I omit my age at times, I find that usually men don't ask my age whereas women may inquire. I may ask a woman's age only because I think older women are looking particularly great these days. Most of the really good looking women I see these days are older, so in that respect it's inspiring. In that case I would want to know someone's age, because I think, you go girl!!! Oh yeah and I think it's important for younger women to see that older women can still look very good.

I lie on occassion but I ALWAYS go the other way...I'll say I'm a year older than I actually am. Once I am 6 months post my birthday, I "round up":7 No, seriously, I do. Like right now...I claim to be 33 but really I am 32 years 10 months and 6 days.

I really think it defeats the purpose to lie about your age and claim to be younger than you really are. All that makes people think is "Wow, she's young but looks older..." If your 45 and look 40'ish...what's the point in saying your 37??.

If your going to lie...ADD years so that people can say "Wow, she looks great for her age". Say your 45 and look 40'ish...say your 50!

>I am 34 and most people don't believe me. People have a hard
>time believing I have three kids too. :)

I can see why people don't believe your age Sabrina. I thought you were someone's daughter on the road trip. No lie!! :D

No, I'm too young to be lying about my age yet. ;) I'm 27, and I probably look to be about 27. Although I was recently carded when I tried to buy root beer. (The cashier didn't realize those brown bottles weren't actually BEER bottles) ;)

Oh my gosh, Emily! Too funny!!! :D

This age thing is just so funny.
In my skin care business the thing I hate the most when people aske me -- thank God very rarely -- how old do I think they look like. What is it, fishing? And of course I don't want to hurt anybody's feeling so I usually say real age minus 10 to make people happy. But it is so pointless. Most peole -- unless they blessed with some fantastic genes -- look just as old as they are. But they can look absolutely fantastic and they can look real bad for their age. Just MHO...:) Mari

I don't lie about my age I just don't tell it. I think that a lot of people put too much emphasis on age when it's really just a number and it's not that important. I just turned 27 and in some situations or places that's old and in others that's young so I just don't tell my age. I recently went to new doctor to get an exam and they wanted to see an adult with me LOL I wasn't wearing any make-up or fancy clothes. Just jeans a white t-shirt and sunglasses. I asked the nurse "what are you talking about?" and she said "if you're not 18 yet you need to be with an adult" WTH?! I laughed and said I'm in my 20's and I showed her my ID and she couldn't believe it. That's why I try to wear make-up every time I go out, otherwise I'd look like a teenager and people don't take me seriously.

I don't lie about my age and I have never understood why it is offesinve to ask someone else's age. (I don't do it, because I know some people don't like to be asked.) But I have always thought that if you are going to lie about your age, it is better to say that you are much older so they tell you: "Wow! ...and you look much younger!"
..."Soooo, I am 37, but look! I look 10 years younger ;-) !)

(Seriously, I'm 27, close to 28)

I'm with Sarah on this one.

When I was 30, I started telling people I was 10 years older than I really was. Ha, it was fun to see people amazed. Now, that I am 45, I cut it back to 8 years. When shopping, I sometimes tell people that my girls (ages 6 and almost 10) are my grandchildren. fun, fun, fun.
