Am I weird?

I watched that same show while running on my treadmill. I felt dirty just watching it.

LOL, the food network makes you feel dirty. Good thing I live in a cave and don't have to watch the evil food network to feel dirty. That didn't sound quite right.

I don't necessarily want something that is both deep fried and chocolate. I just want something deep fried and something chocolate.

Yay!

I actually like the reheated version of the steel cut oats a bit better than the freshly-made version. A bit chewier and more substantial.

It did freak me a little when I was cooking it - it cooks a lot faster than I thought. It's now 2, I'm done with Step class and I'm sitting down to an Amy's Mexican bowl and enjoying feeling a tad hungry. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Christine, I haven't read the other posts yet because I am so eager to tell you how much I love my old-fashioned oatmeal in the morning. It keeps me going for 4-5 hours! It cooks in 2 mins. 50 seconds in the microwave on high, then let sit for a few minutes. It is so satisfying, I can almost skip lunch altogether!

This is going to become a habit as my 13 yo DD loves it as well. Heck, I'll cook it more often if I'm giving her a very healthy nutrious breakfast! Yay! I guess I'm jumping in on the oatmeal bandwagon. I'm going to cook more tonight, but put some cinnamon, cardamon and ginger in it while it's cooking...

That's also what I do.:p

You can also cook oatmeal in a crockpot. I'm not sure what the oats to water ratio is for steel cut oats but for old fashioned rolled oats it's 1 cup oats to 4 cups water. Then you just put it on low and in the morning you have a big pot of oatmeal and you can stir in fruit, honey, splenda, maple syrup, protien powder, nuts or whatever else you want to mix in.
