Best HRM to buy?

Hi!! I just got a Polar F4 for Christmas and I really like it. I have small wrists and it fits good. Some of the others looked too big for me. It tells me the calories I burned and for how long I worked out. It was pretty easy to figure out and now I don't work out without it. Hope this helps.

I also have an F4, and I like it very much. Its smaller size is good for my woman's small wrist, and I found it easy to set up and use. Eventually, I might want the F11 which has more features, but I think that the F4 is a great starter HRM.

Hello,

I'm new to the forums, I read all the posts and it's very interesting that this topic has come up again, because I've wanted to buy a HRM, but I don't know anything about them. One question I have is do they all come with the belt that goes around your chest? I would really like to invest in one, as I would like to know how many calories are burned and so I could stay in my THR. I think that would give me a push to keep going or should I say go stonger.

Thanks,
Sandy:)

Sandy...the majority of the HR monitors do come with a chest strap. I think that would be the most accurate way to measure your Heart Rate. I have used one for about 15 years and can hardly even think about working out (doing cardio) without one!! ...:)...Carole

My dh got the M32 for me for Christmas. I've worn it every workout since I got it. I really like seeing where my heartrate is during a workout. The link Carole provided has a comparison chart on there that may help you decide which one to get.

Good luck finding the right one!

Thanks so much for the info Carole, I really just don't know too much about these things. I'm gonna get one, and thanks for the link...I've checked it out and it's very interesting. I think this will help me with my workouts, and anything that can push me is always a good thing!

Hi Dallas,

I just looked at the website again that Carole gave, and I read more about the M32 and I really like what it has to offer. I just wonder, does the strap bother you, I mean I know it's something I would have to get use too, but other than that it really sounds good, all of them did, but I like the beeping if I'm not in my target heart zone. I've got to save for it, gotta get something before my preorders come in. ;-)

Hi Sandy,

The first few times I wore it bothered me, but now I don't even notice it. I had the sound on, but then turned it off. I just realized from the above link that the M series is being replaced by the F series. I wonder why? I like mine, but this is my first one and have nothing to compare it to.

HTH!:)

I got a Timex 5C361 from walmart.com. It was cheaper than anywhere I had looked. I think it comes with pretty many features for the price. And I like how the batteries on the chest strap are replaceable so you don't have to send it away or purchase a new strap when the battery dies. It's been a big help and a huge motivator for me so far, and I'm REALLY GLAD I purchased it! :) HTH!

Acutally is there just a basic HRM to buy? I don't think I need any of the ones with the charts, etc. I just want to make sure I am in my training zone while working out. Thanks!!! :)
