If anyone has these DVDs could you please let me know how long they are? I am very interested, but I do not like to do step that is less than 40 minutes, not including warm-up and cool-down, Thank you very much! Kim:)

I looked at her website. She has a few DVD's and you can view the clips. She does not come close to Cathe IMHO.

Someone called "Lorry" has been posting about it in various threads including my "I Hate Cardio" check-in. She said this Amy gal would make me love cardio--imagine that. Now, that would really be something--LOL!

Here's her website:

Hi ladies,
Thank you for the hard work on this road trip it is so appreciated! Just wanted to let people know... as well as ask for help on a group rate. I called the Raddison Hotel this morning and booked a room for myself and Tracey Staehle (we are Roadtripping together and can't wait!)The rate was $125.00/night. The reservationist thinks Cathe is getting married which I thought was hysterical. She now knows what "Cathe's group" is. Just wondering if anyone was speaking to them about a group rate. Have a fantastic day!

Stay energized,
Amy Bento from CT

(Looks like she was at Cathe's Roadtrip.)

And if you look at her bio, her husband is a fire figher, she has rescue dogs, and she started out teaching classes in New Jersey...

Creepy.

Her BootCamp looks as sounds like Cathe's but everything is 2 minutes, not one, and there are 6 sets. Interesting. Any reviews on any of this? She does look like a very annoying friend of my DD's, though, so I don't know if she would drive me batty or not... LOL

The workout times I found were:
A-Team Bootcamp 63 min.
ABs and Stretch 60 min.
All Pump 40 min.
Advanced Step Challenge 51 min.

The times are there under the video descriptions.

I caved in and ordered all except for the Abs and Stretch. I hope I don't regret it. They look tough (just a little too much whooping for my taste)
:)

Jacque, let us know how you like them. I am intrigued by the boot camp and advanced step challenge. The preview looked pretty cool, although one move looks like I will be landing on my butt :) .

Personally I am really put off by the eerie Cathe-like nature of this person. Did she just totally copy Cathe, or what? Everything seems TOO similar, right down to the clothes and the music (same company), the workout titles, and the prices, and everything... plus she participated in the Road Trip last year! Was she just stealing the material, or what?

There's a couple of threads on VF about her. Most people commented that the clips seemed very "whoopy." They also sent email to find out if she is offering premixes or quantity discounts. You may want to check out those threads for more info.

I'm going to take a pass on her for now, I think. Film something original and maybe I would feel differently...

Yes she was on the road trip - I remember her. She and her friend, who was also a group fitness instructor were right in front of me during the Saturday sessions - I was in the front left of the room for those of you who were there. They were putting together new step choreography while we were waiting for Cathe. They said they needed to try things that were more advanced and I remember watching them try a bunch of new moves. They kept talking about their respective "clubs".

I have been taking classes with Amy for 7 years. She has always maintained the style/format you see now in her videos. I know she heard about Cathe about 2 years ago. Amy even suggested I check out the Cathe website (after she had visited Cathe, and truly became a fan herself). Amy knew how much I enjoyed her classes, and felt Cathe's dvds might offer me another/different workout opportunity.
While there are some similarities, I feel Amy's approximately hour-long dvd workouts offer me a more challenging hour of exercise than many of the other ones out there. Everone needs to find the right combination of what works for them.

Whoa, I too, am a litle spooked at the obvious similarities in the outfits. That alone makes me wonder why she and her crew would wear the same style.

It's perfectly plausible that she is original in her choreography...but check out the video clips on her website and see what you think??!

The fact that she looks like my DD's annoying friend Allie isn't helping... LOL.

The strength training (All Pump) does look different, except the ab work, and what she does is in FYC as well. I was kind of chuckling at the one bicep move. It didn't look exactly kosher, but I think my mind is just in the gutter...

I just think they're too expensive. I won't pay that kind of money for a new workouts when I know nothing about the instructor. Cathe's are that price, but her's a chaptered and have tons of premixes - it doesn't look like these are.

I would really be interested in a review comparison of these workouts but not on this site. Using Cathe's style, road trip, and forum to sell workout DVD's just dosen't sit right with me for some reason. My impression of her website is that Amy did her home work on Cathe and has decided to ride the coat tails of Cathe's success. At first glance her DVD's read like a rip off of Cathe's format with a Cathe price tag. There are plenty of instructors with similarities to each other but they have thier own style. I enjoy crosstraining with other instructors. I am not one to ask an instructor to make a workout that is just like another instructor. I believe in creative control and putting an individual stamp on things. It is one thing to model Cathe when teaching a class, but copying her style in whole is another thing all together. What is the difference between this form of copying and selling copies of Cathe's DVD's on Ebay?

I just don't know about this one. Maybe an unbiased poster will shed some light on this instructor.

I hope that I am mistaken,
jordan

When I checked out the video clips I saw some similarities to Cathe (clothes and music) but not enough to say she is trying to copy Cathe. The choreography in her step workout is different than anything I've seen in Cathe's videos.
