BFL Check In - Week 1

Today, I did PS Strong Legs. I wimped out on the abs, cause they were so sore from yesterday.
I used as heavy a weights as I could, and now I can hardly move. I hope I can tomorrow!!
I didn't make it to get protein powder, cause a winter storm came in, and I got iced in at home. See home videos are better than a gym cause I didn't have to go anywhere to get a great workout in.

Mine if I join in? I have been going to try so many things lately, it's not even funny.
When I did BFL before it was the only thing that kept my eating clean.I diffently need guidence.
I planned on picking it up again when Cathe put out her new series.I waited long enough.I have really been lacking motavation lately.I guess I will be starting off on a different day then everyone else.I went out and bought the success journal yesterday, so I think that it will be a great help by writing everything down.
I have to try something.All of my jeans are getting to tight.It's not b/c Of lack of excercise but my eating needs some serious work.
Anyway, off I go.Goodluck everyone...

Welcome aboard! The more the merrier. Last night was PLB. It went really well and today I am a little sore. I had to go a little lighter on the weights because, as most of you know, my tailbone is still healing. I would say that it is 90% healed and I don't want to injure myself further. Hopefully in the next week or two I will be able to go all out with the weight I usually use. Hope everyone is doing well so far. Keep up the good work!! :p :p :p
 
It is great to have you join us Lori!! We could all use a little support - that is what we are here for, lots of shoulders to lean on! ;)
Today was Leaner legs. I might do some Bowflex for hamstrings and glutes later today or the floor work from PLB. We'll see how my day pans out.
I just have so much more energy to get things done when I am eating right! Has anyone else noticed that??

I got a quick question.I know that a serving of bread on the package is two slices but in BFL is a serving of bread for a women only 1 slice? When I did BFL before I only use to make my sandwich with one slice of toast.
Well, this is my frist day.I got up at 6 and did PUB at 6:40, then I did Step and Intervals.Only b/c I could.It is so nice to have some structure to my workouts again.I know it as only been 1 day but I know whats comming.I know that all I have to do tomorrow is cardio.Instead of thinking about what I am going to do tomorrow or what I should do tomorrow.I got to have my first meal by 8:30.Then all of my meals for the rest of the day fell right into place.It is very important to start your day off right.Anyway, off I go again.

Hi Lori! It sounds like you are off to a great start!!:D Yes, in the BFL program, one slice of bread is a serving. Keep up the good work!!
 
I bought some Ekeziel bread, and I had 2 slices, twice today. OOPPSS..... I looked at the carb count, and in each piece it is only 15 grams of carbs. Oh well, I messed up a little today then. I will only have 5 meals today anyway. I did not get up when my alarm went off to do cardio, and I got up at 8. Man, I hate getting up that late. I have had a terrible headache for 2 days. I broke my neck when I was young, and my neck gets kinked up, I get bad headaches. I just did not want to get up today my head hurt so bad. So I ate my breakfast when I finally got up, and waited for 3 hours and did my cardio. I did Blast Mania from the Imax 2 DVD. WOW....I liked that better than regular Imax 2. I also got my MyoLites and my Betagen today from the UPS man. I am so ready for this and so excited to be a part of this group!!!! Tomorrow is Upper Body for me. I might do C&W, CTX UB, or my PUB, or maybe the Viper. I Have already done one heavy UB tape this week. I haven't decided. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Today was my first real BFL day. I started a bit yesterday but stayed more true to the diet today. (I did have 2 girls scount mint cookies tonight though:( I gotta get those outta here!

Today I did Imax Extreme but skipped thru most of the wt sections. I did Muscle Endurance with heavy weights tomorrow.

I agree with you LoriHart. I know both of us kinda went crazy with the Intensity series. It seems so good to have a plan and KNOW what I am doing. I feel so much better. The funny thing is I am starting to lose fat again since I quit working out so crazy the past week.

I am excited to be part of this group and really want to stay true to this diet. I really need the support of all of you!

I was so hungry today. I think it is due to the fact that I ahve been overeating so much the past month with the Intensity series and too much wt training. So, today every time I got really hungry and it wasn't meal time I had 1/2 a serving of fruit. It seemed to help... all up until the Girl Scout cookies were a callin' my name from the pantry!

Also.... don't forget... my friend was a winner of BFL in 2002! I'm going to get some pointers from her later this week.

Have you guys taken your pics yet?
 
Lorihart.... where did you "pick up" your journal? Can you get it somewhere other than online? I am thinking about ordering it too.

Also, in case anyone knows I made a pretty cool and simple spreadsheet for tracking workouts by week. It is just columns with 1 being "planned" and 1 being "actual". I use it to track my workouts. E-mail me if you want me to send it to you. It is in Excel.
 
I picked my book up at a Book Srore in the city.I was so excited when I found it b/c I didn't know if they would have it or not. I didn't want to purchase it from the website b/c of the exchage rate.I think you can orser it on the BFL website.
It was $40 which I think is going to help me stay on track b/c I can't waste $40 right? Everything is ready for you, all you have to do is write it in.
Well, we started the same day.I didn't want to wait until Monday.It only gives you more reasons to over eat for the next couple of days b/c you know you are going to be cutting back.
I was hungry to.I followed the diet to a T yesterday.But I did have a tiny piece of protein bar after my Dinner .I needed something sweet.I think I was hungry to b/c I have been over eating so much as well.I started stuffing myself at meals again and eating things that 2 yrs ago, I would never thought of eating.And the way I am feeling right now, I am going to have to catch up on some sleep tonight.

Phew...just did IMax2.I think I did better today then I have somedays when I am do it later in the day.When you think I would have more energy.I know that coffee is suppose to be limited but I HAVE to have one before I workout.That I will NEVER change no matter what Bill Philps might say:p
I thought first that I would only do 1/2 of Imax b/c we are only suppose to do 20 min.But I got into it and decided to keep going until I couldn't do anymore.And lucky enough, I made it to the end.I even did interval 9 with full force.
I did the runs last year and they were pretty hard.But I don't have a trendmill,i ain't go'in to the gym and it's to cold outside.So, I am going to stick to Imax 1,Imax 2,Step and intervals and 2 interval workouts I own by Mindy Mylera. Not all in the same wekk of course unless I want to be going to the hospital to see if anyone can do ankle replacements:+
Just wanted to let everyone know what I did.I dicided to do this on my own b/c I had been away from the forums for a couple of days and didn't even know there was a check-in for this.But I am so happy there is b/c I don't have anyone else to talk to it about.People who aren't doing it don't want to hear me talk about it all day.

Good morning!

Well last night I ran 2 miles on the treadmill for my cardio. Tonight however will have to be a rest day for me. I have Bunko (it is a dice game) tonight and I won't be back home until late. Also I can barely move from the PLB weight training and the 2 mile run. It would have been really funny if someone would have seen me try to walk down the stairs this morning.

So far I have noticed that I have been very hungry and tired lately. I may just be tired because of the gloomy weather. I'll be glad when my body adjusts to the new eating schedule. The hardest part so far has been giving up soft drink and being hungry. (I also gave up soft drink for Lent.) Next week will probably be better since my body will be adjusted.

Good Morning.....I am doing an UB this morning. I can't decide between The Viper and CTX UB. I don't want to do too much cardio, but I would like to do one of the Terminators a week. One thing I wanted to say is in last month's Muscle Media they were tAlking about free day. The article says that either once a week or twice a week you should load up on carbs. It produces some chemical if I remember correctly that makes you feel as though you are not starving your body. You will have to read the article, but I know I am 95% right on what I wrote. It says not to load up on fat things on free day, because those things will turn into just that, FAT. So, when I take a free day, usually on Sunday, I eat a couple of bags of Healthy Choice popcorn, some Melba Toast w/ lite Laughing Cow cheese, stuff like that. Have a good day everyone!!!

Where did you get your EAS supplements from? Was it a better deal than going to your local GNC or other nutrition store? I need to buy a meal replacement drink and bars this weekend, some creatine...don't think I need anything else at the moment.

Kristi - I've been really tired too but last night I made myself change into my workout clothes and once I started changing the plates on my barbell for the PLB workout I perked up a bit. I planned to stop after the standing work (this is what I told myself so that I would at least begin the workout) but after 20 minutes I was looking forward to doing the floorwork. And I was surprised to find that the workout was only 45 minutes. I was thinking it going to be an hour. My muscles were still trembling when I went upstairs to take a shower 15 minutes after the workout was complete! :) What a wonderful feeling that was!

Now to do some work! :(

My husband and I buy our protein powder at muscledepot.com. They are the cheapest place I have found for the powder we buy.
 
Hi everyone!! It sounds like you are all doing really well!! I noticed the same thing that you did LuvCardio - since I stopped doing splits, I have actually noticed better results! I think that I was overtraining. I'm sure that changing my eating habits has helped a great deal too! I am hungry often, like you guys mentioned, but we are supposed to be eating every 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Sometimes I feel like I never stop eating!! ;-)
Today I did Imax 1. I had a little trouble getting started, but once I did, I felt much better! Have a great day everyone!!!
 
I am not as hungry today as I was yesterday.I think it is b/c I did weight work yesterday.We mention how hungry we are,not starving,but well aware that we are hungry.I wonder if it is b/c we can only eat so much at a meal.Hopefully, our bodies will adjust itself later.
When you add up how many calories you actually eat in a day it isn't much.Lets see what I have eaten:
M1:1/2 bagel, peanut butter and 3 egg whites.=200 cals
M2:protein shake = 120 cals
M3: piece of ham and rice =200 cals
M4:protein shake =120 cals
M5:pita bread,chicken and slasa =250 cals
M6:cottage cheese and yogurt =180 cals
Of course I haven't eaten meal 5&6 yet.----------------

Not much hey? but I guess that's why we get our cheat day.
It's snowing here and I am off for the afternoon.I may lie down and catch up on some ZZZ's.I have gotten up at 6 for the last 2 mornings,(my mornings off)and haven't went to bed real early.Hopefully I will tonight.

I usually get all my supplements from Netrition.com. They are always here 3 days within ordering them. I always go to leanandstrong.com, and click on the supplements and order thru them. They get some kickback when you order thru their website, and I go there and lurk everyday. I have learned much from them. I did CTX Ub today, and I have to say that to me that is Cathe's hardest UB workout. That baby is a killer. I enjoyed every minute of it though. I got the new Muscle Media today and it looks like a good issue. I can't wait to look at it. I went to the grocery store today and was going to have my pics developed today but chickened out instead!!! Maybe next week.

I got up at 6:15 a.m., and did his Aerobic Solution this morning. WOW. I haven't done it in a long time. I did not run as fast as I used too, but I did better than I expected. I did 5 intervals though instead of four so I was on the treadmill 30 mins. I kinda liked the change from step tapes. I will probably do this a little more often and mix my Imax's in with it.
