90 MINUTE workouts?!!

I think it's interesting, about how you can get as good (or close)results with shorter workouts. 45 minutes before work M-F seems do-able for me mentally, and maybe even physically too. I think if I do 45 during the week, and a longer one on the weekend, with one day off, I will be working out way more than most 46 year old women out there!

I don't have much to lose, and according to the charts I'm not overweight at all. I just want to lose 8 pounds, get toned, and be functionally strong with endurance.

And I want to do 25 "guy" pushups. I can do 15 now :)

I generally aim for 90 mins to 2 hours depending on what I am doing and the time I have. And 2 hours is usually if I haven't done weights in a long time. Like today, I did a 5 mile run and GS B,S,B. Yesterday was GS C&T plus Scrammbled eggs.
With this being said, i am a shift worker so I have days off in the week that I can workout longer. But then there are days when I work days shifts that I find it hard to workout longer. If I were like yourself and only had an hour in the morning, then I would make the best of that hour and not really worry about. Do what you can do when you can do it! LOL

Lori:)

Good gracious, Lori, you're superwoman! I did Body Max 2 ALL the way through once. 97 minutes. I laid on my floor at the end and just wanted to sleep! I forced myself to get up, but, man, BM2 wiped the floor with me. Pretty literally! LOL

My norm is 45 - 70 minutes, 3-6 times a week. I have to get right to it when I get home from work or I won't work out. Once I slow down, I really slow down. ;)

Yeah, Lori's crazy! ;) I am very happy with a one hour workout. I did BM2 the other night and by the end I was just absolutely exhausted. I don't like to be wiped out after a workout. I like to feel refreshed, energized and rejuvinated. Anything more than 70 minutes or so and I'm really doggin' it.

That's a good point Allison. I have to admit on the weekends I'm pretty exhausted after 2 hours straight (see, I am not a machine! :p ). On the other hand, on weekdays when I do cardio in the mornings & lift at night not only do I feel energized, I feel buff! :+

I usually prefer workouts that are 50-60 minutes long. I also do shorter workouts, and sometimes longer (though usually 70-80 minutes rather than 90). If a 90-minute workout is all cardio, I may do the whole thing (as long, steady-state), but with workouts like BMax2, I usually do just the cardio and lower body one day, and do the upper body and abs another day.

RE: 90 MINUTE workouts?!! lauramax

Well whatever you are doing Laura it is working for you. If I looked like you, I wouldn't mind working out 2 hours.

Since I've been doing P90X, most of the workouts are an hour & AB Ripper X is 15 min 3 times a week, so an hour & 15 minutes. Then on days that I do doubles (running) I split it up so it's cardio first thing in the morning & weights later. Like Laura, I feel energized! And Saturdays I usually get in a longer run- 90 min or so. But Sundays are a total rest day for me!

45 minutes is still great so don't feel like a weenie!!

I usually do 45-60 min workouts. I have never done BM2 all the way through! (never even tried to.) But I love the premixes, or I mix and match myself; it's like a whole bunch of different workouts for me.

My workouts are usually an hour long on average, though today I did 90 minutes, but that was a beginner yoga class--hardly going to wear myself out doing that. Once in a while I've done longer workouts, but not recently. I love BM2 but haven't yet done the whole thing at once. I had it on my rotation one time but injured my ankle a couple days before it was scheduled. :(

Mine are usually 60 minutes, but I will do more if it's not a workday. Many of Cathe's are in the 70-minute area, and that's okay. I have done BM2 in its entirety, but had to take a rest day the next day! Hmm, now that I think of it, that seems to be the case a majority of the time when I go 90 minutes.

I rarely do a 90 minute workout, but occasionally will do BM2. My workouts are usually around 70 minutes because that's what most of Cathe's workouts are.
