get back...
Please try to check in again when you can, its great to hear from you!:)

Judy, what time do you get up?? Maybe it wasn't the chocolate but the DST that is throwing me off- at 6:45 I was struggling to get out of bed. I'm going to do ME today and may throw in MIC hi/lo if I get the time.

Sabine, how's your voice? Any pain? BYW, I feel the same way about FitTV showing workouts I just paid for. I know its good for Cathe but still...

Hellos to Joy, Tracy, Shywolf, Elizabeth, Lisa & Kim- I'll be checking in later if time permits. Working on some serious potty training this week.

Brenda

Good morning!

It's suppossed to get up to 74 today but it's only 50 right now. I wore this silk kind of see thru top with a body shaper under it and it BETTER get up to 74. I just noticed that the tag says Dry clean only. I hate that. Anyway, Step class was good last night they got some new music and it seemed a little faster - but that was good. I took my target heart rate and it was 152. My range is 123-161 so I guess I was in the zone to burn fat. Looking forward to the body bar class tonight. I'm starting to notice a difference in my upper body strength and appearance. Now if I could only get this poochy belly to disappear all would be right with the world. :)

Has anyone tried that machine called 6 second abs? The commercials always look so convincing but it is $60. Let me know.

Have a great day (I always feel like "Tony the Tiger" when I say that)
Kim

Hello everyone!

Pinky! Man, I'm so jazzed to hear from you! We've missed you. Flying overseas does take it out of you but it sounds like you're recuperating now. How is Andrew enjoying his visit with your family- bet he's having a blast! I had to chuckle at the image of your brothers poking at your arms and abs and shaking their heads...:7 And enjoy the goodies- you've been working out before and some during your visit- you don't get food like that back in the states. Have a great time at the beach and we look forward to hearing from you again soon! Take care, sweetie!

Sabine- I haven't done Powerstrike, though I've heard alot about it. Basically I do Cathe and I have my own personal martial arts instructor- DH!:) I've taken yrs of his classes and he *kicks my bu** everytime- figuratively speaking of course!:p How is your voice, btw? Hope you're feeling better and yes, I did feel a twinge of something that Cathe's newer w/o were on FitTv but as with Lisa, we have the DVD's with all the cool premixes and the FULL w/o's.

Shywolf- thanks for the compliment. I like to do yoga after a weight w/o as I find it helps me feel much less stiff and achey. But I gotta say, I think I like YOUR method of the jacuzzi tub and salts betta'!...:7 Sounds like you had some great workouts! I also enjoy TS5- you get to work both the lower body and abs well in that one!

Lisa- glad you heard from your guys and that Michael hasn't had a headache- yippeee! They'll be back before you know it. How are you feeling? I'm sorry about your migraine- take good care!

Going to do KPC today and L&G tomorrow. I'm watching IMAX2 to learn the choreography- got 1-3 pretty good but THAT'S OK!...:), I'm in no rush whatsoever.

Hellos to Joy, Judy, Kim, CID, Brenda and Tracy. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Elizabeth

Morning all,

Thanks so much for the inquiries about my voice. It is slowly getting better. I am audible to other people and still very hoarse and scratchy. I feel like I should charge by the minute when people try to converse with me;) . My sinuses continue to drain on a non stop basis which is super annoying and frankly just gross. I'm hoping the antihistamines start kicking in and I dry out a bit. Overall, I'm better and still have a ways to go.

Today I did Slow and Heavy Chest and Back. Really focused on form and got a great workout, especially in the chest! I did pretty bad on the plank work at the end so I added on Power Hour abs just to feel like the core got something.

Judy- Hope your tennis game went well.

Pinky- Great to hear from you! You're a total animal for keeping up the workouts while on vacation and suffering from horrible jet lag (I feel you on that one, I had it SOOOOO bad when I went to Africa). Enjoy the home cooking and the local treats and being with your family. The beach sounds heavenly. Hope you find some relief from the heat.

Lisa- Great job with the workouts comimg off a very long illness! Glad that you got to hear from your husband and kids and that your son seems to be doing well on the trip.

Kim- Isn't it great when all the work starts paying off in noticeable improvements? Congratulations.

Brenda- How's the M & F rotation going? Your comment about the serious potty training had me picturing you in a drill sergeant uniform! I think I'm losing it and it's not even 10:00 am yet here! I'm continuing to blame any odd behavior on my part on DST!

Other hellos to Joy, Shywolf, Elizabeth (married to a martial arts instructor? How cool!), Tracy, and anyone else I may have overlooked.

Sabine- have you down Powerstrike? If yes, how was it? (who was talking about it? I can't remember) I've been hearing lots about it and wonder how it compares to Cathe. I did S&H Chest only yesterday and felt the same way. I was really trying to concentrate on my chicken cutlets, especially since tank tops are right around the corner.

Yes, our potty training runs a little like BootCamp except no one is wearing any pants (well, I am). It involves lots of laundry and potties everywhere- why do I feel like I need a whistle?

Lisa, good job on BodyMax- its tough! Glad all your boys are doing well.

Lori, I feel like I haven't "seen" you lately- are you out there?

Naptime- gotta work out. :)

Good afternoon everyone.

Lisa, glad your son is doing well! And that your meds kicked in for you. BodyMax upper body wipes me out 'cause it is so fast-paced. Good for you!

luvs2bfit--your own personal martial arts instructor! Cool!

Brenda--just think of all the extra calories your burning with all the pee-peed laundry (there has to be a positive spin on potty training!). I remeber looking forward to naptime to visit Cathe...

Sabine--glad to hear your getting better, too. Sorry, though, about the drainage...that is a gross feeling!

Hi to everyone else! This little forum has really kept me committed to my rotation. Thank you to all!

Today will be a long bike ride with DH. It's fair outside (probably 55-60 degrees) and little windy but it should go well. I just don't like to be cold. Abs and possibly PLB (no floor) will round it out.

Question...how does everyone incorporate yoga? Is it counter-productive to tack it on to weighted work (I noticed someone did that...can't remeber who)? It seems logical to put it after cardio, but most of the time I'm just too tired to do anything else except easy stretching. FYI, I have Bryan Kest's and one Baron Baptiste videos. I'm thinking of separating it from other workout times, but that would mean 2 showers! TIA.

CinDee

Brenda, I just read your bit about the bad-boyfriend chocolate relationship. LOL...seriously, I was! If I had the whole world of desserts to choose from, it would be chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Don't garnish it with raspberries or a sprig of mint. I'm a purist!

CinDee

ROFLMAO! Just the visual alone is priceless!

Cindee- I am trying to incorporate more yoga as well, although I am sticking to more of the flexbility/relaxation yoga workouts vs. the more strength yoga workouts. I'm trying to do a shorter yoga workout 2 times per week. One time in the evening (I usually work on in the morning) and the other time on my 'rest' day. I'm not sure this would work for you if you are wanting to do more 'athletic' yoga. Could you replace a strength day with yoga?

Just my two cents!

Just checking back in and I saw Sabine's post to Cindee... I often do more of the flexibility/relaxation yoga, because I usually do my yoga at night also, although, I do enjoy power yoga and yoga for strength. What made reply though, is that I just got a new DVD that I haven't even looked at yet. It's called Hard Body Yoga, and it had very good reviews, I think on collage and VF, although I may have seen something on amazon also. There was even someone saying that they do Cathe's workouts, and find this to be a great alternative. I don't think this is "pure" yoga, but there's so many forms of yoga now that it may not matter. Anyway, Cindee, in case it is strength yoga that you're interested in, I'll let you know what I think!

Hi All;
It's been one heck of a busy day and I'm ready to collapse into my bed here very pronto.
Just wanted to checkin here before I did though. Actually it's the 1st time today I've beenable to get onling . The hubby is off today so he was on it all day doing homework and surfing.

Both my girls had their dance recital photos done this afternoon so I was busy getting them ready.

I did manage to do Chest & Back today and it wasn't as bad as I thought the S&H series seemed to me. I really concentrated hard on my form and I felt those moves to the point of my muscles getting shaky towards the end of the last sets. I still need to work on my planks and those pushups ...my chest was fried but oddly enough I'm feeling good right about now ...I'll see tommorrow though.

Just saw that Pinky checked in ...Pinky hioping your enjoying your visit back home.

Hellos to everyone else..sorry I'm not mentioning names my mind is just about mush, I need to go to bed. http://www.stupid-boy.com/smilies/otn/sleepy/sleepey.gif

Lisa- share your review of Hard Body Yoga when you can! Thanks

Pinky- good to hear from you!

Brenda- I remember potty training well. Fortunately it is just a memorey. Now I 'm teaching them how to drive! I'll trade ya! I miss those babes who adored their Mom and didn't "Know everhtying already"
