we're on a country-ish road.....you cant really hit a lot of houses on our road
ITA!! Actually, I never ever answer my door unless I'm expecting someone. I usually go to a window where I can see out and I'll only answer if it's a delivery -- mail, UPS, FEDEX, or DHL... or flowers.Kate be careful opening the door for strangers. We don't live in a safe world. I always tell unannounced guests(through the door) that I do not see anyone without an appointment.
That is how it is where I live. All our homes are on at least 2 acres, many have 7 acres. It is a long walk through our subdivision.

Cynthia, I know what you mean. We live on a 112 acre farm with a somewhat long lane...I won't even answer the door if I don't recognize the car(or the person at the door)!!!!!!!!!You never know....Kay
There have been so many reports of home invasions on our local news lately. We had an incident with a stranger knocking at our door 4:30am with a bizarre request. I talked with my subdivision trustee and found out we have had 5 homes robbed this past year. Each home owner experienced a strange visitor before it happened. Apparently, this is how they figure out how many people are in the house.
If anyone were to watch our home, they would know I'm home alone during the day. I hate to be suspicious, but I can't help it now.
