Adjusting Weights on 1 rep max

Even after I did many of the 1 rep max tests, I found myself (after viewing the 1st DVD) adjusting many numbers on the workout card (I either rounded up the weight or increased the weight). Now I notice the weight is only valid on that card for the calandar day I adjusted. If I just print a workout card for say Disc one from STS, it doesn't reflect my saved updates unless I go back to that original calandar date where I changed all the weights. From what I can tell, if I change or add a rotation I have to re-enter all my adjusted numbers for each disc from my printed worksheet from that day. Geeze, that's an awful lot of work. There must be an easier way that maybe I don't know about. My question is.....how can I do another rotation without having to go back in and actually go into each day and change all the weights again? At my age, I'm not expecting super duper major gains. I also didn't enjoy doing the 1 rep max tests (hmm...maybe if Cathe had a DVD that you work along with her doing them.....then I would most probably reconsider that comment). Anyway....Can't I have the workout manager just copy all my updates that I did to the workout card on a previous rotation into my new rotation without fiddling with the 1 rep max? To tell the truth, with all the adjusting I did just on just disc one, it's fairly obvious to me that my 1 rep max tests really weren't too spot on.

I hope this question makes sense to someone who has fiddled with the workout cards, rotations and workout manager.

Are you saying that you adjust your #s on the EDIT WORKOUT option? If so... You need to go back to the 1RM testing page and take a re-test for those exercises and save. THEN all your STS workout cards will be adjusted.

If you need to adjust your weights you need to do so in the 1RM calculator.

I was really hoping you wouldn't say that. In other words, I shouldn't bother adjusting the weights on the daily workout cards.....I can't save it for another rotation unless I reuse that printed sheet. I should just redo a whole bunch of 1 rep maxes that weren't quite right for me in the first place. :( Sorry, I'm just disappointed that I can't reuse my adjusted weights in a future rotation without fudging or redoing my 1 rep max tests.

I thought the purpose of the 1rep max

was to establish a baseline for the whole program- if the first meso cycle is supposed to work at 60% then it would seem likely that you might be tempted to add on more weight-because you are, afterall, working with less than you can handle, but.... isn't there a reason for working at that level in this cycle? Just a thought...

Maybe I can help out here...

Each Meso is based on a goal..Meso 1 is Muscle Endurance...In order to achieve the goal you still need to take your muscles to the point of failure (or where the last 2-3 reps are REALLY REALLY HARD but still with good form)- you are just achieving it between 12-16 reps.

In Meso 2 - you'll want to achieve the same type of failure / muscle fatigue just in the 8-12 rep range & Meso 3 in the 6-8 rep range.

Muscles cant change or grow without taking them to the max - regardless of the "phase" or Meso you are focused on.

You don't have to redo your tests, just change the values up or down. This really won't take very long and your new totals will carry through all workouts.
