Are all Catheites peanuts????

I'm not a peanut either....never have been...never will be....but I love peanuts, peanut butter, peanut M&M's, peanut butter cookies....}( :D

I love peanuts. Love peanuts. LOVE!

Anyway, I am 5'8" and 130 lbs and I weigh a size 4 or 6 depending. In a zero, I'd be dead.

Hey....I am a peanut and I love to eat em too!! Five foot nothing in shoes and 109 pounds, almost forty and for the first time in my life I look in the mirror and say.....jeeze don't you look great today!! I wear a solid size 6 though, sometimes I can sneak into a 4, but I tell you I do not see myself getting into a smaller size. There is very little "icky" stuff left on my hips, so I think your body structure is what it is and that is that. I have to wear petite sizes, since I am so short....but good stuff is hard to find. The petite section of most stores is still full of too much polyester! But peanuts or not the name of the game is FITNESS! My husband is always yelling at me about fussing about the # on the scale. We are a strong, fit healthy bunch. Take care, Donna.

I think I need to jump on this train!. I'm 44, 5'4" and weigh about 128. I think my best weight is 120 which is usually a size 4 and kinda out of reach for some reason. :) I wear a 6 now. Might be because I have had to stop my running so much due to an Achilles Tendinitis injury. Or maybe birth control...or even not eating quite right. And as far as I am concerned if you feel good...that is awesome. Who cares about the scale. Think about the other women our ages that have never exercised??? I seem to keep going back to that. All of you...keep up the good work!!!! :D

I SO agree with you! I'm 46, and most women my age don't workout, and don't eat right, and look like lumpy, large bags of flour! I'm not saying this to be cruel, but it's true. I'm an RN, and I take care of adults in CCU. I've seen many many women younger than me who look ten years older, are out of shape, already have chronic health problems because of their unhealthy lifestyles, and they certainly don't have my muscles!! NO ONE believes I'm 46. When people guess my age, they never guess higher than 35, and I recently had someone guess me at 29!! LOL!! We are a FIT, HEALTHY, BEAUTIFUL group of women, at each of our ages and sizes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are "Catheites", and we are GORGEOUS !!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ehm... define PEANUT please? I'm assuming from the posts above that being a "peanut" means being "tiny?" That's not me then.

I am 5'4" and haven't weighed myself in years. I can tell you however, that in early 2000 I had a physical during which time I learned I weighed nearly 170. I wore a size 12 to 14 then.

I started working out with Cathe not long after that. My last bout with the scale told me 140 lbs - that was OVER two years ago. I was in a size 10 at that point. These days I wear a size 6 and have no idea what I weigh, I go by how my clothes fit me. I've never felt better!

;-)

I have to say Carol.....from another Carole....couldn't have been said any better..Fit, Heathly and Beautiful! :)

The definition of peanut, according to Alexis the Moose, is being 5'4 or under (preferably 5'2" or under) and a size 0 or 2. However, I am in the process of defining 2 subcategories: the almond who is 5'6" or so and a size 2-4; the cashew who is 5'6" or under and a size 6-10. Me? I'm the original nut!

:p Alexis

HMMM ... I'm 5'2" and a size 6 (close to 4). I guess that would make me what ... a pecan, perhaps? ... LOL!!

Hello!

I'm 5'7" and weigh anywhere between 137 to 142 lbs. some people consider me slim. I have tooth pick legs and carry my weight around the middle. Cathe's ab workouts sure have helped. I don't have the "perfect body" but I am fit! But I would rather be "me",right now and enjoy food and wine ( I love to cook) then be super slim and cut and my taste buds miserable. I do try to eat right, but if I want a sweet or a glass of wine I go for it! I think there is too much pressure on women to have a certain look. If you are happy with yourself and feel beautiful on the inside it will show on the outside. OOPs I'm off on my soap box..... I'm a size 6 or 8 depending on the cut or manufacturerer of the clothes. And YES I'm happy at my size and love working out to Cathe! She has the best workouts in the industry!
Sorry to ramble.....
Jen

No peanut here, either. I'm 5'10.5, 187 pounds, size 10, 6.5" wrist. I wore a size 3 in sixth grade (and I wasn't fat), so I'd say I must have been a size 0 somewhere around age 6 or 7. I'm not likely to wither away to that size again until I reach the crematorium.

I must be a slivered almond; they look rectangular, don't they? Alexis, you are definitley the original nut! And I'm not just ribbing you, he he!

I figure it's a good thing I can't get Cathe abs. If I did, I have to show them off. I might start dressig like Britney Spears and you can imagine how embarrasing that would be for my family, particularly my fourteen-year old daughter, who definitely thinks I am NUTS! Nope, it's a god thing, I can't have Cathe abs!

Bobbi, I have had sooo much fun with this thread! Maybe you could win a Brittany Spears look-alike contest. Your daughter would LOVE that. Ya know what's really scary? I'm a teacher; I mold young minds! Just don't tell anyone, OK?

I must be shopping at the wrong stores. I wear my clothes pretty baggy but I can't imagine fitting into a size 8. And I swear I don't have a big butt. A big mouth, yes! So I'll go for the JLo look and you can be Brittany. I think we've got a plan here!

This is not a slam on anyone who is a size 0 or 2. You have to wear the clothes that fit you.

I consider myself a feminist. I also believe our society is hostile to women, especially in the realms of fashion and beauty. It just makes me sick inside to consider the metaphorical/philosophical implications of labeling women as a size "0", as if we are nothing or don't exist. Zero is nothing!

The simple fact is that our society does not like big women. We get in the way. We can't be ignored. A size zero, on the other hand, doesn't take up much space. The smaller a women is, the more she is praised for being small. It doesn't metter if she is fit or not. Women are NEVER praised for getting big (unless we are making babies, which an entirely different thread).

Again, this is not a slam on the women here who are doing great things to take of themselves. I am not saying you are nothing. I am not talking about morbidly obese people either. That is something entirely different, where a person's weight is a medical threat.

I understand there are "big" women in the public eye, but they are by far the exception and not the rule.

For the record, I am 5'2" and weight 158. I wear a size 10 or 12 depending on the clothes. I am certainly not a peanut!

Please be kind!

Susan G.

Jeez Susan, I think you just broke up the party. We're just playing and having fun. Sorry if I offended you. I started this thread cuz I had this feeling that most Cathe people are, well, short. Another thread mentioned size 0. Then I started thinking that most Cathe people are short AND petite. I don't consider myself tall at 5'8" so I must be hanging around Amazon women or something.

What you have to say is all true. It's just not in keeping with the spirit of this thread. My apologies for hitting on a subject that you take very seriously. I am kind, although a bit sassy today. If you don't want to be a peanut, you don't have to be.....we'll make you a machadamian.

You say this isn't a slam, but it sure reads that way. Also, society isn't labeling the woman a size 0 ... it's labeling the CLOTHES a size 0. You say big women "get in the way", and make reference to "we", so I'm assuming you see yourself as "big", yet you say you're a size 10 or a 12. That's not "big". The average size today for women in this country is 12 or 14, so 10 or 12 is not "big". Truthfully, I'm having trouble understanding what exactly it is you're so upset about. Are you saying we're slamming you? Are you saying we're slamming big women? Are you saying society as a whole labels people by putting numbers on clothing labels? Or are you just one pissed off woman in general? That's the way it sounds to me, but of course that's only my insignificant perception here. I could be wrong. No one here was slamming women, or slamming a size, or slamming society. We were just having fun.

Carol

Hopefully we will continue to have fun and not create another of those embarassing endless emotional threads (EEEs).

Let's make fun of dogs with short legs or people who still wear fashions from the 60s. How about old men who still wear hair grease and Elvis haircuts.

>You say this isn't a slam, but it sure reads that way. Also,
>society isn't labeling the woman a size 0 ... it's labeling
>the CLOTHES a size 0.

But who decides how to label the clothes? They don't label themselves!

You say big women "get in the way", and
>make reference to "we", so I'm assuming you see yourself as
>"big", yet you say you're a size 10 or a 12. That's not
>"big". The average size today for women in this country is 12
>or 14, so 10 or 12 is not "big".

Considering my height/weight many people would call me "big". In fact, arccording to height weight charts, which I know are dubious, I am "morbidly obese" although to look at me you wouldn't think so.

I have been a size 14, in all its manifestations, since about age 10. I've been a size 16 as well. I know what it's like to be gawked at while people watch you put food on your plate. I've endured comments from family members, people who meant well, and even strangers asking me "when am I due". The hurt just can't be expressed.

Truthfully, I'm having
>trouble understanding what exactly it is you're so upset
>about. Are you saying we're slamming you?

NO!

Are you saying
>we're slamming big women?

NO! But I teach small children and isn't it sad that I already hear 5th grades girls talking about how fat they are?

Are you saying society as a whole
>labels people by putting numbers on clothing labels?

Our society, popular culture, to be exact, talks a good line about how beauty is on the inside, but when you look at what's on the TV, in the movies, or in print, it's all externals.

Or are
>you just one pissed off woman in general?

No, actually I have a pretty good sense of humor.

That's the way it
>sounds to me, but of course that's only my insignificant
>perception here. I could be wrong.

Unfortunately I think one post expressing my frustration makes it easy to peg me as pissed off - LOL!

Sorry to be a party pooper. Sometimes I really regret opening my mouth.
