Cathlete
I am going to try to get through this post without breaking down in tears, but it won't be easy so if my typing/spelling suddenly goes haywire it's because I'm in a blur of tears!
I want to share with all of you something incredible that I experienced this morning when I got my mail. I opened my door to find a package from Francine (our Francigirl here at cathe.com), and inside were a beautiful letter, a kickbutt workout choreographed by her (like she thinks I'm Wonder Woman?) and a tape of Cathe music that she does the workout to. I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!
Francine's letter is the most special honor I've ever received in my 39 years! She apologized for the ignorance of that "buddy" who called me the "n" word and spoke of how she felt my pain and wanted to do something special for me to remind me to not let that one incident effect me, and to keep connecting to people. (okay, here come the water works)
I truly believed I had closure on that incident, but Francine's gesture melted whatever residual resentment lingered. I can only explain it using this frame of reference: If you've seen the original Dr. Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," there is the part at the end where the grinch's heart grows 3X in size, well at that moment reading Francine's letter, my heart felt like it was about to burst wide open! I was overcome by a rush of emotions I still cannot adequately put into words!
Francine: Your kind gesture will live in my heart forever. I know we touch each other here in many ways every day, but this was different. You went a step beyond that and reached out in a way and on a level that to me is remarkable and memorable for a lifetime!
For every ugly person (ugly in deed and words) in this world, there is obviously someone as equally beautiful and kind, and you are one of these people Francine. You have touched me in a most profound way, and I will never forget your kindness. Ever! Thank you so much for being such a kind and loving friend.
Love,
Donna
p.s. I'm ashamed to admit that I thought your warm up was a cardio workout! Geez! You should have seen my face when I read a page later, "now you should be warmed up." I thought, "warmed up? you mean it's not almost over?" Wow, you should be putting out your own workouts!
Again, thank you for your incredible act of love and kindness. You have indeed made me feel special, and I am so honored to know someone as special as you. You are an amazing person Francine Phelps!
Fitness~ It's a journey, not a race!
