Anyone else not into circuit workouts?

I own most of Cathe's and I will tell you, I'm hard-pressed to force myself to do these. I'm not really sure why except I find it distracting to be moving around equipment and jumping from one thing to the next, I guess. Does anyone else feel like that?? And it's not that I don't enjoy them; HSC, for example, is an enjoyable workout and I like it when I make myself do it... but the "making myself" is where the problem lies.

I know I'll get over it sooner or later, since I used to dread interval workouts and now they are my favorite.

I like my cardio, and I like my strength training -- I really don't like to mix the two...

Sure, it's a great challenge to throw in an interval workout here and there -- but for me it seems like too much hassle.

what, exactly, is the diffrence between circut workouts and interval training? i just bought my first cathe dvd's (havn't even recived them yet) and i noted one of them was circut training-i always thought it was kinda the same thing as interval? just wondering...

Please corerct me if I'm wrong, but circuits alternate weight work and cardio, and intervals are steady state cardio with high intensity (anaerobic) cardio bursts.

I like them for a change every once in a while, but I don't do them regularly. When I want a cardio workout, I don't want to stop and catch my breath during squats or whatever. And when I'm lifting, I want to get the maximum burn with concentrated lifting.

Ladies, thanks for your responses. Mar, that is a good idea! Perhaps we should do that. It would certainly give me more motivation than I have right now... I'd rather do an IMAX every day. :)

I'm so with you on this!! I find it frustrating to go from cardio to a dead stop. If I'm moving, I want to keep moving! I still haven't tried Boot Camp because of this reason. I should give it a chance...

I only own two circuit workouts, BC and C&W. As much as I do like BC, I MIGHT do it three or four times a year, max. I've probably done C&W twice ever. I just don't see the point in circuits, except as excess energy burners, and feel no obligation to do them.

I don't like circuit workouts either. I don't like to stop to perform the weights and then stop to execute the cardio. I like to keep my heart going and going. I don't mind keeping the heart up with lower body weight work since the heart is still working hard but when the upper body stuff work comes in, I lose the cardio.

I usually prefer to keep my cardio and weights separate as well so I find when I do one of these it's really refreshing and a nice change of pace. But I can't do these regularly either.

I don't hate them but they aren't my first choice of workouts. I think it's because I never really know how to fit them into rotations which is why I usually follow Cathe's rotations-she knows how, of course:)

They are not my favorite workout either. However, you should try BootCamp! It's a doozy and your heart rate gets up there! I can only get myself to do this one once a month though. It's probably my favorite Cathe Circuit workout. That's because I really feel like I got a complete workout from it. Her others I tend to feel like I needed a liitle more. Step Jump and Fun is fun though and does offer more cardio due to the 25 minute step portion in the begginning.
