BFL Check In - Week 1

It sounds like everyone is doing great!

I have a confession to make. My eating is out of control. I have had a few relapses with my chocolate addiction and then I had Bunko last night and there was only junk food available. Good thing we only do Bunko one night a month. However, I plan to refocus this weekend and reread Body for Life to get back on track. The last time I read it was about 3 months ago. My workouts on the other hand have been right on track with where I need to be. Why is it easier to exercise right than to eat right? I'm thinking that today will be my free day so I can regroup first thing tomorrow. Somehow I think that it was easier the last time I tried this. I guess not since I quit after 3 weeks. Not this time though. I plan to see it through.

Anyway, everyone keep up the good work. Sorry to be the downer of the day.
 
Kristi - Don't be so hard on yourself!!! I definitely know where you are coming from with the eating aspect! I have the same problem controlling my eating habits! We are lucky to have someone like Cathe to motivate us for workouts! We will just have to use each other for the nutrition portion! I was having really bad cravings last night.

Today I did MIS-UB. It was a great workout! Have an awesome day (or evening now on the East Coast)!!!
 
I am exactly the opposite of you guys. I am not a perfect eater, but I will flub on the workouts before the eating. Especially cardio, I really do not like it. The only reason I got my behind out of bed and into the basement this morning was I knew I only had to run on the treadmill for an 1/2 hour. Otherwise, I would have eaten, had coffee, and then done my workout. I am really going to try to always do my cardio first thing in the morning, and on an empty stomach. I had really good results last time I did this. I might not make it every time, but I am going to try. I will always eat before I lift weights, I just think it is better, and I lift better. Tomorrow will be tough, I like to take free day on Sat., but I am waiting until Sunday.

Hi guys! Kristi... I sware you could have written your post for me! I feel exactly like you. I have been so bad and have not stuck to this eating plan this week. I got in such a bad habit of eating bad when I started the Intensity series. Now, I need to GET OUT of it!

Here was my week...
-PMS!
-Worked from home 3 days this week due to a sick 2 year old...so was way too tempted by all the food in the house. I think I would have done better at work.
-Too many girlscout cookies in the cupboard
-Sooooo many cravings for carbs.....
-Been sooooooo hungry!

I so need all of your motivation on the diet! The workout is easy for me.... but the diet I need some help. I think once I get started it will be easier (I hope). I am promising myself I am going to start first thing tomorrow!

Lori S. - sounds like you are doing good on the diet! Keep it up! I think you are right... I am going to start doing my cardio on an empty stomach and see if it helps.

LoriHart - how have you been doing on the diet? I am going to order the journal tonight! Aren't you thinking of getting pregnant soon too??? I want to start trying in May or June and am so determined to lose some more weight before then! That would be sooo fun if we got pregnant around the same time.

Tomorrow I am doing Imax Extreme!!!!!!!

Do you guys ever combine cardio and weights or are you following it to a "t"?

I am trying to be a SUPER good girl b/c I am going down south in 10 weeks.So, I can't even finish the 12 week challenge but I figure by then I will be where I want to be.
I haven't cheated much.For something sweet in the evenings I have a tiny piece of a protein bar and yesterday I had about 3 spoon fulls of jello.Yesterday was my worst day ,I had a couple of bites of my daugthers hotdagx( What was I thinking? I don't even eat proceesed meat when I am not cut back!Then I took a handful of popcorn, with butter on it.
I don't feel like I am getting anywhere yet, only b/c I am not hungry.I tried BFL before for about 2weeks and this girl was hungry! This time around, I was hungry the first day and that was it.Yesterday I was hungry between breakfast and my snack.Then I was ready for Dinner last night.I didn't eat meal 6 either.It's nice not feeling hungry but I always feel like i am losing weight if I have been hungry.
I also got out of going out for supper and drinks last night.Now I have to come up with a plan for today!I just want to stay on track for the first 2 weeks b/c I always find that there are excuses why today should be your cheat day.I can't be eating wings and nachos on Day 3.Sure I probably could have went out for a salad and chicken but it would have been REALLY late to and then people would of been asking "how come your not having a drink"? Besides for that I have been out for the last 4 friday nights.Tired of that now.
I would like to get pregnat after we get back from our trip.I know you can't be fussy but I wouldn't mind going through christmas being about 5/6 monthes pregnat.I don't want to be uncomfortable.We haven't been using ANY protection since we got married in Oct 2001.And I haven't gotten pregnat yet.Which seems amazing to me b/c when I was 17 I though getting pregnat was the easiest thing in the world to do.Yep, we could help each other through our pregnancies.
Boy this is a long post....I was also thinking about doing cardio and weights.But I am wondering where I will fit it in.I love the terminator video.I think after 4 weeks of using the upper body pyramid, I am going to go to either slow and heavy,CTX upper and lower, or the PS series for four weeks.Then maybe go back to the pyramid.I can't imagine every week doing the same workouts.:+ I am so sore from pyramid lower body yesterday.I was lifting 30,40 and 50.I may even go up another notch next workout.
I love my Journal, keeps me right on track!
Anyway, I should shut up now.And save my energy for Imax 2

Hi girls! LuvCardio - We are going to try to get pregnant starting in May, too!! How fun if the three of us were all preggers at the same time!!
Anyway, I did C&W this morning - well, kind-of. I did the premix of cardio and compound weights. For the compound weights section, I used heavy weights and only did the leg work. This way, each muscle gets worked twice per week. I am trying to go heavy both upper body days and one day heavy and one day moderately heavy for legs. I really need to get rid of my saddle bags! I hope that all of you have a wonderful Saturday!! I got a babysitter and I am going to get a pedicure to celebrate the first week almost being done!
 
I had a really good week. My eating was perfect, so I am happy. I did all of my workouts, didn't miss one. I am kinda proud of myself!!!! I did the bonus workout of BC/ME this morning. I skipped the cardio parts. I am trying to limit my cardio to 3 times, and really concentrate on weights. I probably will not do anything in particular, just what I feel like doing that day. I use my BTR for lower body days. I love that thing!!!! My knees haven't bothered me at all since I started using that. I can feel the burn much better than with weights too. I hope it helps!!!! I am looking forward to tomorrow being my free day and having a couple of treats.

Sara/LoriHart - That would be sooo fun if we were all pregnant at the same time! I am sooo excited.

LoriHart - I have to say I think you are being too hard on yourself! You sound like you are doing really good and have been really following your diet! Don't fret about 1 hand of popcorn you silly girl:)

LoriSax- congrats on sticking to it!

I got my BFL pics back today. oh my gosh... I could have just died!Okay..... I am now motivated for the diet thing! I loook terrible. x( I can not believe it. I have been working out like crazy and still look like this. Obviously I am doing something wrong! I am now so motivated to try this BFL thing again (I did it after my 1st baby and had great results). I can not even tell you how much those pics depressed me and also motivated me. It makes me sick to look at them knowing all the workouts I have done. Yes, I have made progress over the past 5-6 months. But I think it could have been so much more if I would have gotten my eating under control.

I was re-reading the BFL book today. He really hits hard on not working out too many hours a day/week and that it is a waste of time. I think I have been eating way too much and the workouts have been just keeping me from getting fatter.

I am really going to put my heart into this thing starting today! I just hope I can keep up the motivation!

I am going to try the BFL 100% and then follow his weight/cardio schedule too. I am definitely going to do more than 20 minutes though and will probably work at least 1-2 days of total body in there. I am going to follow the weight plan though. I think I have maybe been over training my muscles w/all the Intensity series weights.

Today we ate at Chili's for lunch and I had the guiltless chicken platter. It was pretty yummy :9

Today I did an hour of cardio (Boot camp cardio, Step Jam 1 section and CTX 10-10-10 first 2 sections only) plus core from bootcamp.

Tomorrow I am doing PUB and then cardio again on Monday.

What are you guys doing for rotations?
 
LoriSax - Congrats to you on doing so awesome!!!! You SHOULD be very proud of yourself!!!!!!!!!
Luv Cardio - My pictures made me sick to my stomach!!! I have them posted on my bathroom mirror as a constant reminder and motivator! I should have them on my fridge, too, but I don't want to make everyone in the house sick to their stomach!! ;) I think that I was also overtraining AND overeating!! Here was my rotation this week:
Mon: CTX Upper Body
Tues: Blast Mania + BC core
Wed: Leaner legs
Th: Imax 1
Fri: MIS-Upper Body
Sat: C&W Premix w/compound weights only (I did heavy leg work during the compound wts. segment)
Sun: Off or easy cardio
I liked the way this felt! Next week I will probably sub Circuit Max for C&W with leg work instead of compound exercises. Keep us posted on what you decide to do and let us know if it is working for you!
