Athletic Step

I have been thinking about getting Athletic Step for a while and this week it is the featured download. Is it just me or does the energy level seem a bit low? I have only seen the short clip but the music seems a little boring and everyone sort of seems like they are going through the motions but not really having a lot of fun.

Sometimes when they are just clips you don't really get a good idea of what the feel of the whole workout is so I would love to hear some other comments. For some reason Athletic Step and Step Moves seem to remind me of the low impact workouts where you don't do a lot of jumping around and when you do it is kind of grounded. Are they like that?

I think Step Moves is a bit more "grounded" as you say, but it's definitely a go to when I need a workout to get me going and get me groovin'. Definitely a mood uplifter for me!

Athletic Step ( and you're right, the clips don't show all) is definitely a bit more intense. The intensity is layered in each segment, and there's even a blast at the end of the segments (kind of like Step Blast), and I love the music later in the routine. You'll hear clips of "Let it Rock" (which revs me right back up at that sticky point of the workout), and even a hint of Lady Gaga at the beginning of the cool down. I love that workout! HTH?

I just did Athletic Step for the first time last weekend. I did it with two risers and found it very challenging. I got a great workout since I start sections over when I don't get the footwork right away. It's definitely a fun, energetic workout that I'll use again!

I just did Athletic Step yesterday. There's a lot packed into this workout, especially if you are short on time. The routine is fairly easy to learn. Personally I prefer more of an athletic step over dancier moves, so this one works well for me.

Hi Amyleew

I got Athletic Step and Step Moves together and I agree with Pinny150, Athletic Step is certainly much more energised. In fact the second time I did it I raised my step height and I was so winded by the time we reached the blast that I needed to rest up for a bit. The moves are easy to get but still fun and enjoyable.

My workout pattern is 4 days on and 3 days off - I'd like to space it out more across the week but that's the only way it fits in with my work life, so when I start on day one I'm usually fatigued and need to go light following 3 long days with early starts so I'd use Step Moves that morning and then increase my workout intensity days 2, 3 + 4.
