BFL for Feb-11-08

Morning to everyone!

Belinda and Tammy - hope you had great workouts!
Can't believe I am posting this early (I'm not exactly a morning person :)) -- but my DH committed to getting up and exercising before his 9 AM class, so I figured I'd give him some moral support! I am off to do PLB....but I must say I am feeling a bit sluggish....zzzzz...what? Huh? Oops - dozed off for a second there.

Good morning all!

I'm glad to see you did your ab workout Belinda! Way to go!

I did PLB -- then I skipped the floor part to attempt some yoga. I just picked up a.m./p.m. yoga and power yoga with Rodney Yee. I figured I better start out with the easy one -- so I did a.m. yoga. Hmmmmm, I'm still trying to figure out what all the hype is about. I'm not going to give up that easy -- but I don't think I'm going to be allowing myself 20 extra minutes in the morning to do this one. I'll try the p.m. yoga and see what I think of that.

Good morning to Belinda, Tammy, Christina & all who follow!

PUB done. Arms (biceps and triceps)just didn't have the oopmf today, but they made it through. I think I need to wait a week or two before trying to go heavier.

My kids are off school this week for mid-winter break. They'll be with my aunt the next few days. Main activity on the agenda will be baking from scratch - brownies and cinnamon rolls. Oooh, the temptation! What's the physical penalty for just a little bit? 10 push-ups? A cardio blast segment of choice? Maybe actually doing core work which I so often "don't seem to have the time for"?

It's cold (-4 right now)! Stay warm and have a great day!
 
Hey Michelle we posted at the same time. I find yoga to be more an evening thing for me, when i need a stretch. Otherwise, I'd rather so something with a bit more motion involved.

Great workouts Belinda, Tammy, Christina, Michelle, & Sherry! Wow, you girls are up an at ‘em early!!!

I was supposed to take a day off today, but I got up early enough to fit an hour in. I decided to do something fun like the Cardio Premix on LIC and the abs (fun stuff!)

I’m working off-site today so hopefully I’ll make it back to my desk for lunch to check in. If not, I’ll drop by after work. Have a great day!

Belinda, I haven't done Core Max #1. How is it? Which leg workout did you do? I'm still pondering which one I should do.

I am planning on lower body and abs today. I think I need to do what Belinda did today and work my abs first so they are out of the way.

Good news! I am down 1 pound! YIPEE!! I know I have been making progress but it wasn't showing up on the scale. I am using Spark People, thanks Sherry!, to record my meals for calories, fat, etc and I seem to be a little low on calories, but right on with everything else. I will take my measurements later this morning and will post with good news, I hope!

I'm following the BFL diet, but I've been doing the Gym Styles since 12/31. I love these, but feel like I need more or something different.

Do you think I would get better results with PUB/PLB?

I love the GS, but I'm noticing most of you are using the Pyramids.

Hey guys. SUPER SUPER SUPER quick post. We're running WAY late in this house today, and that's very unusual. I promise to read and respond to all your posts later today or tonight! PROMISE!

Weekend was fantastic. But I'm tired. Dave and I had some great alone kid-free time from about 5pm Saturday till about 11am Sunday and it was relaxing and so much needed (on my part, at least).

All the Birthday celebrating is OVER!

Had a few kid issues this weekend. Older DS and his friend ended up googling a few 'fun' things and they ended up looking at topless women! ACK! It started out innocently but one thing led to another. Then younger DS called older DS an A--hole! lol I had to laugh on BOTH issues, but both needed to be handled and punished accordingly! SHEEESH! NEver boring.

Me.....looking at KICKING THE NEXT 6 WEEKS IN THE REAR, ladies! I overslept this morning, as the power went out last night due to high winds (very unusual for that to happen here, but once in a while we lose our grid). So, for me...it's off to school early to help 1st grade celebrate the 100th day of school today. Then work, then home for PLB (with floor work, Michelle, I did catch that you skipped that part, lol) HEAVY! Then I've got the cable guy coming. I promise once he's gone and things settle, I'll get back online!

Sherry - I'm feeling for you -- I know I CAN'T say no to brownies! Yes, I thing 10 pushups might be a good! (Also, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one skipping core workouts.)

Kathy - I soooo need your attitude. Your posts always include the word "fun" when describing your workouts. Geez, maybe I'm not doing the right workouts!!

Stephanie - way to go on the one pound loss!

Gayle - Sounds like you had quite the weekend. I only hope my birthday is half as fun as yours!! :) You know, I never did get the piece of b-day cake I've been craving all weekend. I'm cracking up over your sons. :7

Morning,

No workout for me today. We did end up going skiing over the weekend. It was lots of fun, but it was WINDY and cold. I think the gusts hit 40 mph. They literally knocked us off of our feet. I feel like my cold came back 100%. I feel worse today thatn I did last week.

This is my week 7. I didn't weigh in this weekend. It is always hard to eat clean while away from home but I did pretty well considering yesterday was also my free day.

Hi girls,


Right after I did my abs this morning, I did Leaner Legs for CTX! WOW! What a leg workout! My DH took me out for lunch (lobster & steak) Yummy! I didn’t eat the steak!Then I took my dogs for a nice long walk! The weather is so nice here, we got sunshine!


I had so much fun after the cemetery yesterday! My sisters and my BIL complimented my all day about my weight loss/inches! I was surprised they notice! Even my DH keeps telling me how small I am getting! They wanted to know how I lost so much weight in such a short time! So I told them about BFL! They are not ready for that one yet! LOL! They want me to give them the protein pancake recipes! Isn’t that funny?

Tammy** enjoy your LB workout today! What workout are you doing?

Christina** great job getting up early and working out with your DH!

Michelle** I am doing my abs first now, this way they are done! No more excuse! Great job on PLB! So you skipped the second half? LOL!

Hello to everyone,

Just peeking in to see how everyone is doing today.

Carolyn: I hope you feel better soon Time for chicken soup and warm cozy blanket. (My kids favorites) It is so cold here right now. My 3rd floor windows are open for the sheetrock hangers to do their job. My heat is off for the day too. Temp's say that it is 20 out but because of the high winds it is more like -14F. Brrrrr.

Belinda: So nice to have your family notice your changes. Even better wanting your secret recipes! :) Good for you getting in your abs first thing. This really helps in getting them out of the way. I was debating doing Leaner Legs instead of PLB today.

I won't be getting my workout in until later tonight. The men will be here until around 5pm or so.

Tammy: Have a great workout with LB and abs. Which are you doing today?

forever39: Welcome! Yes you can us PLB/PUB if you would like. This would change things up for you. I also use SH series as well.

Christina: So how do you feel now? Are you awake? ;-)

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed some treats on Free Day! Not too much, though, of course...

Since I didn't get to cook any of me BFL meals yesterday, I had to scrounge around for good eats today. I found some leftovers buried in the freezer and I could still tell what they were, so that's a bonus!

M#1: protein shake
M#2: beef & barley soup
M#3: salad w/can of tuna, 1/4c black beans, T of dried cranberries, T of edamame and some veggies.
M#4: apply & string cheese
M#5: turkey black bean chili
M#6: protein shake

I am so looking forward to doing UB tonight. My lat DOMS are gone but I'm hoping to revive them..}( I think I might attempt to do a couple of pull-ups. ATTEMPT being the key word!!!

Hey guys – (Still swilling coffee to compensate for early rising….and putting off actual work at office) -

PLB kicked my rear as usual – but in a good way! Tried the weightlifters’ granola recipe from this month’s Oxygen for meal 2. Yum! It’s got dried apples, cranberries, apricots, flaxseeds, and lots of other goodies – and it makes a huge amount. I bagged up little ½ cup servings for healthy snacks. If ya’ll are interested, I could post the recipe.

Belinda – You were smart to do core first today – no excuses! And I agree – Leaner Legs is a killer – SO many reps! Congrats on your family noticing your weight loss this weekend – I bet you were feeling great about that!

Tammy – How was your LB work? Hope you are feeling energized from your workout!

Sherry – Minus 4?! Brrrr! You are a saint to be baking all those yummy treats - feel free to mail me the extras – you know, so you aren’t tempted!

Stephanie – Way to go on your weight loss!!! That is great!

Carolyn – Sending healing energy your way! I hope you feel much better soon – you are definitely smart to rest today. That sounds like some crazy wind on the slopes!

Kathy – You are so motivated! Hope that your pre-mix was lots of fun!

Heidi – Hope your day is going well! Love how you are getting creative mixing the itreads with the weight work – that is cool!

Melissa – Sounds like your eating is right on track – despite having to scrounge! Good luck with those pull ups! Do you have a bar or do you do them at the gym? I wonder if I could do even one….it’s doubtful!

Michelle – I agree with some of the other ladies who said that yoga is a good PM thing. For ex, if my DH is watching football, I’ll do yoga stretches in the same room to keep him company. Plus I tend towards back pain, and I definitely notice the improvement if I do yoga in the evenings. Of course, in the case of Rodney Yee, there is also the eye candy factor! Have a good day at work!

Gayle – Glad you had a good B-day weekend! I had to laugh about the trouble your little guys got into – but of course you still had to deal with it ! We totally had the high winds here in SC too – our neighbors lost power but we got off lucky. Have fun with PLB – that’s what I did today as well – but I bet with nowhere near the weights you use!!

And if anyone wants to kick my butt about getting back to work, PLEASE DO cause I need it! I am sooo lazy this AM! Since I'm alone in this office, no one knows what I am actually up to – could be working, could be planning next dream vacation…
