Bare Essentials

Anyone try this makeup line yet? I am fourty and am looking for something that is light, with coverage, non greesy with some spf. The only thing is, this product you have to order off tv. There is no place to try it unless you buy it and then return it if you don't like it via mail.

Yeahs or nays on this one?

My daughter uses it and really likes it. I think she orders hers off the internet though. As far as the "yays or nays", I can't say, I haven't tried it myself.

I know this probably hasn't helped you, sorry.

Yes it is the best makeup ever! I switched over to this makeup 4 years ago and i will never go back to any liquid or anything again. It feels like you have nothing on your face and believe it or not it covers so well and your face just looks so creamy and flawless. I use to break out all the time using other makeup but this keeps my face so clear:)

Oh Yeah Baby - this stuff is AWESOME!!! I wanted something quick and easy because I'm not all about makeup, but like to look like I'm "put together" ya know? And, this is the ticket for sure.

I thought I was going to have to order it over the TV, too, but I checked on the website and found a store at the Mall of America here in Minnesota so I went there to get it.

I'd give it a try if I were you, you can always return it.

Good luck,
Marcia.

I decided to go ahead and order it so I did and they are offering some free gift too.
It was also a toss up between this and that Leeza Gibbons makeup which seems to be a copy of this one. The turn off with the Leezas product is that she uses celebs to endorse her product. I get sooooo turned off when they do that because I feel they are paying these celebs to promo their product. That cost is always reflected in the price you pay for the product so I don't care if Melissa Gilbert uses it, if I have to pay extra money just to hear her say she uses it, forget it! Thats whats so disgusting about that Proactive product. They are paying celebs in the two million dollar range to say they use the stuff and guess who pays for it??

Oh anyway I will let you know how I like this product. I think I will.

I just started using it 2 weeks ago and am really impressed! I am 43 w/ tons of sun damage and liquid makeup was always awful for me! I am now also experiencing perimeno breakouts and anything used to make matters worse....until now! I am thrilled I found this product.. I do all this over the internet and have found their only customer service very helpful.

I'm in my 50's and have been using it for 2 years. I really like it. It's easy and covers well. They do sell it at Sephora...at least they have it at the Sephora store in the Beechwood Mall, (Cleveland area). It's worth a shot. And it's no more expensive than Estee Lauder or Clinic.

I use Bare Escentuals. I get mine from QVC, which has an excellent, no-hassle return policy. There are some Bare Escentuals stores around the US. You can find where they are by visiting the Bare Escentuals website.

I have been an avid BE user for over 5 years! I will be 34 next month and live in Florida. Started using it when I moved here.

LOVE IT!!! I also have noticed a huge trend towards this type of makeup and believe that BE was the first. I also use Senna (same type, just a little softer feeling), but love BE.

We don't have an Ulta store where I live, but I make sure and hit one everytime we visit family and stock up!

The glimmer eyeshadows and awesome and the powder/liquid eyeliner is super easy to use.
Oh, don't forget, all the eye colors can be used on the lips, too, if you find a gorgeous color that would work as lipstick (just dip your balm/gloss tip into the color and apply), they are all safe like that.

I have worn this foundation for 2 years. I'll not go back to a liquid. Once I knew which one to buy I started to get it off ebay.
It's less there. Garilee

I'm 42 and have been using BE for about 6 months and I love it. Key is light application and plenty of buffing for a natural look. BTW, my daughter is 24 and I let her try mine and it didn't look so good. You may want to go to Sephora or some other store where you can try it before you buy it.

I had looked into these but thought you had to sign up to have monthly shipments or whatever which I don't want. Maybe I will look on ebay.

I love this make-up! I ordered Bare Essentials off the tv several years ago. I love the non-caky feel, I don't have to put it on thick to get coverage where I need it.

I now buy it at Ulta or Sephora, 2 make-up/beauty supply stores in my area.

I cannot wait to get this stuff now! It seems the ladies who like it most are those in their fourties plus which is good for me. I didn't want that 'makeup' type of makeup that feels heavy and takes forever to wash off. Nor do I like the 'makeup' look, you know, like you look like a totally differnt person without your makeup. Thats not for me. I like the natural look, so we shall see.

Anyone try that Leeza product?

Question for all you over 40's: I have quite a few crows feed and lines under my eyes. Does the BE make them more apparent like any of the typical liquid or powdery OTC makeup? (I have dry skin and whenever I put on makeup it makes me looked even more wrinkled) ;(

Jacque-
43 and face is quite wrinkled for my age due to being a lifetime sun worshiper. BE doesnt "hide" those crows feet but its the only product that I've ever tried that doesnt accentuate them. For me thats all I can ask for at this stage in life!
I also use a "Face primer" first (BE has one but I just wabt to use up what I alreadt had... The "primer acts as a "smoother" for the face so products don't seem to settle in those line areas as well as provides a smooth surface for any product.
Just my experience.

Don't you have a Sephora store near you? There seems to be one every few blocks in Manhattan. I tried Bare Escentuals at a Sephora last year and maybe it was the lighting in the store, or maybe the salesperson chose the wrong color for me, but I looked so yellow!

The next time I pass a Sephora store and have some time, I'm going to give it another try. If I like it, I'll write down the products and order them from QVC, which probably offers better prices than Sephora.

Let us know if you like it.
