BFL Thursday

HA! I wanted to start a quick post so that I wouldn't duplicate anybody...worked! lol

How are you ladies so far this morning??? How's YOUR weather? We had a lightning storm roll thru here around 4am. Good thing my alarm clock goes off at 4:45! LOL

This morning was HIIT, and I did iTread 13 and really kicked it! Then I followed with Ab Ripper X again.

You ladies KNOW I'm here with ya, right? I always say that I'm going to get back on the PC later in the day, but that never really happens. Which means I post only a few personal notes. BUT I READ EVERYTHING! I promise....just that once the kids get home from school, I'm either doing stuff with them or THEY are on the PC (both of them, lol).

I'm feeling GREAT!!!!!!!!!! HOW ABOUT YOU?

Who asked that question, at the beginning of this 12 week journey, that they sing on The Biggest Loser.....

something like.......

What have you done today to make you feel PROUD?

Gayle

Good morning Gayle & all who follow.

Today I am pleasantly experiencing DOMS in my legs from PLB on my own yesterday. YEAH. I'm still trying to figure out what to do so I can hit 10's with my leg workout. Anyway, today is my HIIT treadmill workout. I'm planning on doing another 5 miler at 1% incline again. I'm hoping it will help me when I go back to hitting the pavement again. That 1% incline makes a big difference. With zero incline my 10 is 7.5, but with the incline it is 7.0. Obviously I have lots of room for improvement.

Gayle - Good question. Well, with today still being early and I've been at work for 30 minutes now, I guess the thing I can be proud of is getting the kids and myself out the door on time and dropped off so I can make it to work on time. Actually we do that Monday thru Friday and we rarely run late so I don't know if I should be proud of that. Oh, I am proud that I have been doing my BFL workouts as scheduled, even though my eating has not been stellar. Hopefully the eating will get back on track soon since my TOTM is almost over.

Well, I need to get some work done. I'll BBL to chat. Have a great day!

Hi and Good Morning to all!

Sorry I didn't get back last night to see how everyone was doing.
Boys took over my computer and I had my friend over last night for a game of pool and a workout. Spent most of the night chatting with her and my DH.

Finished my workout yesterday and felt great.
PLB
ME abs instead of MIS abs
LIS which was great for getting my legs loosened up after PLB

I will be eating my stew today that I spent most of yesterday making.
It turned out to be more of a vegatable stew than a beef soup. My daughter liked it but asked "Where's the Beef?" She is used to my original recipe.

Today's workout:
iTread #21 35min
CW abs and stretch

Gayle: Glad you started out this post today. I have been running around trying to get my washer to drain and get kids out the door.
Back to washer issues again! Time for a new machine I think.
I wish I could get my cardio in earlier than 9am. This would leave me with more time for other things...like house stuff before it is time to get my DS again from school.
Oh, I checked out P90X on-line but the reports about the company didn't sound too good. :( Where did you get yours from? I still am interested in the ab ripper program...this sounds tough. But I like it tough!:)

Veronika: Time for new undies huh? ;-) Fantastic!

Kristi: I thought that you would enjoy the Pyramids. These are great! Are you using dumbbells are a bb for this? I used DB's yesterday and weights of 2X 12,15,20's. I have some pace weights that I can tac on to increase the weights from .5 - 4#s. This is great for increasing the weight gradually without jumping up 3 or 5 #s.

Jennifer: I bet you are feeling the DOMS today! :D

Colleen: How are you doing today? How is the neck? Hopefully things at work are better too! What's on your workout schedule for today?

Jenn: How is your hip doing? Have you found out anything latetly about what might be causing the pain?

So what is everyone else working on today?

I'll be back later...I promise :7

Good Morning Ladies ~ :)

Feeling some DOMS today from PUB, but not as bad as I thought.
Today is HIIT on the Treadmill, and after work I am meeting Wendy (6Swans4me) at Yoga class for a 5:30 class.

Gayle~ Don't worry about not getting on at night. I always want to get on at night also, but the time I get home from work, get my workout in, homework, cleaning, etc...I have no time for anything. Plus, I don't think BF or DD would let me on the computer if I asked them... LOL :)
Good question; What am I proud of? I would have to say sticking w/ the BFL program for 2-weeks straight. Sure I did it in the past, but only got to W5-6...This time I know I am in it for the long haul! I feel great! No cravings, and it's even close to TTOM...Shocking

Meals are planned. Just finished my eggs whites w/ Turkey Bacon/w/w english muffin.

Anyone have any plans for the weekend?
BBL to catch up on personals :)
XoXo

Heidi - I'm using dumbbells too. A barbell would be a nuissance for me to change constantly. Yesterday I used the following dumbbells for squats: 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5. I use my platemates for the in between weights. However, I need to go up to 25 lbers for my heaviest weight. Hopefully I will reach 10s, but I think I might need something heavier. I might have to buy 30 lbers, but I don't feel safe lifting that much. I might have to buy them anyway because I will need them when my bench press weight gets up there. I'm at 22.5 lbers now. Maybe I'll buy a weighted vest for squats.

Veronika - That's great news about needing to buy new undies. It's a testiment to how your hard work and eating well are paying off.

Gayle - Don't feel bad. I hardly get a chance to make it back here at night too. I even have a hard time on the weekends. Too much stuff to do with the kids, housework, trying to spend time with DH, etc.

Jenn - You should be proud for sticking with the BFL program. It is a healthy life change. Keep up the good work. I'm doing HIIT tonight too. I'll be thinking of you as I am running on the treadmill.

Hey guys! I'm getting TONS TONS TONS done this morning. YEAH!

OK....

Kristi-maybe, if you can't get to buy heavier weights yet and you still need to hit 10s...how about pre-exhausting your muscles first? How about a set or 2 of whatever exercise, say squats, at high reps with low weights. THEN get into the pyramid; then by the time you hit your heaviest weight, you SHOULD be close to a 10! I'm always afraid of hitting 10s with my barbell on my shoulders, in case I can't get back up! lol

Heidi-if you can keep a secret, I'll confess where I got my P90X. lol My BF bought it about 2 weeks ago, and being the computer nerd that he is (lol), he used a special software to copy them and get around the copyright protection on it. BUT...I did have the set about a year ago, and I bought it off the Ya-Ya boards for about $90.

Jennifer-tell Wendy I said HI! We never really got to spend too much time together at the road trip, did we? lol Jean and I were always somewhere different than you guys! NEXT TIME!

OK...I'm proud that I got SO MUCh done this morning so far! I got 2 dozen banana muffins baked (and the dishes cleared up), ordered my last batch of pictures online so I can scrapbook them (this is my second fave hobby, next to working out), and I cleaned up my dining room in preparation for company tomorrow morning and a few days early next week (a few of my friends are coming over to hang out and scrapbook together)!

Now...it's off to work/school. I'm staying afterward for my younger DS' Thanksgiving Play.

Gayle

Just letting you know that I'm here this morning and that I am off to go workout.I'm doing Drill Max Cardio Blast for My HIIT and then I'll do abs.I blew it by the way with breakfast this morning by eating one too many pancakes. They were good.I'll get on track right now.
Gayle, I have never done scrapbooking before. It just seems like so much work and I am not creative at all.Isn't it amazing how much you can get done when you know you have a deadline? Gayle, are you kidding me? I'm the worst about not getting back.Don't feel bad at all about it.Your the one that always gets us going and is finished with the challenge early.I'm real glad you are here when you are.

I'll be back
Veronika

Hi back after my workout,

iTread #21 was pretty good. Highest point today...7.8. Have to hold this speed for 2 min's!}( Man I was counting the seconds towards the end!
Total workout time including warm-up abs and stretch 53.5.

Time for shower and get some work done.

Kristi: Great job on the weights. I am working my way up gradually also. This last round of PLB didn't get me at all like the first couple of times. Better move on up to next heaviest set.
Like Gayle said...you could always add in extra reps or pre-exhaust first. Have a great workout today!

Jenn: Have fun with your cardio session and yoga. The yoga will feel great after your run. :)

Veronika: Ohhh....Drill Max. Haven't done that in awhile! Have a good workout too! :7

Gayle: You are so lucky to be able to spend time scrapbooking. I just don't have the time or patience. I have loads of pictures from years back of the kids that still need to be put into some sort of album or frame. Maybe when I am retired....?

Everyone have a great day! :D BBL

Hello everybody!! Just wanted to check in quickly to let you all know I'm still here with all of you! However, I have been feeling HUGELY discouraged lately with this sore hip/back thing goin' on, and with the lack of weight loss over these past - what...seven?...weeks. Anyway, I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for this afternoon to discuss a few things with him. Hopefully it'll result in a better attitude.

You all are doing so great, and you're a very supportive group. Soooo glad I have you guys. I'll check back later and let you know how everything went. :)

Jen

Another quick check in for me today. I just wanted to thank you guys for being so motviating. You are all so POSITIVE and it's catchy. I woke up feeling burned out from work and just thinking I can't go on at this pace and pretty darn grumpy. But checking in, really has given me some positive energy!

I did 25 minutes of Intense Moves last night. UB is scheduled today. I slept in so will do it tonight when I get home. But so far, at least I am staying on track. I'd like to find the extra motivation to get up early again and get them done.

Gayle: I’m in CA and wore shorts to the vet visit yesterday afternoon. We are still in the low 70s during the day.

Jennifer: My plans for the weekend almost always involve some dog activity. Saturday, we are going to a fun match for agility and going to puppy obedience later. Sunday, we are going to a Holiday Party for our Agility club and meeting possible puppy buyers later in the day.

Heidi: The neck is getting better, thanks!

Kristi: I also have a tough time hitting 10s with BFL LB at home. I still get good workouts, but until I join a gym or get more/better weights, I just modify and work with what I have.

Veronika: I was just looking at Drill Max and wondering it was good for BFL. I’ll have to make a note and put it on my ever growing wish list.

Jen: Hang in there. I have chronic neck problems and it really used to get me down in the dumps when I had a bad episode. But in the long run, if you take the time to heal and really stay on track with eating, I think you’ll still see great progress and hopefully heal faster!!!

Colleen

Hello Sneabong,

Your more than welcome to join us! :7

What are your goals?

Are you going to follow the BFL program or make up your own similar to this?

Hi Colleen,

Glad your neck is doing better today. Are you working tonight or have the night off? What did your workout consist of today or taking a day off?

I just finished making up a workout schedule for my DD. She wants to tone up for the up coming trip to the islands. Her cousin there is working out for our visit too! Pretty funny how we all wait to get in shape when either family is coming that we haven't seen in awhile or we go on vacation. ;-)
I will have to wait to see what she thinks of the schedule. I might have to switch this to the Cathe July07 Timesaver rotation for her. She is so busy with school and working at her internship.

Well, it is getting late...Check-in tomorrow!
