Am I a Wuss?

I have a question that popped into my head as I was doing CardioKicks this morning and wanted to get some feedback from the "experienced Cathe-ites"! When using videos, you are basically "taught" the move every time you do the tape, and in some videos, Cathe makes comments like, "when you get the hang of this you can do power right away" or "you can do high (impact) the whole time". My question is, for the most part, do y'all follow the video, and build up the step as they are doing, or do you go right into the final product once you know the routine? For example, the question came to me when I was doing the arm jab combo in the warmup (first just shoulders, then add knee up, then the complete move with jab/cross). I know this is kind of random, I just hadn't thought about it before and wanted to know what y'all think. Cathe, please feel free to chime in with your thoughts too! Thanks everyone!

Once I've learned a routine I jump right into it as she's demonstrating the teaching transitions - good and mindless way to increase the intensity!

I don't think so

Whether I "build up" or not depends on the tape and how I'm feeling.

Actually, sometimes doing the building up might make the workout harder. It makes the workout more interval-ish because you have the easier parts which gives you the energy to do the harder parts even harder.

I hope I was clear enough and not mis-using the term "interval".

I think if you are doing Cathe tapes you are NEVER a wuss.

Sometimes I get down on myself because I can't do all the reps in a strength section, or I don't power up on all the lifted movements in the step workouts, but then I say to myself, "You know what, I'm doing more for myself by just doing this workout than most people do at all in their whole lives."

So I try to cheer myself up that way. I figure whatever you can do that day is good enough.
