Any Cathe beginners?

Hi all! Checking back in after neglecting to post for a while. I just finished my lunch walk and find as time goes on, I have been trying to add some additional distance. Continuing to use my 5# & 3# ankle weights and then carrying 2# weights as I go. I think the weights have actually helped me with the cardio as I continue to use them.

I haven't been doing any Cathe workouts lately. It's been so nice here that I have been doing a lot of yard work in the evenings and swimming on the weekends. I hope all is well with everyone and I look forward to checking in on a regular basis again!

Have a great day!:)

Yesterday i did the Shiva Rea beginner workout again but this time i eliminated one of the flows since it seemed oddly out of place with where it is placed in the workout. I think the workout flowed better the way i did it so next time i will shuffle it around to include that one and take something else out. The complete workout is about 70minutes so after removing that section i still got in a nice 50minute practice.

WW is still working for me and the scale is continuing to move in the right direction. I lost another 1.8lbs so i'm on track with their recommended 1-2lbs per week.

Jennifer: I haven't been doing much Cathe in the last week either but i'm trying to keep moving nonetheless. Keep up the great work with your walks and other activities. It all counts!;)

Pam: There are so many of those leg presses in ME! Even if you skipped the last bunch you still got in the other ones so i wouldn't worry about it too much.:)

Bridget: I'm sure you will master the BM2 steps in no time at all. I still have my plastic 2 piece "fanny lifter" and it's holding up well. I use it for High Step workouts, leg presses, and to sit on during weight work. I still have my firm workouts on VHS too. :p

Phoenix: I hope you enjoyed your rest day.:)

Have a great day.

Hi everyone! I took a rest day yesterday, even though I had planned a workout. It was a busy day that was super busy in the morning, so I just decided to skip the workout. I felt a little guilty, but I'm back in the game today.

I just finished 9 of the 10 intervals of Imax 2. I did it on a 4" step this morning, because that's all I felt I could handle. But as I kept going, I knew that I could and should probably push myself up to the 6" level. Still...I stayed where I was. I did get a pretty good workout, but I know that in a week or so when I do this one again, I will be bumping it up.

Jennifer
-Nice to hear from you! Nice job keeping up with your walking and challenging yourself with the weights. It has been unbelievably beautiful here, too. No humidity and in the 70's! I'm loving it and really enjoying the outside time with the kids. Keep feeling good!

Elle-Sounds like you are making that yoga video work well for you. And it sounds like you are enjoying it, too. I don't feel that bad about the leg presses. I was happy that I was able to keep Cathe's pace and that I didn't cut back on my reps at all. My legs were feeling it yesterday!

Hope everyone is doing great! I'll be back later! Have a good one, guys.

Happy Canada Day! Really nice to have a day off even if tomorrow isn't. :)

Checking in with:
Tuesday - Turbo Fire: Fire 30 Class + Stretch 10 Class
Wednesday - Turbo Fire: Fire 55 EZ Class + Stretch 10 Class
Thursday - Turbo Fire: Fire 30 Class + Stretch 10 Class

I'm loving the Turbo Fire workouts! I think it is just what I needed right now. They're tough but fun and the music helps a lot too. And they just get better each time.

Bridget:
Great job with Cardio Fusion, Body Max 2 step,
It was a surprise to hear about Anna. Very sad! As for the equipment, I think the older stuff was better quality whereas the newer stuff...not so much. I don't mind the equipment but it's annoying when they keep coming out with a new kit or system that includes a piece of equipment but they never do anything after with it.

Pam:
Great job with Muscle Endurance! I STILL remember those leg presses and it's been a few weeks since I did that one. LOL There are a lot of them so skipping the last one isn't an issue I think. :)

And woohoo on finishing 9 of the 10 intervals on IMAX2! Even on a 4" step, you are still getting an awesome workout!!

Jennifer:
Good to see you checking in! You are doing great with those walks!

Elle:
Congratulations on losing another 1.8 lbs!!

Mid-week check-in.

Hi guys,
Mid-week check-in here. I am doing Cathe's PS videos this week for the strength days. Pam and Nancy, I took your advice and dropped Jari Love as an aerobics DVD (for today) and did Anni's Cario Force (2008) instead. It is a good cardio workout -- and though it's rated "advanced" it can be done by beginners (like me) if one modifies some of the moves.

This past Tuesday I did The Firm's "Slim and Trim" -- a cardio done with a 4-lb medicine ball -- and I liked it. I like cardio-sculpting with light weights, but these kind of videos are hard to find. I should not have ignored this DVD on my shelf for so long.

Bridget: I think I will do as you did this week, and do PLB and PUB next week. Also, what Cathe Cardio tapes do you recommend for beginners, that do not involve stepping? I have a fear of advanced stepping, and can only do the very beginner level step videos.

Pam: I can do leg presses -- I like them on Cathe's ME video and on the STS series. What I do is use a 10" box, instead of the 14" box I think Cathe uses (I have a 14" box that can be separated into two 10" box/4" boxes. I think I got this from the Firm years ago). It's the lunges that I find hard. It is difficult to do them well with good form.

Elle: Congrats on your weight loss. Keep it up. I have to lose about 5-7 lbs I gained during my 8-month off-wagon period -- but I am to shy to put this fact only my Cathe page (which I should do). This would motivate me to lose it. I eat fairly well -- but I should adjust my diet somewhat to lose the 5-7 lbs by the end of this year. Elle: I didn't realize you lived in To. I read the To Sun on-line -- and caught the violent demos on TV . Bad, bad, bad -- and I especially feel for the police and the store owners who had to put up with it.

Jennifer: I walk 1 1/3 miles to work (each way). You have inspired me to start using leg weights.
Take care gang, and I hope everyone is enjoying the July 1/July 4 holiday break. -- David

Hi everyone!

Checking in today with Fire 30, Core 20 and Stretch 40 classes from Turbo Fire. My first week is now complete and am still loving the workouts. The only ones I'm not liking are the Stretch ones but I think that I have been spoiled by Cathe's Stretch Max. :) I'll try them for another week but I'm thinking that I might do Stretch Max instead.

I also got this foam mat today to try out for my workout area. My workout area is in the basement which is carpet over concrete which is not ideal for any impact moves. I had been getting foot pain off and on with some workouts (not always high impact or jumping ones). I thought it was shoes but after trying dozens of shoes, I thought it might actually be the concrete floor because it doesn't have any give. So I got these foam mats (cheaper than replacing the floor) and they work great. I have to get some more because I only ordered one package to see if they worked first and they slide around a bit on the carpet. But it made a huge difference and now any discomfort is what it should be...because of extra weight or muscles being worked that are supposed to be worked. LOL

David:
Sounds like you are doing great! I've never tried Anni's workouts but have heard they are good. I haven't done the Slim and Trim workout in awhile but I remember liking it a lot and was surprised at how the heart rate got up there fast with that medicine ball. And the medicine ball is great too - I have used it for other workouts.

Hello all!
Tuesday this week, I did pyramid lower body- I went a bit heavy and started with a 20lb weight 30lb max. I haven't done it in a month, and was impressed with how heavy I could go. There was a healthy dull ache in the center of my buttocks, but it don't keep me from walking or moving- which is ideal. Wed & Thurs were rest days for me- should have worked out on Thurs, but I couldn't get my act together that morning. This morning I did Low Max, but only for 5 intervals-45 min total. I probably could have gone longer, but I was lazy, and satisfied with what I had done.

I may reattempt Muscle Endurance tomorrow morning, I haven't done it in over a month and if I remember correctly, it kicked my butt then.

I lost a whopping 0.2lbs in WW this week, and I haven't been eating my activity points either. Perhaps I need to eat more??? It's hard to say. I'm just going to stay with it and hope something jars loose soon.

Nancy & Elle- Happy Canada Day!

David- hmmm, kick punch crunch is a low impact kickbox style workout that doesn't involve the step. Basic step & body fusion is a very good beginner workout-it uses a step but is low impact and very basic, may be a good start.

Elle- congrats on the WW weight loss! I haven't been as successful with the weight loss- I have a tendency to hold onto the weight, then drop it quickly if I stay up with it, so I just stay with it.

Nancy- is the foam you got the interlocking kind- I've seen those at Dick's or more ike the roll out mat that you might use for floorwork? My living room isn't ideal, but it works for me.

Jen- great job on the walking with weights, and the weight loss too! Cathe has that 10lb weight vest- or you could fill up a backpack- always good to see your posts!

Pam- is interval 9 or 10 of IMAX2 the pina colata song? That is the best part of getting to the end of the workout and hearing that song bring you to the finish! I love IMAX2.

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great weekend! The weather here in Ohio has been beautiful, sunny, hot and no humidity!!! Weighed in this morning and lost 2.6 pounds so the scale is definitely going in the right direction.

Elle: Congratulations on losing another 1.8 pounds! Keep up the great work, I’m proud of you!

Pam: Great job on doing 9 of the intervals on Imax 2 on the 4” step. Some days, you just have to relax a little and not push yourself, the 6” step will come next time.

Nancy: I’ve never heard of Turbo Fire and decided to look on the internet. How do you like the Turbo Fire compared to the Cathe workouts? Since I began working out again, I’ve had to start from scratch with workout DVD’s and have simply been buying Cathe’s when I find them at a good price and after listening to you all talk about different ones. I haven’t really purchased any others workouts other than a Turbo Jam DVD my boss was telling me about. What other workout DVDs would be good to add to my collection?

What kind of workout mat did you get? I use my bedroom to workout in and I have the same thing, carpet over a concrete slab and while I don’t have foot pain, I agree that concrete doesn’t give. I’ve been looking at Pilate mats, but I haven’t decided on whether I actually want to get one if it doesn’t work.

Bridget: Great job on going heavier when you did Pyramid Lower Body and on doing 5 intervals of Low Max yesterday—I still haven’t been able to work up to 5 intervals on that one yet! And congratulations on losing 0.2 pounds with WW—every little bit helps. If it makes you feel any better, last week I only lost 0.4 pounds, so hang in there. You may need to eat more than you have been. In April, I was eating like a bird and for the entire month I ended losing less than one pound – talk about being sorely disappointed! I think it was because I wasn’t eating enough to sustain my exercise and therefore my body was hanging on to my calorie intake. When I finally began to eat 5 small meals a day, I found that I started to lose 2-3 pounds a week and it keeps coming off. I’ve looked at the 10# weight vest and I may invest in it sooner or later once walking with the weights becomes too easy.

Dave: Congratulations on your 5-7# weight loss! That is something to be proud of and I think you should put it on your Cathe page. I felt the same way, but after posting on this site I began to feel more and more comfortable and realized I was among friends who would encourage me, not make fun of me. I also found that posting my weight loss on Cathe, kept me accountable on staying active.

I hope as time goes on to be able to up the total miles I walk during my lunch, but it is hard when I only have a limited amount of time for lunch so I try to stay around the 2 miles so I have time to cool down and eat after I walk. Great on using leg weights too! I find I use 5# on Mon, Wed & Fri and then 3# on Tues and Thurs do give my legs a break. Hopefully, I will work up to all five days at 5# and after that, perhaps Cathe’s 10# weighted vest like Bridget suggested.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend! :D

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! It's humid here and supposed to be for the next few days so I'll be spending a lot of time inside with my air conditioning. LOL I don't tolerate humidity very well.

I'm checking in with another Turbo Fire workout: Fire 45. It was fun but it will take a few tries to get the moves down.

Bridget:
Great job on the workouts and isn't it great when you realize you can lift heavier?

Congratulations on the 0.2 lb loss and don't worry about it! It could be that you may need to eat more or it could just be your body adjusting. I had one week where I only lost 0.4, went up 0.4 and then down 1.6 and 2.2 after so it has basically caught up to where I would have been if I lost 1lb each week. As long as it is moving in the right direction, it's all good.

The foam mats I got are the interlocking style and I think it is the same one you probably saw at Dick's. I was searching online for awhile and thought I remembered seeing the ones I got at their online site.

Jennifer:
Congratulations on the 2.6 lb loss!

Turbo Fire is a higher intensity version of Turbo Jam for the most part and includes some HiiT workouts as well. Turbo Fire is different from Cathe in that it is more cardio focused and not really so much on strength training. I don't think there are many workouts that are better than Cathe for strength training and I think she still holds the market for advanced workouts for cardio as well. You definitely can't go wrong with Cathe. I just like to change things up from time to time and try different stuff. As for other workout DVDs, it depends on what type of workouts you like the best (i.e., kickbox, floor aerobics, step, etc.).

I got Shock Athletic 2x2 foam mats - they come in a package of 6 and are 20mm thick. They were the only ones available from an online store here in Canada but in the US, there are more options. You just put them together to create a mat. Cathe even had a blog about the whole aerobics floor issue and there are links to places where you can get mats or other types of flooring (they are all US sites):

Checking in after doing Muscle Endurance today. It has been nearly 2 months since I did this one, and it kicked my bottom at that time and I was afraid of it. It was difficult, but I did it, and I lifted pretty heavy too!! I usually work out in the morning, but I got up after my family, and that won't work. I did it this afternoon, while my daughter and husband were in the kitchen baking brownies. During the ab work those brownies really smelled good! I told myself that if I could push myself through the abs, there was a 9 point corner piece and a glass of skim milk waiting for me!

I saw Cathe's July rotation and, though her rotations usually frighten me, I decided to put it on my schedule. I gave myself to finish early if my endurance was poor, and to hit pause if I needed a longer rest between workouts. She puts cardio in on MWF, Circuit workout on Tu & Sat, full body weight on Th, and Core&stretch on Su.

If it doesn't work, I will certainly post my frustrations here!

Jen - I remember reading your frustration last April when the scale wasn't behaving you. Perhaps you and Nancy are right about not eating enough, I haven't been eating all my points. There were steaks on sale for the weekend, what better to create more muscle than animal protein??

Thanks for listening everyone, have a great holiday weekend!

Sunday morning check-in

This week is my third week on the wagon, and I will try to do the following:
S: Amy Bento "All Pump Extreme"
M: Cathe XTP "Kickbox"
T: Cathe "Pyramid Lower Body"
W: Jari Love "Extremely Ripped 1000" (aerobics only section)
T: Cathe "Pyramid Uppoer Body"
F: KCM "Cardio/Sculpt "Fitness""
and I will put in a floating off day somewhere above. The Cathe "Kickbox" video I dug out of my unused shelf, and I want to see what it is like.

Nancy: I agree with you that the concrete floor may be the cause of your foot problems. Please keep us informed about how the new mats work. You might also try surfing the internet for info on this.
Nancy (also Elle and Pam)Your progress on your weight loss inspires me (see below). Keep us posted on your weight losses. I need the inspiration -- not only in keep up with my weekly exercize commitments, but in cutting back on some eating (e.g., the small chocolates I have after each supper!).
Jen: the 5-7 lbs I was refering to in my previous post is the 5-7 lbs I have to lose (haven't lost it yet). I'll try to figgle around with my Cathe page to see how to post this info -- since as you say it will commit me to lose it. I'll start with 1 lbs on my daily walking commute to work, and work up from there.
Bridget: You inspire me on going heavy on Cathe's ME, and your tolerance on the DOMS that resulted. I fear DOMS, to the point where I might be shying away from heavier lifting. I think I will try the ME video next week. How is Imax 2 for stepping complexity? I have tried Basic Step and I have made it through about 15 minutes before becoming confused. I'll keep trying it this summer.
-- David

It's so hard to get back to work after a long weekend!:( For some reason i wasn't able to get on to Cathenation yesterday or earlier this morning. I'm not sure what the problem was but it finally worked.

Last week I was busy studying for my mid-term exam for a course i'm taking. I did the exam first thing Thursday morning and got to enjoy the rest of the weekend. I was off Thursday and Friday for Canada day and it was such a nice weekend here. On Friday i had a spa day: Massage, Facial, Mani, & Pedi.

My summer yoga classes began on Saturday. The number of students is lower than normal but that usually happens during the summer season.

I've been keeping up with my yoga practice and also got in Cathe's Muscle Endurance on Friday.:)

Much as i tried to keep it together this weekend, my diet went a bit crazy. I tried to plan ahead but it really is hard to keep track of everything and estimate points values for food that was prepared by someone else. I went to a BBQ on Saturday and my mom's for lunch yesterday and much as i tried i exceeded my points targets and used up all of my flex points.:(

Tomorrow is weigh-in day so i'll see what the damage is. I'm really not looking forward to it but it is what it is. I'm worried i may have gained weight but i just have to move forward. I'm back on track today and from now on i'm really going to plan ahead for these types of events.

Have a great 4th of July holiday!

Phoenix: A friend of mine used to have similar problems with impact on the concrete. She put down those rubber "puzzle mats" and it helped a lot so hopefully it will work for you.

David: Great job beginning week three! I'm sure if you set your mind to it you can lose the 5-7lbs in a couple of weeks.

Bridget: 0.2 lbs lost is better than 0 or gaining so just keep going and remember to always eat at least your daily points target.

Hi Pam & Jennifer!:)

Have a great day!

This morning I did Maximum Intensity Cardio- I have arrived!!! This is a workout that frightens me, but I did it today, and it didn't kill me. I want to say "take that" to the WW scale on Thursday- losing 0.2lbs when I am exercising buckets of sweat (yes I am still bitter).

David- you are right to fear the DOMS! A few months ago, DOMS meant for me not being able to walk without limping, or get up from a chair without assistance, and that scared me. I started out slow, did the rubber band workouts in the basic step DVD, and took a lot of Alieve when the DOMS did set in-because I limped, couldn't get up from a chair, etc... It is sore now, but I can move, that's the difference, and it almost feels sadistically good-like I want my abs to hurt now so I can earn rock hard abs later.

re:IMAX2- if Basic step is too complex, you would be disappointed in IMAX2- but I like it! What's nice about it is that there are 10 short, simple intervals that repeat 6 times before the intensity blast-which you can pass over, march in place, etc... if you aren't up for it. High Step Circuit is more beginner level, and uses a high step like old Firms- you can lower it if you need, and the step is more basic.

Elle- How did your weigh in go? I am in graduate school too (off the summer) so I feel your pain with the exams! Are you finished for the summer? Will you be returning in the fall?

I'm still a loser! I managed to lose 0.8lbs last week. What a relief!:D I'm glad i still tried to track the rest of the week and didn't blow the whole thing. I've done that in the past.

Bridget: Great job with MIC! You have arrived and i know the frustration of the scale not reflecting all your hard work but every small 0.2 adds up so keep it up. I'm doing a payroll course and it was actually a mid-term exam that i did last week. It still counts for 40% of my mark but the final will be in August.

Seems quiet on the check-in the last couple of days. I hope everyone is just busy having a great week.

Yesterday was a rest day for me and I really needed it. I'm checking in today with Turbo Fire HiiT 15 and Sculpt 30 classes. I'm loving Turbo Fire but still prefer Cathe for strength training. I'm going to keep using the Turbo Fire workouts for the first month and then I might add in some Cathe ones again for strength and stretching.

Bridget:
I think it's great you are following the July rotation - I always had the same fear that they would be too much but sometimes you can surprise yourself at what you can do when you set your mind to something. I'll look forward to hearing about your experiences with it!

David:
You have some awesome workouts scheduled! Haven't tried any of Kelly Coffey Meyer - do you like them?

I have found the foam interlocking mats/tiles to help a lot! It makes a huge difference - I wish I had gotten them earlier! I picked up a couple of extra ones so almost the entire area is covered which makes it easer (doesn't slide around as much on the carpet). It'll still take time to build up to doing all the high impact moves but the extra cushioning was definitely a good idea.

For me, I have found what they say is true - diet is 80% of the weight loss. If I'm not eating well, I don't see results - even if I am doing consistent exercise. I have found I do much better with the eating when I stopped obsessing over food intake and calories and just started listening to my body (something I hadn't done in a very long time). I don't deny myself anything - which helps because the minute I think I can't have something, I want it that much more. It took awhile to get used to the idea but I find it is working for me. I think that's the trick - to keep experimenting with things until you find what works for you and what you can stick with.

Elle:
I think it's always hard to go back to work (at least for me). :) Your spa day sounds fantastic! I haven't had one of those in a long time. Congratulations on the 0.8 lb loss too!!

Today I did High Step Challenge- which was tough, modifications were made, but I held my own! I got this workout years ago as a package with my high step and it was still wrapped in the original plastic- how sad is that? I plan on staying with the July rotation through to Saturday, when I will do Body Max2- a real calorie killer before going on vacation for a week.

I am going to a family reunion in the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid, NY and my skinny sisters in law like to run a 4 mile trail near our camp every day, this year my goal is to keep up with them- and not to eat too much like we usually do!

Elle- hooray for 0.8lbs! Send some "WW dust" my way for Thursday for my weigh in. Maybe I'll do my measurements also- I know I lost inches, that may be more encouraging than my weight.
Nancy- I went to the Turbo Fire site briefly, and, at first glance, it looks pretty scary over there! It sounds like you are pleased with the results, very cool! I am resisting my urge to buy more workouts though, I have plenty to keep me busy for a while!
Pam, David, Jen- (am I missing anyone?)have a great day!

Hi all, checking in for the night. It has definitely been hard getting back into the groove after having a long weekend off! I did manage to walk my 2 miles today in 94 degree heat. The only saving grace was I didn’t think there was too much humidity so that helped a lot! Would have preferred to swim, but my boss doesn’t think we need a swimming pool back in the shop area . . .

Elle: Great job on being a loser! 0.8 pounds is something and at least it all adds up! Glad you enjoyed the spa, sounds wonderful!

Nancy: How did Turbo Fire HiiT15 and Sculpt 30 go? You go girl! I was looking at the Turbo Fire website the other day, but haven’t decided whether I want to buy.

Dave: Just think of my faux pas as the faith that I have in you knowing you are going to lose that weight really fast with your workout schedule! I wish 5-7 pounds was all I had to loose, hummm, perhaps after I lose the next 50 or so . . . .

I think that is a great idea to start out with 1# weights on your daily walk. I have been using 3# and 5# every other day trying to work up to using the 5# every day. I’m just not sure what I’m going to do once I get to the point where the 5# is too easy on a five day stretch as I’m not sure it is a good idea to try to go heavier than the 5#.

Bridget: Great job on holding your own on High Step Challenge! If you keep this up, you’ll have no problem keeping up with your sisters-in-law on their 4 mile runs!

Pam, Kelly & Sheryl: Hope things are going well for you all!

I was looking on Craigslist and there is a Cathe STS Meso Cycle #1 for sale. When I go to Cathe’s site and watch the video, it seems like there is a lot of leg conditioning (not that that is a bad thing as I could stand to lose it in the hips, thighs and buttocks). I was just wondering from those of you who have her STS program whether this would be decent to buy to at least get started with the program. I don’t think I want to do the entire 3-box set as I’m not into a lot of heavy lifting with my collarbone and back, plus I don’t have the equipment needed to get really into it. But, would it be worthwhile to get the first cycle (if I can get it for a decent price) to at least work on my lower body parts?

Still hot & humid and it looks like it's going to stay like that until Friday.

Yesterday i did my own yoga practice. I'm loving my Shiva Rea DVD but many asanas are not covered in it so i still want to do my own practice some days.

I forgot to mention that Monday i did Step Blast. I don't think i've done this one before. I was a little clumsy until i got the hang of the choreography but i really liked this workout and the music so i'll try and do it again soon.

Phoenix: You are so right about learning to listen to yourself and eat properly. Being fit and healthy is so much more than getting in the workouts. We have to understand why we do the things we do before we can accept and change to a more positive and healthy lifestyle.

Jennifer: I don't do so well with heat. It zaps my energy so i admire that you are still walking with weights when it's that hot out. Keep up the great work.

Bridget: I have a lot of Cathe workouts that i have never done mainly because i always felt i had to work up to them for some reason. I decided to avoid purchasing any new Cathe DVD's for the time being until I am using all of the ones i do have.

David: How's your week going with your planned workouts?

Have a great day!

Hi all, checking in after my lunch walk. It was definitely HOT, HOT, HOT outside today and I thought a lot more humid today than yesterday. Used 5# ankle weights and carried 2# weights. I'll have to re-think whether to walk tomorrow, it is suppose to be the hottest day of the year with a high of

I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday and just think . . . we are half way through the work week with two more days to go!!! :D

Good Morning! Even though I haven't worked out since Monday, 7/5, I thought I would check in just to let everyone know that I'm still here. My last workout was High Step Training, and I felt great after I did it.

The heat here has been CRAZY! I'm sure some of you are feeling it, too. We've been hovering around the 100 degree mark since Tuesday, but we are looking forward to some relief this weekend...I hope! Tuesday was my birthday, so I gave myself a rest day since the babysitter was coming early and I got some things done. I had planned to work out on Wednesday, but got so little sleep on Tuesday night, I was exhausted.

And here I am today, without a real excuse, other than it's really hot and I feel like taking a day off again. Sad, huh? I am not giving up or anything, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the sweating groove.

We've been doing lots of swimming around here, so I guess that counts for something. The boys love when I jump around the pool and make waves, so I am getting my heart rate up. Also, my boys are in that phase of their swimming lives where they want me to catch them as they jump about 100 times a day in the pool. So, I'm considering that some of my weight training. ;)

Jennifer-I feel ashamed of myself taking random days off because of the heat and there you are, out walking and pushing yourself in it! It does inspire me! Hope you are staying cool today.

Elle-I used to really not like doing Step Blast at all. But then I kind of made myself do it so I could learn all of the moves, and now I really enjoy it. Even that mambo on the floor move. I used to hate that one! Stay cool in this heat!

Hi to Nancy, Bridget, Sheryl, and David!! I hope everyone is doing great and has a wonderful day.
