Congrats! That kind of thing doesn't happen to me anymore. I am over 40 - I don't even get carded anymore :( But my husband does!

It's a compliment!

Something similar happened to me once -- back in 1993! A landscaper came to our door and asked me if my father was home. I yelled to DH, "Dad, there's someone here to see you!"

As soon as he saw DH, he realized his mistake!

You know, I'd pay money to have that happen again! :D (not likely!)

That is great :) I get that when people call - good grief people, my voice is not THAT high pitched!!! Remember this day, my friend :D

That is how it is where I live. All our homes are on at least 2 acres, many have 7 acres. It is a long walk through our subdivision.
Kate be careful opening the door for strangers. We don't live in a safe world.:( I always tell unannounced guests(through the door) that I do not see anyone without an appointment.

WOO HOO!!!! that had to make you feel good! I USED to get that but now that I'm over 50 , not so much.

ITA!! Actually, I never ever answer my door unless I'm expecting someone. I usually go to a window where I can see out and I'll only answer if it's a delivery -- mail, UPS, FEDEX, or DHL... or flowers. :D

Cynthia, I know what you mean. We live on a 112 acre farm with a somewhat long lane...I won't even answer the door if I don't recognize the car(or the person at the door)!!!!!!!!!You never know....Kay

So what was your reply to him Kate? That is funny!

I occassionaly get thaton the phone. I tell them no, they are in Florida. :D

good point, cynthia!

however, i let my great dane out the door the same time i opened it!:D:D
mufasa totally slimed the poor guy!:p

There have been so many reports of home invasions on our local news lately. We had an incident with a stranger knocking at our door 4:30am with a bizarre request. I talked with my subdivision trustee and found out we have had 5 homes robbed this past year. Each home owner experienced a strange visitor before it happened. Apparently, this is how they figure out how many people are in the house.

If anyone were to watch our home, they would know I'm home alone during the day. I hate to be suspicious, but I can't help it now. :(

cynthia, i remember you posting that! id still be scared!
we were robbed when i was little - we were home. i still am creeped out by that!

there was a creepy guy hanging out in front of our house & our neighbors a cpl months ago.
neighbor called the police but the guy was gone by then.

although nothing is fail-safe, i do feel safer having a large dog patrolling the property for when im home alone.
when dh is home i always feel safe - he's got big guns (biceps!) and big guns (guns!).

There have been a few break/ins last year during the DAY! hopefully two dogs at 80 lbs. each will make someone think twice (?)I too am home alone during the day. Just be careful!

Don't you just love it!

My poor husband is constantly told that he has 3 lovely children. I just laugh my butt off! I am one of the kids now and I'm 34 years old!
