Baylian - Workout Area

Cathlete
We finally got a new camera so I took a few pic's of my workout area. I feel blessed to have this room.
A couple months back I was accused of not being a true Catheite and more or less being a troll ~ I hope this puts that all to rest. Just in case anyone needed to be reminded of what was said to me here it is . .

"Oh bayliannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, I'm still waiting for answers to my questions...............I guess you really aren't into exercise & are so incredibly sad & desperate for attention that you have to continually stir up trouble on fitness forums where you have no place.

Alrighty, giving you one more chance to show you actually DO excercise, here they are again:

What's your favorite Cathe DVD?
What's your favorite Cathe ab routine?
How long is your favorite Cathe ab routine?
What's Cathe's toughest circuit w/o?
What's Cathe's toughest cardio?

What's that you say? No answer? No answer at all? Could that perhaps be b/c you DON'T EXERCISE?????? LMAO! Because you're only here to stirr up trouble? HMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

Yep, that's what I thought.

P.S. According to your profile you've been exercising for almost a decade. You must be in amazing shape! Can you post some pics please?

Yep, that's what I thought."

OK - I must tell the story

When we bought this house in 1994 there was a clause in the contract that the sellers would be able to remove the mirrors and take them to their new house. Fine and dandy . .

Then I receive a phone call from my DH and he says that the guy who put the mirrors up for them was asked to come back and remove them and he had put too much glue on them so in order for them to remove them they would have had to cut them out and repair all the dry wall and pay for it.

The mirrors stayed . . .BONUS! I felt bad at first but realized that they are both doctors and were moving to a way bigger house than this and had no kids - so then I put it all in perspective. They are now friends of ours.

And they were P.O.'d at the guy who put them up . . .

The mirrors are great....and I am an enabler.....you need more videos, ha! I don't take pictures of all of mine, because you would all think I am crazy....or maybe not.

Very nice wo room!! Love the mirrors, the beagle!!, and the pretty colored risers!! Where did you get those? Mine are boring, grey, balck & I do have 2 purple (7 total). Would love your pretty colors!

Thanks for sharing

You all have the best workout rooms!! Maybe someday when we're no longer po' we'll be able to redo our basement for me! :D

The whole set up is awesome, especially the dumbbell rack! And Bayley is adorable. :)

Is that a drum set I see? My 10 year old wants to learn in the worst way, but I can't tell if this is a phase or if she's serious.

Baylian - I have to ask - do the mirrors help with form? The few times I have been brave enough to venture to the gym for weight workouts, I feel weird staring at myself in the mirrors but I think it really helps with correcting form/posture/stance, etc. I would love to have the mirrors at home.

Someone on this forum crazy with owning DVDs or workout equipment, get out of town ......:D

So spill it, Dorothy, how many workout DVDs do you have?:D:D:D

Nice workout room, Baylian!! I wish I had one, I am still dancing around in front of my TV in our living room :( Love your workout partner, too, very cute puppy!!!!:D

I'd LOVE to have those mirrors in my workout room!

I guess I need to count them, because truly, I don't know, lost track a long time ago, and STS and CLX are on their way.

I don't have mirrors, but since it is very dark at 4:30 am, I use my patio doors and it helps for form checking.

My husband built me a rack for all my dumbells, and I bought a rack for the weight plates I have. We then converted my at home office(I work in the office now, worked at home for 17 years), into a storage area for all my work-out equiptment. We have floor to ceiling cabinets that hold my weighted vest, risers, balls, weighted and otherwise, and ankle weights, paper plates, you name it. The barbells are hanging on hooks, the bands are in hanging baskets along with squishy weighted balls and tubing. I love my weight store room, best thing we did.

Right now my bike is indoors because my husband bought a trainer for me, plus I don't have a good place for the mini-tramp, bosu and balance board. Let's just say I have been collecting for years, but DH does not mind because he knows I use it.

I don't know if I want to know how many I have on hand (on hand = not including the around-100 or so I have boxed to Ebay, or the hundreds I've gotten rid of over the years!). I'm sure it's close to 200, if not over (now that I look at my bookcase, it's got to be over!)

That sounds like a great workout room, Dorothy and so organized!!!! Wow!!!

We have a built-in entertainment center in the living room and one of the huge drawers holds all my dumbbells, barbell plates, dynabands, etc., my yoga stuff is in a large wicker basket and my high step, step, barbells and body bars are in my coat closet - needless to say there is no room for any coats :D

My DVDs are in my coffee table which has 3 drawers. The only DVDs I have these days are Cathe DVDs and Namaste Yoga. My other DVDs are boxed up to be sold on eBay, since Cardio Coach, Cathe and Yoga are the only exercises I have been doing, and in my constant quest of decluttering and applying the 6-months rule I decided to get rid of the rest of the DVDs.

I can't imagine having that many DVDs , I wouldn't know what exercise to do every day - kinda like in a Chinese restaurant- too many choices make me confused and indecisive ;)
