BFL for Fri Feb 29th 2008

Good morning everyone! It's been crazy busy the last few days. My meeting/interview went really well on Wednesday. I just have to decide how much I'm willing to travel (and how much DH is willing to support) but I think my chances are very good if we can agree on the travel piece (it helps that I have an in at the company). I found out yesterday that my current employer wants to extend my employment for another 2 weeks (I was laid off and today was supposed to be my last day). I had already given up daycare for the LO so I've been scrambling to make arrangements for her. She's suddenly not sleeping through the night so I feel like a zombie. Thankfully it's Friday and we'll have the weekend to sort out all that's been happening.

I missed my workout yesterday (DD decided to wake up during my workout time and I couldn't fit it in before work and then she was fussy last night so I didn't get it in after work). Today I did my Interval run on the treadmill (I upped the intensity and it felt great) and followed it with the PLB (up portion premix) that I was going to do yesterday so I'm back on track with my workouts. Eating is going well and my pants are getting loose.

Stephanie - enjoy the time with your mom! Good luck with the eating - at least you have a plan and that's half the battle in my book.

Sherry - congrats on getting the core done (that's my biggest workout obstacle).

Gayle - You sound like me when it comes to abs. My goal for March is to get in a 10 minute ab workout twice a week (at least it's better than what I'm doing now).

Heidi - Do you enjoy your iTread workouts? I've never tried one.

Christina - Have fun with your trainer! I think that would be nice to try sometime.

Lainie - I've been enjoying the Pyramid (up only premixes) the last three weeks. I'm going to have to decide what to try next.

Rhonda - Redwings! Back in the day I was a huge Steve Yzerman fan. I haven't been able to keep up with hockey with my DD sleep schedule but I'm trying to catch at least a couple games on TV when I can. I'm also finishing up week three. I'm enjoying my progress so far.

Carolyn - I love kickbox. I think I'm going to add it next week for one of my cardio sessions since it's been awhile since I've fit it in.

Enjoy your weekends everyone!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!

You guys are so busy chatting today that I cannot keep up with the personals. I'm in SSSLLLOOOWWWW motion getting over this flu. And trying to catch up on work. It's really cutting into my posting time.;-)

So I tried doing UB last night and just didn't have it in me. I ended up just going back upstairs and lying on the couch for the rest of the night. It's killing me that I've missed almost a whole week of workouts. But that's life right?! JUST GOTTA MOVE ON!

Oh, I'm wearing my SKINNY JEANS today!!!!:7

Hey Melissa,

It is hard after a flu to get your body moving again. Don't push too hard because your body is still in recovery. :) Yeah for your SKINNY JEANS!

Michelle: How are you doing?

Hi Kathy and Kim: Great workouts for you both. }(

Kim: I do really like the iTreads. Today's was just a great mix of steady flats and 4 sprints. It mixes well with upper body workouts. SH planks and then KPC abs on the stability ball...ooooh!

Kathy: I had the same problem...my ball needs a little more air. My shoes wearing sinking in a little too much during the pikes. ;-) It might be squishy because of the cold basement air right now too.

Back to work....BBL Heidi

Kathy - I did decide on getting Runervals w/IronGirls. Figured it would be better for doing HIIT type cardio. Next month will be hard as all there left to choose from are the spinning workouts. Walking strong is a tough workout. Tracey is impressive in that she can go so fast on such a high incline. I didn't have trouble with the lunges and kick back once I had the speed correct. Makes me almost want to do it again tomorrow instead of the spinning core workout I have planned.

Heidi,

The little ones are not mine. I have 3 of my own 17, 15, and 9. I have been keeping teacher's kids from the elementary school for the past 6 years. They keep on having more and more kids! Right now they range from 10 months to 5 years old. I actually keep 8 all together, but 3 of the teachers job share so those kids are part time. I only have one that is here every day. The 3 older ones, (one 5yo, and 2 4yo) go to preschool 3 days a week so that is a nice break. I workout everyday at 9:30 when the little ones go down for their morning nap. Yes, I put them on my schedule!! LOL..

Looking forward to spring break:p

Carolyn

Hi everyone. I'm back (but still a bit busy but have a little break). I'm so happy when I get my workout done in the morning, though it's hard to drag my carcass out of bed. I am so NOT a morning person. I keep thinking getting it done in the morning will give me time to relax in the afternoon, but instead I end up doing a bunch of other things. Typical. It's supposed to snow later but DH will have a long ride home from somewhere in NJ, so I might have to shovel before he gets here.

I can't type much because I have a bad cut on my thumb and I hate hitting the space bar with it. Hope to be back this evening for personals--going to go put a bandaid on this thing again for now.

Hi Lainie,

Great job getting your workout done early.:) It is nice to have it out of the way so you can get on with your day. If I slack off in the morning and keep saying I will do it later....well it turns out later the next day.;-)

As far as the snow...take it as an upper body workout. I am sure the kids would love to help as well. My boys turn it into a race to see who can make the biggest pile on their side of the driveway. :D

Hopefully you won't get too much snow. Safe driving for your DH.

Have a nice evening. Heidi

Hi Carolyn,

You must have a lot of energy to keep with all those little ones. :)
I bet you can't wait for spring break!

My children are all older now except for my youngest which is now 12. He is going to be 13 in April! So the ages are 22,21,18 and 12. The two oldest are both in college. My 18yr old is out of school and taking a break from full-time work.

I am sooooo looking forward to next week. It will reach the 50's by tues. Like a car trip....are we there yet for spring that is?

Time for dinner...BBL Heidi

What is on everyone's plans for this evening...other than shoveling?

Hey Belinda:

Did you get in your MIC abs today?;-) What are you planning for tomorrow's workout?

I was thinking of doing Low Max. Need a break from running and plus it is a great bun burner as well. :7

Have a good night. Heidi

PS I was just checking out the Forum...Cathe's March rotation popped up and I saw your name in there.;-)
It is funny I was just trying to plan this months workouts and Cathe put one together fairly close to what I had in mind. TOO FUNNY!

Hey guys. We haven't heard from Michelle today, have we? Hope everything's okay on her end!

Gayle

p.s. Only 30 minutes till BOTH kids are out of the house for the night. But now it's supposed to snow overnight and I have NO idea how the roads are going to be for my run tomorrow. I really don't have a choice, because Sunday there just isn't anybody around early in the AM. ANd I SOOO don't want to run these 10 on the TM again....but if I must, then I must. We'll see what the morning hour brings!

Hi Gayle,

My thoughts exactly...hope things are going ok with Michelle.

Did you get to go and get your warmer running clothes?

For running trails when it is icy I have ice grips that attach to my sneakers. It really does help!

My favorite running companies are RoadRunnerSports.com and National Running Center. They have great gear and competitive pricing.

Have a great run tomorrow! Heidi
