2011 NEW YEARS STS CHALLENGERS: WEEK OF 3/20!

Autumn...I have the select techs. I lurve them so I am definitely sharing in your excitement! IMO they are not a good replacement for an old fashioned set of DB's but they are an EXCELLENT addition especially if you don't have the room to store a ton of DB's! :) Awww how cute that's she's having kittens. What will you do with them once they get older?

Hi!

Disc 20 was on tap for me today. All I can say is that I'm glad that's over. :) Mercy. Tomorrow is Step Moves and No-Equipment Abs. Love both of those workouts.

Kikster - I love what you guys do with vacations. I wish we could, but my son is in public school. He's a 7th grader. I wished that I homeschooled him.

Autumn - DD is ready for summer too. She is getting real ambitious about her schoolwork too.

I hope everyone has a great day!

LaDonna

Ok, so first of all, the Sears guy blew me off yesterday! Yeah, my day was well spent  So we get a call explaining what happened: "The part hasn't come in yet, so you'll need to call to reschedule." I'm like, "how can I call you to reschedule if you're waiting for the part , how am I supposed to know when you get it?!" What kinda craziness?!

Anyway, I did get in my Leg workout today, whatever the heck disc it was, lol. AAAANNNNDDDD....... brace yourself for this one Wendy....Stability Ball Abs, lol. Yes, I suffered through 10 WHOLE MINUTES of ab work, oh. the. horror! Only because I could hear Wendy's little voice chastising me :p (uhh, well, I don't really know what her voice sounds like, but you get the picture ;) )

Autumn - I'll share in your joy! I don't have them, but I can see how they'd be a great asset if I did. Especially when changing weights quickly like in Meso 1, and for the drop sets in Meso 2 (or would they slow you down in that case ? idk) I have the ones where you have to unscrew and add/subtract weight plates. It allows me to go heavier with dumbbells than if I just had certain weight increments, but it's a pain when I need to move fast (or if I only need to go up a few lbs, since I only have 5/10 lb plates for them. I should probably invest in the gloves, so I can stop hittin pause so dang much :p. I also have some separate (one-size) dumbbells too, but the weights are pretty odd, so I rarely have use for them...

LaDonna -Ah, I didn't realize you still had one in PS. When did you start HSing? Do you plan to put the others in school when they get older as well? I know that many people do. I also know a few who didn't even start until they were older, LOL. (My parents just pulled my younger sibs out when they were in middle/high school!)

Hola Chicas.

This morning I did Ab Circuits Stability Ball Abs, HiiT 40/20 and the standing oblique work from Criss Cross Cardio.

Kristin:: So didja make it 4 days in a row for the abs? ;) I hope you didn't miss my "novel" about the tower. Are you considering getting now or does it still not sound doable for your space?

Sherry:: What work out did you do today? So you got a treadmill I presume?? :D

LaDonna:: I've recently done both SM and No Equip Abs and you are right. They are both great. SM can be tricky but I really like it which is odd for me cause I tend to be challenged when it comes to the more intricate cardio. LOL

Kiki:: Which Stability Ball Ab routine did you do?? The one from the Pyramids? High 5's by the way! Now keep going!!!! Work abs today and tmrw too! :D Sorry Sear's blew you off and then gave you the run around on top of it. Hope you get it all straightened out and taken care of soon!

Autumn:: You have kitties yet? :)

BBL~

The only workout I managed to get in was my pull-up challenge... I'm doing the 20 pull-up challenge... I'm still working the the negative pull-ups but I am getting stronger. :) I'm not sure what I'll be doing today... it has technically been a week since I did a STS strength workout so I may start Meso 2.

Thank you sharing my excitement!!! It was a great price!!

We have 2 orange and 2 black kittens. I guess I'll try to find good homes for them. The outside cat, Roxy (she attacks rocks so we named her Roxy... any rock... moving or not), was abandoned at our house last summer. I really didn't want another animal... we had 2 dogs at the time, an inside cat, and 2 bunnies. My DD, who wants to be a vet, and DS persuaded DH and I to keep her. We kept saying, "we need to get her to the vet to spay her", but never did it obviously. Anyway, I hope they survive - lots of critters where we live . Roxy dug a hole right next to our house and the kittens and Roxy are in it - the excessive leaves in our yard allow her to hide down in the hole so maybe they will be ok. You should have heard the updates from my kids on this entire process. It was soooo funny!!! She dug a couple holes before finding the right one. Then there was the labor and delivery. Great details from my kids.

Wendy ~ Do you do all your strength workouts consecutively and then cardio?

Kiki ~ I'm sorry about the repair person. I'd be :mad::mad:. But great workout out on Disc ?? ;). I think Cathe's lower body work in the best I've tried other than barre stuff (which fries my legs). Do you have the platemates for dumbbells? I've used those b/c 5# increments is just too much for me. I have 1 1/4 # weights for my barbell, but sometimes I wish I could increase in smaller increments. Anyway, I wanted heavier dumbbells but they are space hogs so this the SelectTech will be nice. Chalene Johnson changes weights pretty quick in ChaLEAN Extreme, so I'm hoping I find them quick & easy.

LaDonna ~ Ambitious is the perfect adjective to describe my kids too! One fun thing about homeschooling, the flexibility in time-management. Oh and assignments. Roxy's labor & delovery were our science for the week. FUN!!

Kristin ~ I am thinking of getting the tower. It is in my amazon cart, but I just haven't completed the checkout. Not sure why?

Sherry ~ Enjoy your new fitness toy!! :D

Time to ring the school bell... TTFN!

Autumn:: Awwwww. :) You should have your kids convince your DH to build Roxy a "cat house" this spring but don't tell your DH it was MY idea, m'kay? LOL :p That's funny about her attacking rocks. Go figure! In meso 1 I did the first work out (u/b) during the week and then did the other 2 (u/b and l/b) back to back on sat and sun. When I started meso 2 recently I did the first 2 work outs (ub and lb) back to back over the weekend on sat and sun and then did the third on this past Tuesday. The only rhyme or reason I have is that I like to be able to add cardio on to my weight training and can only do this on weekends when I have more time. That being said, I found out that the M2 leg work out has a HUGE cardio factor for me so I'm considering changing my schedule around a bit and doing the first ub w/o on sat or sun w/cardio, doing my cardio/leg day on the other day of the weekend and then moving the STS leg work out to a weekday along with the 2nd ub work out. So are you thoroughly confused yet? ;)

Hi all! Yesterday was a crazy-filled day. Sorry I was MIA. i had to cook, do the bills and you know how it goes. Yesterday ended up being my rest day. Today I have plyo legs, d29, I think and then some more abs (winking at Wendy).

I am getting very excited about coaching my son's Tee-ball team. I am a little nervous, but more excited. I want it to be fun. if they learn the game and have fun, then I feel I will have done my job well.

Wendy- Thanks for all the info on the tower. I am still up in the air about it. When you take it apart, where can you store it? Under a bed perhaps?

Autumn- I am still of the fence about the tower. funny how you have it in your "cart", lol. Meso 2 has been my favorite so far. Meso 3 is okay, but I loved Meso 2!

Kiki- WTH with the sears guy? Schedule an appt. when they don't have the part yet? Geez. :rolleyes:That would  me off too!

LaDOnna- Step Moves is awesome! I love it for days when I need to do cardio, but I cannot muster the energy to do more than 50 minutes of it.

BBL to report my workout.
Kristin

Kristin:: More abs? Really!? That's awesome! ;) Well the base of the tower, at it's tallest point when not completely disassembled is about 10.5 inches tall so if you have a bit more then that much space (height wise) under your then yes, you can store it there. If not, you'd either need to completely disassemble it or find another spot for it. I have mine leaning against a wall between the wall and a large double door free-standing storage cabinet I have in my work out room. It's a perfect fit. Easy enough to get to but out of the way and not an eye sore. HTH a bit!:)

Hi all!

Last night I didn't get home until 9:30 - no way could I get in an STS wo then. today I gave blood, so again no weight work. Guess I could use the couple days rest. Tomorrow I can jump back in to STS!

No, didn't get a treadmill yet. Used the one at the hotel. Maybe if we have some time this weekend, we can go looking again. Have to travel again next week, so looks like the treadmill will once again be my friend.

Wendy - Apparently you've been guilting everyone into Abs!

Autumn - Very fun about the kittens! Where did you order the SelecTechs from? Haven't seen them for that much off!

LaDonna - Hard disc, but you are so close to being done with Meso 2!

Kiki - So sorry about the Sears guy. That kind of stuff drives me mad!

Kristin - I'll let you know how much I like Meso 3, if I ever get to start it!

Now, to get some dinner. Hope you all enjoy your evening.

Hey everyone! Quick post, cuz I need to eat :p (if I can ever get DH and DS to come inside from playing w/airsoft guns! DH is havin WAY too much fun shootin at the neighborhood kids  )

Today was cardio, didn't have anything in particular planned, so I grabbed KickMax and did the Low Impact, something or other, premix (the one that's like 48-50 min or so). At the end, I just felt like I wasted my time. I never even really broke a sweat  . And by then, I didn't really have time to do anything else. IDK wats up with that. I'd never done that premix before, so i didn't realize it was so, ummmm...boring  . Geez. All the good stuff was left out. Maybe I'll get on the elliptical if I have time tonight, and get in a real work out. :( (or some ab work, to stay on Wendy's good side  )

Tomorrow's my last workout in Meso 2! :D

D29, plyo legs done, plus no equipment abs. Plyo legs is definitely a double (cardio and weights) combined. My heart rate was up there the whole time. The rest periods are so short!!!

Kiki- I hate it when I do a workout and I feel like I didn't really get a good "burn" out of it. Congrats on almost being done with Meso 2.

Sherry- Are you starting Meso 3 tomorrow then? I am liking it, but I think I like Meso 2 the best. Those tri-set workouts for legs were great.

Wendy- thanks for all the info. I might just put it on my wishlist for Christmas this year, along with Meso 3 squat rack legs. ;)

Well, off to relax now.

Kristin

Hi ladies!! Great workouts!!! I am a slacker today... my day simply got away from me... no workout. :(

Sherry ~ Here is the link to the SelectTech. My total was $239.40 plus tax. :)

Ok, I'll be back tomorrow. G'night...

Hello Ladies.

This morning's work out was 50m of K/B split between Absolute K/B and Strike Zone K/B. Finished it off with a 3m prone plank hold. :)

Haven't been feeling very good on and off for several days now-not sure if I've mentioned here or not. Anyway, I was telling a friend this morning and she thinks that perhaps I am a bit overtrained and should a couple days off so I am going to ATTEMPT to rest this weekend (sat/sun) and see how I feel coming back to it on Monday morning. I wanted to work out this weekend (I hate taking rest days on weeeknds!) and start my rest on Monday but I guess that's not the smartest thing to do so I'll bite the bullet and attempt to rest for the weekend.

BBIAB for personals.

ETA:: So ofcourse I am supposed to rest this weekend and I've pretty much felt "normal" all day long since I worked out this morning! That figures! I have to rethink this rest weekend I'm supposed to be taking! ;)

Today was disc 24 for me, so on to a rest week, before starting Meso 3. I'll be focusing on cardio, stretching, and the dreaded ab work  for my "rest", with probably 2 days of full rest (no workouts). That's the plan, but we'll see (I'm sure we can all tell here, which item would be the first to be sacrificed "in case of emergency" :p )

Wendy: Listen to your body girl. If you need the rest, take it! (we can't have you breaking on us!) I do hope that it's nothing serious, and that you'll be back on your normal routine in no time. (umm, you sure you're not preg? :p lol)

Kristin: Those plyo legs are crazy, huh?! I'm getting scared just thinking about them...I don't even have squat rack legs (so there's no other option), did you order the 40 discs STS? If I did, I'd probably do it. I love heavy leg work! (unfortunately my jeans don't always appreciate it, lol!)

Autumn: Hope you got your workout in today, Disney will be here before you know it ;) (Although, aren't you still on your "rest" week?)

Hi Everyone!

Today was Disc 21. Double Wave Loading is done! Tomorrow is HIIT 40/20 and Yoga-Inspired Abs. To me 40/20 is the hardest so I put it off for last when I work through the HIIT rotation.

Kikster - My son is in public school because I didn't want another fight with his father. The goal with my daughter is to homeschool her through high school. Unfortunately my mother- in-law would like to see her in public school and fills up her head with all that she is missing out at public school. DH is saying that she can have a say about public school when she is in 7th grade which is when you go from the elementary school to the high school. We live on a farm, so the school here is pretty small.

FitMommy - I love Step Moves. I really struggle with run across the step in combo 3. I modify that part.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Today is my mom's birthday, so we are having a birthday supper for her with my in-laws too. Should be a lot of fun. I wonder if I can get bonus points for house cleaning. :)

LaDonna

Hi all! So last night I did D30, STB. I actually used a 20# DB for the concentration curls, something I never thought I would be able to do. i was impressed. I have definitely seen strength gains and definition. Today will be some kind of cardio and abs.

LaDonna- how was your mom's birthday? Cake sounds good right about now, lol.

Kiki- I got STS for Christmas and DH didn't get the squat rack set because he knew we didn't have the rack. The plyo legs workouts are tough, but quick. You'll get through it. Plus, I consider it a bonus of both strength and cardio. My heart rate stays up there the whole time.

Wendy- LOL, I laughed at your ETA comment. So is it s rest weekend or not?

Autumn- what are your plans for this weekend?

Sherry- any treadmill shopping this weekend?

Kristin

Good morning all!

So, yesterday was another rest day because after work, needed to get up to DD's theater performance and help out. She did wonderful! They did "The Wizard of Oz", which was mostly from the movie, but with a bit of "The Wiz" and the Broadway version also thrown in.

I was looking at my schedule and think I should wait another week to start Meso 3. I'll be out of town most of the coming week as well as next weekend. I'll be able to get in some runs, and don't want to pass the opportunity to hike the trails in the Smokey's. So, Apr. 4 I'll start meso 3.

That means that I need to find some circuit workouts for the next few days. Thinking Drill Max for today. And a run. It's brilliantly sunny and a whole 26* out right now - almost perfect!

KiKi - Yeah, you are done with Meso 2! Don't think I've ever done that KickMax premix - bummer that you didn't like it.

Kristin - Probably no treadmill shopping this weekend :( - put together the list of everything to do this weekend, and it's way too long. Maybe in a couple weeks . . .

Autumn - I don't see the great price when I click on the link. Maybe the sale is over?

Wendy - If you really, really need to workout, settle for a good stretch or some yoga. Hope you are feeling better.

LaDonna - Yesterday was my dad's birthday, too! He turned 70 this year. We're headed to visit them next weekend for a big party.

BBL to report my wo. Make it a good one!

Y'day I started Meso 2. I loved it!!!!! Not sure what I will do today... probably an indoor walk since the weather has reverted to winter . It is sleeting & snowing here & THUNDERING!!! Gotta love Missouri's weather. Anyway, I do know I have a date with my foam roller I can't break. My foam roller has been **stood up** to many times lately.:p

Sherry ~ It looks like the sale ended. Bowflex has nice sales. If you are on Facebook & like the Bowflex page, the sales & deals are posted on there. That is how I found out about this deal.

Kristin ~ I had plans to shoe shop & take the kids for swimming lessons evaluation, but I just don't want to bother taking the baby out in this weather. Who knows what it will do next? Instead, I'm packing up maternity clothes and baby clothes to donate (bittersweet). Any fun things on the menu for you?

LaDonna ~ A bday celebration!! I'm with Kristin, cake sounds super yummy (** but as kiki reminded me ;)... Disney is only 92 days away for me... we arriving early**).

Kiki ~ I was on a rest week. I didn't do a STS srength workout for 1 week, that counts, right? :)

Wendy ~ Your STS rotation made perfect sense. So, are you resting this weekend?

Time to go clean & pack stuff. Hope you ladies are having a fantastical weekend!!!!

ETA: 3 mile walk done!

Decided on 4DS Bootcamp Cardio Only. Tried to run, but the wind was a bit much for me.

Autumn - heard about the weather your way when I talked to my folks earlier.

Now heading out to DD's soccer game - indoors at least. Hope you all are having fun today.
