39 days left until a chapter in my life ends

JT

Cathlete
after being employed for 22 plus years, my position is ending due to economic conditions and lack of growth.
honestly, I believe it's time for a change and to do something else.
no hard feelings or anger although it's a damper on my IKEA redo of my house.
pray for a new position for me in HIS perfect timing.
thanks.

I will gladly visualize a positive outcome for you. My DH has worked in manufacturing for many years. He has worked for companies that have laid him off, have gone bankrupt or just couldn't promote him anymore so he left. He has landed on his feet every time - and quickly. I will hope the same for you. Try your hardest to stay positive, believe in your abilities and visualize a positive outcome for yourself and your family.

Good luck Jen! I think this new chapter in your life will bring you wonderful things! You have the skills, energy & ambition to make things happen. I just know you'll find the right thing for YOU. :)

I'll send some prayers on up! It looks like you're already seeing the good that can come from challenges; you've been blessed with a great attitude, and that will certainly take you far. I'm sure more blessings are on your way!

I am definitely praying for you!! I see prosperity in your future! Say it with me now, "Prosperity, Prosperity, Prosperity!!"

Not sure if you're already looking, but now is a perfect time to start networking through work contacts, friends and family. After 22 years, you probably know lots of people at your company or outside contacts. Get the word out about what you're looking for and you never know what good things could come. I got laid off last Spring, and it was scary, but then exciting to explore the possibilities. I'm now working at a better job than the one I left, and it was all due to networking I did as I was leaving.

I'll be thinking about you and hoping for wonderful things to come your way!

I am praying for you also, I really am... I know this feeling so very well and its awful in the very beginning because of the familiarity and the long history. I am so sorry...

Like CeciFifi, my husband has been in manufacturing for 26 years, and each time a plant would close or they would reorganize the corporation, we would be transferred. Each time he fell on his feet and got stronger, along with the rest of us. I want that for you too, please keep your attitude positive. Its nearly impossible some days, but you have to.

I wish nothing but the very best outcome for you. God Speed.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I am job hunting and networking to find a nw position. Working to stay positive during the transition. Plus, you all will be updated when my status changes.

good luck

good luck to u! we are in the same boat./ My husband's position went away after 24 years with the same company. We are heading back to NY to start over, trying to sell our house in VA Bch, would you believe it we got an insulting low offer. have lots to think about today!
i WILL ALSO PRAY FOR U! ANN MARIE

I read an article the other day about how sometimes having a "good" job stops people from doing things they would really love. The quote was "don't let a good job stop you from having a great life."

I hope this is your opportunity to find the perfect thing for you! I've also seen some pretty optimistic news lately on potential job growth this year, so hopefully all of you facing this issue will find quick relief!

Yes, almost 35 days now left. Ready to close this chapter but, from a another thread, I may be waiting awhile on another job.
