Cathlete
I am going to try to get through this post without breaking down in tears, but it won't be easy so if my typing/spelling suddenly goes haywire it's because I'm in a blur of tears!

I want to share with all of you something incredible that I experienced this morning when I got my mail. I opened my door to find a package from Francine (our Francigirl here at cathe.com), and inside were a beautiful letter, a kickbutt workout choreographed by her (like she thinks I'm Wonder Woman?) and a tape of Cathe music that she does the workout to. I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!

Francine's letter is the most special honor I've ever received in my 39 years! She apologized for the ignorance of that "buddy" who called me the "n" word and spoke of how she felt my pain and wanted to do something special for me to remind me to not let that one incident effect me, and to keep connecting to people. (okay, here come the water works)
I truly believed I had closure on that incident, but Francine's gesture melted whatever residual resentment lingered. I can only explain it using this frame of reference: If you've seen the original Dr. Seuss "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," there is the part at the end where the grinch's heart grows 3X in size, well at that moment reading Francine's letter, my heart felt like it was about to burst wide open! I was overcome by a rush of emotions I still cannot adequately put into words!

Francine: Your kind gesture will live in my heart forever. I know we touch each other here in many ways every day, but this was different. You went a step beyond that and reached out in a way and on a level that to me is remarkable and memorable for a lifetime!
For every ugly person (ugly in deed and words) in this world, there is obviously someone as equally beautiful and kind, and you are one of these people Francine. You have touched me in a most profound way, and I will never forget your kindness. Ever! Thank you so much for being such a kind and loving friend.

Love,
Donna

p.s. I'm ashamed to admit that I thought your warm up was a cardio workout! Geez! You should have seen my face when I read a page later, "now you should be warmed up." I thought, "warmed up? you mean it's not almost over?" Wow, you should be putting out your own workouts! :)
Again, thank you for your incredible act of love and kindness. You have indeed made me feel special, and I am so honored to know someone as special as you. You are an amazing person Francine Phelps!

That is incredible! Francine is such a doll, and she's beautiful inside and out! She really went the extra mile! She's so caring and kind and thoughtful, and I know you are too Donna. You both are terrific women and I am honored to "know" you both. I'm sure we all remember your haircut in honor of Annette. Donna, you put so much love out into the world, and you deserve a lot back, and I'm glad it's finding its way to you. You are my inspiration more often than you can ever know!

Wow! That was the sweetest gesture! I'm wondering how she was able to get your address? Maybe with the help of SNM? Anyway, that's such a nice story. It's really nice to know there's such wonderful, caring people out there.

RE: See.....

Hi Donna,
Ditto what the others have said....'the sun will come out...tomorrow.
Tomorrow's just a daaaaaaaaay aaaaaway..' :D:D:D See, I sing you a little song.

RE: See.....

Oh Donna - what a sweet woman Francince is. I'm so glad that she was able to help you forget ( a little ) about your bad experience! I feel so close to all of the people here, that your terrible shock hurt me too! I know, not anything like it hurt you, but I still felt such shock and indignation! You are a super person to be able to move on so quickly! You are an inspiration in so many ways!

RE: See.....

That is amazing, truly amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It helps remind me that there are really truly special and sweet caring people in the world.

Debbie.........

I'll have to let you know! It looks like it's got more lower body reps than a Cathe workout! I'm kind of terrified! :)

Donna,
Thank you for posting this..it really put a smile on my face. I didn't reply to your inital post, but I've been thinking about it over the last week. As a minority (Hispanic female), I have always held back in being too involved in discussion groups b/c I felt they were "too white" and I wouldn't fit in or would be rejected if people found out I wasn't "one of them".

But, your post and all the outpouring of love and support has made me re-evaluate my fears. There are certainly more nice people than not and I shouldn't let the fear of being rejected for being different keep me from reaching out to others. Truly, there is no color in friendship! Thanks again for sharing your experience with us all, you have touched more people than you realize!

my pleasure

Hi Donna! I'm glad you liked your surprise! Your thread here is very heart warming! It was my pleasure to express how special you are in my own little way! You are an amazing person and it's an honor to know someone who is as "real" as you are! " Never stop connecting with people, you touch more people than you know!" You are an inspiration!
Thanks for your kind words of appreciation.
Ps check your Pm;)

RE: my pleasure

You guys are both TOP NOTCH!!! Donna, no one is more deserving of someone's efforts to reach out. And Francine, you are a true gem.

I'm feeling kinda warm and fuzzy myself! :7

Uh, now Francine, when is this workout coming out? Can I pre-order.? Will it come out in DVD? :*

I forgot...

I forgot to mention that Francie also saved the day for me once right after I broke my toe. She put together some super workouts, including some on the B&TR that literally saved my sanity at the time. I thought that there was going to be a real relapse in my fitness due to the injury, but thanks to her, she made me concentrate on the positive: That which I COULD do! And to be honest, it was a nice change! Thanks Francie! (I waaaaant the workout too!!!!)

That was super kind of Francine. I'm glad she thought to do something extra special for you.

Don't forget though, YOU are one of the special people too. I haven't been out on this board long enough to know alot about everyone, but I could tell from your success story plus the fact that you were so willing to help that "buddy", and everyone out here too, that you are just as special :)

Not everyone takes time to get on a buddy type relationship via email with someone they don't know, only to help that someone out. Many people would say they are just too busy.

From what I've seen on this forum, you're pretty incredible yourself! I'm also a minority (gay); so I can relate. Keep on growing.;-)

Gosh, here I go, joining the waterworks...wow, I am touched, and impressed with the decency and heart I feel here. I hope Cathe reads this post.

I am mostly a lurker, but Donna, I find your story absolutely inspirational. It would be a tremendous loss to this forum and others if you were to even think about leaving.

Francine knows so much and is always willing to share. Please don't leave, either one of you. Blessings to both of you. You're both an example of the best that people can be.
