3 things about YOU

1. My favorite hobby other than working out is investing in the stock market.
2. I am #8 of a family of nine children.
3. I serve on the local library board of directors.

OK, here it goes...
1) Even though I consider myself a very spiritual person, full of sweetness and light, in touch with my Creator and myself...I CAN SWEAR BETTER, LOUDER AND RAUNCHIER THAN ANY SAILOR, TRUCK DRIVER OR ANY OTHER PROFESSION GIVEN TO RAILING WITH PURPLE, APOPLECTIC PROSE!

2) I've climbed very high mountains all over the world with my husband. As for several ascents, please refer to 1).

3) I'm 41 and my husband is 47, no kids. But, we did take in my niece's three children, ages 5, 7 and 8 when her 4 year old was hit by a car and she had to be at Children's Hospital 24/7 for two months. It was wonderful and harrowing at the same time. Kudos to anyone with any children. Two months of instant family almost killed me. Or maybe it was the martini's I had after they went to bed every night!

Okay here goes:
1. I once designed, and then helped sell, Grateful Dead bumper stickers at a concert.
2. I peed in a McDonald's cup while in the car on a winding road in the mountains of CA because I was so nervous about the winding road that it kicked my bladder into overdrive and I couldn't wait for a bathroom.
3. I have a HUGE sweating problem... even in the winter... and am thinking about getting botox injections in my armpits.

This is great!

Okay, here goes:

1. I already have botex injections, but only in my forehead. So I can only wiggle both eyebrows at once, and just barely.

2. I don't whoop and clap during Cathe workouts, but when nobody's looking, I get down into those dance moves like there's no tomorrow!

3. I originally got married at age 19. Big mistake! Corrected it 23 years later, and have been gloriously married to my darling DH for almost 3 1/2 years. He loves me even with my Cathe/fitness addiction and all of my quirks :) :) :)

There! Glad I got all that off my chest!

1. I've lurked here for 1 1/2 years and until last week I had never done a Cathe DVD. I got Imax 3 last year but I had never done step in my life. When I previewed the DVD for the first time I just stood there with my mouth wide open. I tried to do just the blast premix once and I almost threw up (partially because I was laughing so hard at how poorly I was able to keep up).

2. I did do Basic Step last week. It took me 1 1/2 years to find the "If you are new to Cathe start with this DVD" advice. It is very clearly marked at the top of the home page. I just didn't see it (DUH!)

3.My husband complained to me that loging onto Cathe (pronounced with a long "a" on the end) once a day wouldn't help me lose the 30 lbs. I've gained over the past 3 years. I thought he's probably right, so now I log on 3 to 4 times a day.

1. I'm a lurker and was lured out by a couple of posts tonight, but will likely not post again for a LONG, LONG time (if ever). <grin>

2. I have no cartilage in my third fingers (between my pinky and middle fingers) so they bend back veeeerrrry far. It creeps many people out, but I think it's kind of a cool party trick.

3. On my seventh, and last, skydive, I was so scared that I never thought I could get out of the airplane. The fact that I did jump helps me say to myself, whenever I have to do something I don't look forward to, "at least you don't have to climb out onto the strut of a perfectly good airplane". That being said, I will never again climb out onto the strut of a perfectly good airplane (though I'm planning on hang-gliding on my 30th birthday - no struts involved)

4. (I know there should only be 3 but, speaking of 30th birthdays...) I am can't wait for my 30th birthday (only 6 months to go!). I can't look at my mother, think about how wonderful, beautiful and wise she is, and NOT look forward to getting older.

This thread has been a lot of fun to read. It also makes me realize that I'm not as weird as I thought :p! Here goes...

1. To go with Shelley...I have an extra vertabra and doctors don't know what to call it. When I shattered my L5 they found that it was an extra one. They couldn't decide if it was L6 (which doesn't exist) or if another thoracic had squeaked it's way in.

2. I have ridiculously good hearing. I can hear that really high pitched whine that electronic devices give off from the other side of the house sometimes.

3. I had a chance to become a professional bowler but the women's tour went bankrupt a few years back. I could compete against the guys (and do on a local level...a bunch of 'em are afraid of me }( ) but I'm certainly not good enough to go against the big boys.

That was fun,
Wendi

I always love this thread. I've replied several times before, so maybe I'll just repeat some of my former answers.

Amy, I am SOOOOOO jealous of your teeth!!

1. In my youth, I read every single Agatha Christie mystery.
2. I have good musical pitch and can tune guitars, even though I don't enjoy playing.
3. According to my doctors, I have an extra vertabrae and an extra row of eyelashes.

If anyone's still reading this thread, here are a few things about me--

1. I have a twin but we don't look alike- she has beautiful, natural carrot red hair and stands at 5'6 (6 inches taller than me with my mousy brown hair) and I was a product (or act) of a double pregnancy-very rare-I was concieved 1-1 1/2 months after my sister was, but born on the same day.
2. Okay-I'm having doubts about admitting this, but here goes-even though I have the smallest boobs on the planet-Iwear my bra to bed-yep-every single night-whew---
3. I do not wear makeup and I don't know how to put it on-so with 3 daughters-ha, ha jokes on them, the poor things--deb

Hi Nancy-yeah-I hadn't heard much about it until our local paper ran an article on some twins-same facts as my twin and I-and called it "superfetation" (sp?)--deb

Okay. I'll join the crowd.

1. I sneeze so loud sometimes I scare people.

2. I am quite often mistaken for someone else or am told I "look just like" someone else--and have on several occasions had people actually walk up to me and start a conversation, calling me by someone else's name. One guy thought I was his cousin. Weird.

3. I can wiggle my right ear, but not my left one.

MissL

1. I never learned to ride a bike, roller skate, swim... all those things that normal kids do. My mother was very over protective and still is! I keep saying I'm going to at least learn to swim. It still hasn't happened.

2. I can't wink with my left eye and it takes quite a bit of concentration to do it with my right eye.

3. I didn't learn to drive until I was 25. My husband literally had to drag me to the DMVS to take the test.

1. I am addicted to Fox Soccer Channel and watch English Premiere League games all the time.

2. I hate cleaning toilets

3. I love Starbucks Gingerbread lattes and am glad they only are only in stores for 3 out of the 12 months of the year.

Karin

Wow! these are really interesting! ok here I go--->

1. I have been doing aerobics since I was 13 years old. I started doing cathes workouts at 17 years old (give or take) I dont even remember how I found her website.

2. I bought my own house at age 22

3. I could possibly be one of the youngest people in here I am only 24 yo

This happens to me ALL THE TIME too! I was walking into a club once and this guy yelled out "OMG You're *insert name here* from the morning news!". Uhhhhhhhh... no:p

OK its my turn...

1. The first concert I went to was "WHAM!" I still like to sing and dance to "Wake me up if you go go"

2. My nickname growing up was "nerdie". I was a bit of a bookworm and a goody- two- shoes. Two of my friends still call me that and we are all in our 40's!

3. When Cathe first started her pregnancy forum, I was the first poster. Cathe's oldest boy and my youngest son were born six weeks apart.

Joyce :7

Hey -i am close to you in age- i just turned 26.
Thats cool-i started doing cathe workouts around 17 or 18!! and started aerobics around 14!

I'll go, but I'm not nearly as interesting as you guys are!

1. I've been coming to Cathe's forums religiously for 5 years. I lurk 99% of the time because I'm too self-conscious about offending people or just seeming like an idiot.

2. I am 25 years old and still live with my parents. My parents like me being here and still spoil me rotten. We have a great relationship that I'm thankful for everyday, but I'll be leaving soon.

3. I am one math class away from a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics for Secondary Ed. I'll be going somewhere else to get my degree because I don't want it in Secondary Education. All of the math classes I've taken since 2000 have been independent study, meaning there is no classroom, no teacher, and it's either me alone or one other girl taking the class with me. I don't understand math at this level, and I don't like it. I have no explanation whatsoever as to why I've spent all of my time taking these classes, but I will not let it all go to waste. I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. NONE.

:D
