acai berries?

Has anyone heard of this, supposedly you can get this in pill form and it helps you lose weight, but not filled with caffeine or anything like that? Has anyone tried it?

I'd read that Dr. Oz is recommending açaí, so I thought I'd check to see what he says on his own site:
"A new product featuring the unsweetened pulp is now also available, and I highly recommend that you choose this form of açaí."

Obviously, he's recommending the whole food, and not a supplement. It looks like some makers of açaí supplements are trying to make it sound like they are selling what Dr. O. is recommending.

I tried these berries in dried form - I would go with the pill form. They were awful!!! Maybe another brand has a better one.

I tried the acai packets, and you are right, Tami, the stuff is awful. Tasted like rotten licorice.

While it might not taste great unsweetened all by itself, thnk it tastes great when prepared either of these two ways:
1) blend one thawed pack with 12 oz of chocolate milk of choice (I use soy milk)
2) blend 2 semi-thawed packs with a handful or two of frozen berries (I like dark sweet cherries, blueberries or a mix of berries), some agave nectar, a bit of vanilla and some thin milk--I use vanilla rice milk.

okay

Okay, so the pill form would nto be the way to go and I will probably not do to well eating or drinking it because of the flavor. I am so picky, you would all be shocked if I told you what I didn't eat b/c I am so picky.

Kathryn thanks for the links posted. I didn't realize this was already discussed

Oh well, just have to keep plugging along, one pound at a time ;)

Thanks for the advice, Kathryn. I will give it another shot using these methods.
