Any exciting Valentine's Day plans?

Just wondering if any of you were doing anything exciting or out of the ordinary this Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day? What's that? ;)

J/K - I'll probably make DH a nice dinner with some candles and red wine. That's about as romantic as we get.

Yes, I'm buying myself a box of chocolates & a bottle of whine. Really, you can buy whine by the bottle. PM me if you'd like to purchase some. :p

i always make a fun dinner for our dds

this yr we're having:
meatloaf in a heart shape
i color the mashed potatoes pink
a wickedly-sinful calorie-laden heart-shaped cake

breakfast will include heart-shaped pink pancakes

dh is renewing his cpr cert all day so maybe we can practice mouth-to-mouth when he gets home!:p

My DH is a Valentine baby--so we always go out to eat. But quite frankly, my husband is such a great cook that it's hard for a restaurant to top his meals. I still need to slip over to Williams-Sonoma this week to buy his present.

It's also my 16th wedding anniversary! Seems to be a very popular day. We'll be going out for dinner. I don't know what else.

Wow! Lotsa Valentine Anniversaries! And 1993 anniversaries too! And I actually thought we were special and unique! TEE HEE

I am going to take the opportunity to remind others that this Hallmark sponsored capitalist "holiday" is pronounced ValentiNes day and not ValentiMes Day. Oh, and I am going to have dinner with the ever cute SO.

I'll prabably run a hot bubble bath, read a good book and watch the boob tube, maybe with a glass of wine or a strawberry daquiri with fresh strawberries. No man in my life today. but I've got a blind date coming up! OMG I'm so not into this. Meeting someone new and having to try and be yourself. What's that anyway. Being yourself around a total stranger. It's impossible to just be your self with a newbie. Do I have to laugh at his jokes basically, fake it til I make it! I guess I'll never know, he just may like me even after he mentioned he likes petite woman and I'm far from petite. I'm doing great on my diet and exercise program but I'm not petite. I'm 5'8" 160lbs. Oh well, at least I'll get a nice dinner for free. I can use a night out since I won't be going out for Valentines Day!

Yup, ITA, I don't like a holiday where you are forced to show your love and affection. You should show your love and affection often and without peer pressure to do so.

Whoa....since when do we have to take our romantic cues from the cheesy Zales commercials? :)
I don't mind this holiday...and not because it is my anniversary too. I love when the little cardboard valentines come out and the little ones exchange them at school. Yea...I am a softie. I think we adults get a little jaded as we age...
Jeez...a little Valentine smooch won't hurt ya! MWAH

Oh that's too funny:p:p:p

We'll be drinking wine, eating Mexican food from the place up the street and watching Svengoolie. Same as any other Saturday night, except the Mexican food. Hey, I'm a cheap date!

Thigh highs, a bottle of wine, and my vibrator......HA! Gotcha! Sorry.

Beavs, you rock as usual...

Uh, not sure, have exhausted my gift ideas..literally. I have written poems, stood on my head in garter belts and nothing else, uh, let me see....??:p

Sorry you asked?;)

Maybe I should try and find a neeked picture of Ann Coulter....my DH is a Republican and a fan of the aforementioned bee-otch....;) KIDDING! Sorry forum members, I am just kinda crass sometimes, not offense kay?

Not exactly "exciting" ... but we're thinking of getting a hold of a copy of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" -- that old Steve Martin movie. (DH and I love stupid comedies).

There's also been talk of us getting some alcohol. I'm not much of a drinker, but 3-4 times a year my DH and I like to make mixed drinks at home just for the heck of it.

Otherwise, my DH doesn't know it, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve of stuff just for him. One idea, nothing too exciting, but I'm thinking of making some coupons (free massage, 2 free hours of me-time, free foot rub, you get the idea). I've never done that before. Different = good. (at least in my mind).

I still have about 3 days to go ... so maybe I'll come up with something else!

My MIL sent us money for V-day yesterday, but it's too late for us to get a sitter now. I think we'll use that money for a date night out in the next week or so though. Sort of a belated Valentine's Day out.
