Anyone going to see Revenge of the Sith????

I am really looking forward to seeing it but refuse to go when films are first released (except for Lord of the Rings which always came out as a birthday present FOR ME.) I didn't really sit and watch "Send in the Clones" or the other one, whatever it was called, but this one looks cool. Weren't they reiled by OLD Star Wars fans? I haven't seen the originals since my youth and I think I'll wait to rent them until after I see "Sith. I should be ashamed of myself, old woman that I am, but young Hayden Christenson is a hottie! Grrrrr!

I just got back from seeing it and I liked it! Left me slighhtly depressed but thats just knowing THATS IT no more starwars movies. Oh well such is life. Now I am looking forward to the willy wonka movie in july. I love Johnny Depp :)

OK, went to see it last night. It WAS good! I say that surprised because I did not like Episode 1 and my DH reminded me that I did not see #2 (just had a baby). Shelley you won't be disappointed it's nothing like Titanic and well, Darth does kick some butt. Bobbi, you're right Hayden Christenson is hot! :)

Now I'll have to watch Episode 2. My time is it worth, do you think? (A little Yoda!)

Bobbi, don't feel ashamed, as I think he is hot in this movie, too. Except for me, it has nothing to do with how he really looks. I have a very strange obsession with bad boys. I love it when he kicks @ss in this movie and he has that intense look in his eye, especially the one that is scarred, like he will kill anything that even blinks the wrong way. I loved Joaquin Pheonix as the emporer in Gladiator because he was so intense and mean and POWERFUL. I absolutely loved Lancelot in King Arthur because he was so passionate and fiery and killed that way. I think that I have a serious problem! Or maybe not. I married the most gentle and loving man on earth. (Go figure!) I think that I am just playing out my fantasies with the bad boys! :p

My daughter saw it Friday. She liked it. Laughed they did when Yoda they saw, dialogue they drowned. Annoyed she was. :)

By the way, previous post meant to say I and II were "reviled" by some of the golden oldies with fond memories of the original trilogy. This one's supposed to be more action oriented without all the talk of trade wars and the icky love story the young ones didn't like. Did you know Darth Vader is the best selling villain action figure of all time? Apparently the merchandising for the last two wasn't all Hasbro hoped for because of the above mentioned things and no Darth. I loved seeing all the people who went to the 12:01 showing dressed as their favorite character on the 19th. And my husband thinks I need to get a life because I like Cathe and these forums so much. :) My daughter's boyfriend went sporting a light saber and a cape and, yep, he went to the first showing. Ali said he was very cranky the next day for their last day of school because he was up past 3:00. :D

Dallas, check out Gerard Butler, who's the Phantom of the Opera, and hot even in a mask AND with a scarred half a face. Move over, Hayden!

I finally got to see it today.

What an awesome movie!

And you ladies can have Hayden. Give me Ewan anyday!

>And you ladies can have Hayden. Give me Ewan anyday!

Who is Ewan? What character was he in the movie? Sorry, not at all up on actors. I'm curious now.

Bobbi, I want to see that movie (Phantom) too. Oh, so many things I want to do and so little time.

Dallas

Another great movie Is ...A Love SOng FOr Bobby Long. It is available on dvd now. I rented and I really like it!! John Travolta is in it and plays a role unlike anything I have seen him in.

Terri

Ewan is Obi Wan Kanobi. Ewan McGregor was also in Big Fish, Moulin Rouge and Trainspotting. You have probably seen him in alot of movies.

I just got back from seeing this. It was EXCELLENT!!!!!!! DH and I had to laugh, though, at Darth Vader's "NOOOOOO!!!!" We say that alot around our house.

Yup,we just came back. I really had a very good time. I had to run to the bathroom though, and man I ran. Of course my son was making fun of my old bladder...
Yes, we laughed too when Darth Vader pulled a "Mel Gibson" with the "NOOOOO".
Now I'm in the mood the watch the very first part! Mari

Just got back. It certainly wasn't as bad as Episode II, but I'm highly doubting we're going to see Hayden Christianson (sp?) in anything else. Did anyone else think his acting left a little to be desired?

I adore Yoda. I love it when he gets that "look" in his wee little wise eyes. Palpatine is gross when he gets all wrinkled and grey and I avoided looking at him after that.

And so the saga ends...

Yeah Shelley, I didn't think Hayden Christenson was a great actor, but nice to look at!:)

dananmis22, I didn't see any of those movies that you listed for Ewan McGregor! I need to get out more! :-(

Dallas

O.K. I must be really missing out on something. Guess I'll have to rent the very first Star Wars. I haven't seen any of them.

Marla

I didn't think Hayden Christianson was bad. Definitely better than that kid they had playing Anikin in Phantom Menace. He's the whole reason I don't really like that one. But Scott Hamill never really did anything after Return of the Jedi. He is the voice of The Joker on the Batman animated series, and he does an excellent job.

What I thought was a bit amusing was how Padme gets soooo dressed up all the time just to hang out in their apartment!

We saw it yesterday and loved it. I'm not even a Star Wars fan, but I really enjoyed this movie. I agree about Hayden Christianson's acting - he was good at glaring, but that was about it. He doesn't do much for me.

I was annoyed with Padme's character this time. She used to have such a strong female role, and this time she just sat around in the apartment worrying about Anakin. Plus, I thought that her death could have been handled better - did she die of a broken heart?

Erica

Yeah - I thought that was a little dumb too. Just because someone loses the will to live, they kind of have to have something physically wrong with them to die. Especially that quickly. It's the "Hollywood illness" that characters develop in movies. Melanie in Gone With the Wind died of the same thing.

I loved it. Had a great time.

Whether or not someone can die of a broken heart or not is pretty moot, isn't it? Considering Star Wars is all fiction anyway :)

Wasn't too much for the granddaughter but she did cover her eyes at the end of the fight seen between Aniken and ObiWan.

I think the Star Wars series has a lesson for children about making choices. Aniken made a choice to go to the dark side. Luke made his choice for the good side of the force.

If you are a true Star Wars fan and know the details of the whole story, much was explained and revealed in this episode.

We saw it Saturday and loved it!! My son was upset that Mace Windu died and that Anakin killed the "younglings". My son kept asking why he did that. He was really mad at Anakin. He was so bummed about those two things but otherwise he loved it! Great movie!!!

LOL! DH was laughing about that too when we were walking back to our car. Too funny!!
