40's - week of 1/20/13

Wow, Ronne is checking in with us on a weekend? Must be the XTRAIN effect! :)

I did Xtrain Legs, standing/barre/ball/floor and then did 100 hip thrusts with 35 lbs. 35 lbs was better but I still was only at rep 90 when Amanda was done. Have the crew coming over for dinner tonight. Oh and I did 1 mile walk on TM while doing my protein treatment. Here's a story you all will like (you know I'm full of them):

Didmy gelatin PT this morning, decided to put mixture back in microwave to heat a bit more to try to get some lumps out....it boiled over and 1/2 of it was on the bottom of the microwave. DH said I'll clean it, at this point I thought, I can't waste all this gelatin and I said I would take care of it, he knew what I was going to do, laughed and left. Yep, I got a chair(microwave is over the stove) and stuck my head in the microwave and sopped up the gelatin mixture, coated at least 1/2 my hair that way. What a sight I'm sure! All in the sake of good hair!

Lisa, lol at scraping out microwave and applying to hair! If you did that at my house, you might have a little leftover lasagna or something mixed in with it. : P

I did an Intensity thingy and core today. My other workouts are T,Th, F and Sa. I get pushed to limits, but only experienced DOMs one time so far. Inner thighs-I think they are training us to open jars with them. If I didn't have a Cathe base, I'd be in trouble. I have room to grow, too- Get deeper into plie and squat, improve form, etc. It isn't a type of workout I do on my own (you'll find turbo barre at the back of the folder) so its perfect for classroom where they push you and correct your form.

Hallelujah and Praise the Gods no school/clinicals tomorrow for MLK holiday.

Good Afternoon,

Taking it easy watching football hoping my knee likes the rest. I need to stretch but right now just sitting with my leg up.

Lisa-that is a very funny story and like Jody you wouldn't want to do that in my mircrowave.

Jody-sounds like you are getting in some great workouts.

Hi girls! Today did YR. Lisa, that must have been a sight! DH always makes fun of my microwaving skills as I always end up leaving leftovers! He's the cleaner of that, out of sight, out of mind for me! Jody, those workouts sound fierce! I do kind of avoid barre, I guess that means I should do it more? Enjoy your extra day off! Roxie, your poor knee, should you be seen? We are watching football also. Ronne, I read about that movie, I know they all end up well. It just looks sooooo frightening. I don't know how I would respond in a situation like that. Certainly gives us a lot to ponder. Hi Murphy! Little one had his best game ever today! He was so excited! Really cold here, even I'm cold! Have a good evening! Mary

Mary-its and old injury had a problem since the 8th grade a couple of years ago I had it drained and they did the wrong side of the knee. It hasn't bothered me in quite a while but trying to do a running program on the treadmill along with Xtrain and all the packing a bringing stuff up the stairs has aggravated it.

Hi all!

Yes, Lisa, v funny!! I started the rotation mid week so I'm all over the place! Your microwave story is hil-hair-ious (groan!). You are quite hair obsessed, aren't you?!!! :p

Jody - sounds like you're enjoying the new routine. Your 'opening jars' comment made me laugh. What a visual!!

Roxie - good to rest that knee if it's bothering you.

Mary - don't think I'll be getting in any yoga while on this Xtrain. Good on your youngest!

Well, I probably went a bit too light on Bis and Tris yesterday. Not feeling a thing, and they're a weak area. I think I was being a bit cautious. Did HS Timesaver today. I don't have any gloves so it was pretty easy. I can imagine it's tough with stuff on your hands. There's no way I'm buying gloves tho. Maybe when I get some weighted gloves I'll try it with them. Got to take DD to dentist - she chipped a tooth on hard sweets last week! Hoping it was a baby tooth.

quick post, going into work today, running late as usual. did 30/30, perfect! Jazzed myself up by saying, let's go cathe, let's go! nice time with family last night, was weird at end of night, saw a cop parked right outside our house(right in front), he was just sitting there, and then left after our oldest DS left (but didn't follow him), coincidence? I lost a lb between yesterday and today! yea! must keep this up, hope I don't blow it with eating too much at work today!

Roxie, time for you to do more UB and take off from LB (opposite of me). Neck better, may put in one UB workout sometime this week, which one is easiest? hmmmmmm maybe BS Bi/Tri

Ronne, I always thought if you hair looked good, then you can go out in the world...some feel that way about makeup.

Mary, murphy, jody, HI, must run!

Oh, and Roxie, running kills my knee, you may have to give that up(or don't do so much).
and I don't have an old injury, I just have a weird gait

Good Morning,

Today I am babysitting the twins while there mom has physical therapy and then I will do CLB Premix #1 + Core 2 oh yea 60 crunches and reverse crunches. I still want to catch up on HS though so I might do that before the twins come to my house but I need to stop and buy vaccum cleaner bags on my way home. We have and appointment with the realtor to start the listing process.

Lisa-I stopped Ck25 which was a difficult decesion because I was seeing such great results with both programs.

Ronne-keeping my fingers crossed it was a baby tooth.

Hi girls! Today did L&G and the hip thrusts. Cold here! 19! Babysitting twins? How old are they? Have fun! How's the knee today? Congrats on the weight loss Lisa! Hope work is quick and painless! Ronne, hope all went well at the dentist. Try HS with the gloves, I had to rip mine off my arms got tired! Jody, hope you enjoy every minute of your free day! Have to get cleaning! Mary

Mary-they are 4 year old boys. The knee still hurts I think it might be the change in weather.

Hey girls. I did a Cathe leg earlier and this afternoon I ran 4 miles....with my readers on my head! The next 4 days are Xtend Barre w/o.

Lisa, it sounds like you are bringing a lot of positive energy to your workout. When I get back to Cathe, I've got to have better habits, just stick to rotation or do something. I over analyse too often, wondering which is the perfect workout to bring me best fitness on that particular day-- when I just need to do anything and clean up the diet.

Good Evening,

Tonite I did HS Premix 16 instead of CLB I will do it in the morning when I have more time. My knee hurt anytime I was in a plie' position. I should have worn my Ryka shoes instead of my Asics I think that would have helped.

Jody-sounds like you are back in workout mode.

Hello

Lisa - how are your legs feeling from doing all the Leg segments and the 100 rep challenge? Do you feel it?

Roxie - I did Core 2 for the first time the other day. It's crazy! I actually missed one exercise out all together (the full sit ups with one leg). I just thought, too much. I was swearing at Cathe!

Mary - So are you off work at the moment?

Jody - that's why sometimes I like to do a rotation because it saves me thinking!

Well, it was bad news at the dentist. It was an adult tooth, so she had to have a filling (her first). She was really upset. The dentist reckons there's a weakness in the tooth, so if she has to have any out as her jaw grows then that will be the first one to go.
Today was Burn Sets CBS. I really liked it. It zipped along but I felt like I was really trying my hardest. I lifted the heaviest I've ever done for dumbell presses (I'm not telling you how much Lisa, as it's about half what you do!!). Just ordered 1lb weighted gloves!

Good Morning,

I am going to attempt CLB but my knee is really wobbly this morning and then I am going to do a basic clean house. We have a meeting with the realtor today and then we are going to start loading furniture to take to storage tomarrow.

Ronne-that workout is killer on the abs you will really feel it tomarrow.

Ronne, funny you would ask me about my legs. They are toast today. I'm not getting major DOMS more general overall soreness in every place imaginable! And I definitely feel it in the glutes (again overall, can't identify a particular muscle in the region).

So far last 2 nights my neck has been good. So I decided to ease in with a little UB with HS cardio with 1/2 lb weights. I added all the heavy bag tabatas with the 1/2 lb weighted gloves, not sure how I feel about them, but my arms were tired by the end. I also did the core part of the conditioning---had problems on the 5 situps/pushups (I do planks). My core is toast too, seems like this series really works the core (maybe it's the spinning). Oh, and I did the jack/scissor leg portion on the discs, much more doable! Yesterday I did the 'festival' walk around work, about 2 miles.

Roxie, be careful of that knee! I knew I had to back off UB for my neck to heal, it's feeling flabby up there, but being pain free is worth it.

Ronne, again, I forgot what I was going to say....I'm sure I'll remember later. Hate that!

Mary, is it cold there? I think our cold weather moved your way. It's now beautiful (but dry) here.....it's a very dry winter.

Jody, why were you running with readers on your head? Did you forget they were there or trying to make a new fashion statement?

Ronne, I remember now! Spill what is the weight you use for presses, I'm no where near Cathe on those (it's the Bi's I can increase more than her). In fact, I think it was going too heavy on bench presses that started my neck issue (that and maybe back fly on ball in disc 1)

I just finished CLB and Core and my knee doesn't hurt so I need to keep wearing the Rykas. I made my first smoothie Pineapple, Mango banana with Vanilla Protein Powder and Flax Seed and it taste great.

Lisa-its been cold here for the last couple of days.

Hi all! Today did disc 2 bis and tris. Fun. Roxie, glad your knee is feeling better. Have fun with the house stuff. Sounds like a lot of work! Lisa, it's 8 here! Basically just fluffing cold! Be careful with your neck! Jody, short school week! Ronne, will DD be getting braces? Little one here should start next year. Had to go into work to orient to a new facility, I'm very frustrated! I ask a question, they don't know the answer, send me to someone else who sends me to my boss, who then sends me back to the facility?! Can't someone just answer my freaking question!!!! Ok, im done with my rant! I'm sorry. Hope everyone has a good day and I hope I get my answers! Mary

Good Evening,

Meeting with the realtor went well I was pretty close on asking price the city has been taxing me on property they valued 20,000 to high. She thought we should be sold in less then 4 months.

Mary-sounds like and awful day.

I did Ride this morning, I'm really liking that one, the music helps you keep the cadence...I think I'm turning into a spinner! lol Also yesterday I did do my 2 miles bursts on the elliptical.

Mary, how frustrating! Hope you get your answer! Must have been a hard question :) Neck is feeling fine after my little arm w/o with Hardstrikes, I'm going to attempt BS Bi/Tri later this week.

Roxie, we once had an appraisal done (to get the PMI off) and it came in so low (idiot didn't know what he was doing), hence we couldn't get the PMI off but we did petition the city to reduce the property taxes, and won. I think it's a guess on their part on what you are valued at, but to get them reduced you need a case. crazy. I hope the house does sell fast for you so you can get on with your life, the unknown would drive me crazy!

Waves to the rest of the 40's!
