Here we go 2010!! Wow!! I mentioned in the other thread I plan to start STS/Shock tomorrow. Today I am planning to finish up on Tracie's new set.

I also wanted to say Happy one Year Anniversary for some of us -- We have been a group for one year now!! Here's to another year with the 50 and over group!

Happy New Year, as well. I plan to start the STS/Shock Cardio rotation tomorrow too!

Also, starting the "Flat Belly Diet". We'll see how THAT goes. I swear, the ONLY place I have any fat is in my belly, I guess Mother Menopause is the cause. I hope this diet works, cause I have tried everything else.

Everyone have a good day and let's get motivated for our rotation.

Modification- on the athletic step-- I have to replace that one!!
Jann, I bought "conquer the fat loss" and it is much easier- I am also going to do that food plan with the circuit- Are you still on it? Is it working?
I have not done athletic step yet -- I will probably right there with you. :)
I didn't even try to stay focused once the parties started. I also got the results back from my tests -- I went into "I don't care mood" The weight came right back! Totally my own doing! Soooo once again I am kicking my self in the butt and will get back on track! I needed to get some groceries.

There are no holiday leftovers there, so it shouldn't be too tough. I am, however, going to make my own rotations for January, and check into those Tracie Long workouts.
I really like the Tracie's new workouts. They are low impact and solid. I think I may have mentioned I love Defining Shape. I also liked Staying Power, it's great for the waist! I can still feel it and I did the workout this morning. The stepping in Step Forward is straight forward nothing fancy at all -- the music is a bit off for me but, the workout is solid. I have not done Back up yet but from what I have read it's a good one too!

My DIL is very, very sick. She has lost 63 lbs since June 1, and believe me, she wasn't trying to. She is going to her doctor tomorrow for a referral to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta (on a par with the Mayo Clinic). She had gall bladder surgery, and somehow, now can't keep anything down except for mashed potatoes, ginger ale, saltine crackers and sometimes literally 2 or 3 bites of baked tilapia or chicken. We were really worried about the fact that she hasn't been getting very much protein, but yesterday, DS found her some protein shakes that not only stay with her, but also seem to settle her stomach (she can't digest dairy or soy). We're praying. Magnolia
I am so sorry for your DIL. I will add her to my prayers. The mayo client is one of the best! I hope they can fine the problem. [[hugs]]

Hi, Y'All.

My DIL had a rough day today, but she took her medicine and things improved. Tomorrow, she's going back to her doctor for a referral to the specialists at Emory. We almost stayed an extra day because we thought my son would have to report back to the base, but he explained the problem to his superiors and they are very understanding. So we head back to NY tomorrow.

Stay well, please. Glad to be a part of the 50 and Over Group! It's nice to have the encouragement and support.

Magnolia

I am glad the meds are helping your DIL. Sounds like a great son you have there too!

Disc 1 done! I feel like I am starting over -- I guess I am in a way - :p
Eating is good so far -- but its only morning. My worst time is in the late afternoon.

Good morning everyone!

I did STS Disc 1 this morning and enjoyed the workout. I didn't feel rushed since I planed everything out and it does help that I did this last year. I woke up energized, even though I'm not sleeping well. I seem to go through cycles where I sleep well one month and then I don't sleep well for another.

I am also happy that I dropped 1.4 pounds which is a lot for my small frame in one week. Must have shed the water weight but I'll take it.

Magnolia - Hope your DIL is improving. This has got to be very stressful for your son. Glad to hear his superiors are understanding.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Ladies! Well, today was Hiit 40/20 for me.....I switched the rotation around because I like to work out with weights on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. Tomorrow is Disc 1 for me.

I also started the Flat Belly Diet, since the only fat I have is in my belly. You know "mother menopause" and all. I don't think I like it, although I was hungry, I just could not finish all the food. It is just more food than I normally eat. Oh, for cripes sake, an entire pint of grape tomatoes for lunch? along with 4 oz. of turkey and a string cheese. Not in this lifetime!!!! I am sticking with it, at least for the next four days(jumpstart). We'll see. Can anyone say "force feed yourself"?LOL!!!!!

Magnoila....my prayers are with your DIL, hoping everything will be OK!

Have a nice night ladies!
Deb

Hi, Y'All.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. My DIL was very sick all night last night, so my son took her to the ER at Emory U. Hospital this morning. They ran tests on her all day. They are keeping her tonight because they found something on her pancreas. I'm glad someone is finally doing something! Those other doctors she had were just dragging their feet and telling her they couldn't find anything wrong with her (for 6 months), which is why my brother told her to go to Emory. I'm a little nervous that there is something on her pancreas, but at least someone finally knows something, and hopefully, they'll be able to actually help her. She's in excellent hands.
My poor son is so tired.

We are on the way back to NY. It was hard to tear myself away from them, but her parents are there, and we are keeping close touch. We'll go back if need be.

Please stay well, safe and warm, everyone. (Linda, what a nice picture.)

Magnolia it must be so hard to leave. It's good to know her parents are there. I hope they can find the problem. [[hugs]]

 force feed - :D

Menopause... I am in and out. You know after one year of no period, one year to the month I get one. ugh -- crazy!! I am still blaming my extra weight around the middle on it - so there.

I am using my 1RM's from the first time (I attempted a second round of sts). Are you guys using 1RM's?

Hi Everyone,

I did the HiiT 40/20 this morning. That was an intense workout and easy to modify when needed. I am having problems with my allergies so I had a combination of allergy/exercise induced asthma during the workout which was really annoying....constant coughing.

Magnolia - your dil is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jann & Deb - I agree that menopause does not help the waistline. I used to naturally have a small waistline. It would be nice to be able to firm up the belly area but I don't know if that is possible. I just wish I had started this type of exercise right after my daughter had been born 25 years ago and tighten things up then.

Oh my gosh! I just did 40/20 well I didn't actually do it -- I had to modify so much of it I am not sure it counted  Like Linda said it was easily modified and Cathe gave good modifications and I used everyone of them! I don't think I'll ever get to 4 risers, I was a bit afraid I would fall with one.:rolleyes: I am ok with that. I jumped on the treadmill a bit afterward to settle myself. :p

Hi Everyone!

First, Magnolia, your DIL is in my prayers. My good friend went through something similar a year ago and it was pancreatitis- from stress and eating poorly, she is ok now but it was scary.

Jann. I still haven't figured out how to get the other tracker on there- so you are way ahead of the game. I am using the weights that the workout manager left off with, but I had to adjust,- some up some down- Did anyone ever figure out whether it is worth correcting in the workout manager- or does it matter?

I finished Disc 1 yesterday and did plyo legs from px90 with a friend instead of the shock program. I did notice that my push ups are marginally better- somewhere in between can't do at all and full body plank but not going all the way down or up- more like plank pulses:confused:

Eating on track with conquer plan. Deb, I think the flat belly diet sounds interesting- the tomotoes are a no no on the low carb plans. I actually love those little things!!

Have a good evening everyone!
