I am so inspired by Cardio Coach, and since Sean O' has mentioned Maclaren, and now you have, I am checking him out too.

I am so glad everyone is posting their positive, motivational, inspirational messages - it spreads the happiness around.:D:D
Janis, do you have the Press Play workout? It's a must have for anyone who loves Cardio Coach. It's probably one of, if not THE most motivational and inspirational workouts. It's an exercise for the mind, body, and soul! It's available on Jim MacLaren's webiste -- Sean donated the workout to the Choose Living Foundation. http://www.jimmaclaren.com/shop.htm

ETA that a group of us does this workout on the last Saturday of the month and we'd love for you to join us. We always post a thread right here in the OD forum.

~ I beg you ... to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer ... (Rainer Maria Rilke) ~

What a wonderful thread. Thanks for starting it and also to everyone who contributed!

Love the Peter Marshall quote - so true - you can't grow beyond something if there hasn't been resistance to begin with.

Love your workout mantra too. I like to think the burn is my cellulite on fire!

If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission. Grace Hopper (She's right and thanks to her my work has gotten far more interesting and rewarding)

Fun thread. :)

Hey Beavs, I have been reading the Wiki entry for Grace Hopper, such an inspiration, I wish I had known her.

The ancedotes are great!

- received the nickname "Grandma COBOL" -
-her associates discovered a moth stuck in a relay and thereby impeding operation, whereupon she remarked that they were "debugging" the system. Though the term computer bug cannot be definitively attributed to Admiral Hopper, she did bring the term into popularity.

And this quote: "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is built for."

Thanks for sending me her way. What an amazing person. I love her 1984 photo!

Helen Keller Quotes

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.

It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our powers, but for powers equal to our tasks, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.

Life is either a great adventure or nothing.

Wow! Some of these are super-duper great!! :D Love the Corrie Ten Boom one.

This is from a song I love called More to This:

There's more to life than being born and dying
There's more to life than slowly growing old
If we are wise
We'll keep our eyes on Jesus
Or miss out on the very thing
That God has made us for

Third Day

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor Roosevelt

This is my favorite, but I'm not sure who said it:
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

This is a great thread!

This quote was inside the cap of my Honest Tea yesterday.

"Things turn out best for the people who make the best of they way things turn out." John Wooden

His Wiki says he is a retired Basketball coach - I cut and paste the following from his page.

Seven Point Creed

John Wooden's Seven Point Creed, given to him by his father Joshua upon his graduation from grammar school:

* Be true to yourself.
* Make each day your masterpiece.
* Help others.
* Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.
* Make friendship a fine art.
* Build a shelter against a rainy day.
* Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.

Wooden also has authored a lecture and a book about the Pyramid of Success.[19] The Pyramid of Success consists of philosophical building blocks for winning at basketball and at life. He is also the author of several other books about basketball and life.

Some new quotes and thoughts for today -

We have to go for what we think we're fully capable of,
not limit ourselves by what we've been in the past
Vivek Paul

You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself
Galileo

Throughout all history, the great wise men and teachers, philosophers,
and prophets have disagreed with one another on many different things.
It is only on this one point that they are in complete and unanimous agreement.
We become what we think about.
Earl Nightingale

ETA: or "we become what we meditate on" or "we become what we put our attention on."

"Advise is what you ask for when you already know the answer, but wish you didn't. "

And on a post it note beside my computer screen:

"Stay focused on your goals. Practice willpower and don't let anyone - not even yourself - tell you that you can't. "

I have been focused on this for a few days...

"There are no accidents in a Universe directed by a Source energy that creates endless real magic in the form of its creations." -Wayne Dyar

Cardio Coach Volume 7 has propelled me to add to this collection of positive, motivational and inspiration quotes -

"To dream anything that you want to dream, that is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do, that is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself, to test your limits, that is the courage to succeed."
Bernard Edmonds
