Good morning. Anybody gonna be here this weekend??? I read all of your posts on our first Check In yesterday and am amazed at you ladies!!! I cannot WAIT to get started Monday!

After my treadmill run and abs this morning, I did my initial test and performed pretty much as I expected. I did 21 with good form. I actually did like 27, but those last 6 weren't all that good, so I counted 21!

I'm excited! I figured last night that this will be pretty easy to add into my current rotation (FitnessFreak's Sept rotation is Leg Blast and is basically a Freestyle-type of leg rotation), so I'll put the Push Ups in on M,W,F.

WOO HOO!

Gayle

Hi Gayle and all who follow!!

I've been doing the challenge for a month already but I'll join your check-in.

On my initial test a month ago, I could do exactly 2 consecutive push ups on my toes with perfect form, so I began the challenge by following the first column.

I retested after week 2 and was able to do 11 consecutive push ups, so I went back to the beginning, but switched to the 2nd column.

I just retested again and I can now do 13 consecutive push ups on my toes. You're supposed to be able to do at least 16 before moving on to week 3, so I'm going back to the beginning, but moving over to the 3rd column. Does that make sense, or have I thoroughly confused everybody -- lol!!! Essentially, I'm progressing laterally on the chart.

But geez! I CAN DO 13 CONSECUTIVE PUSH UPS!!! I'm actually VERY happy about that! :D

Gayle, YOU ROCK!! 21 push ups on your toes is something I aspire to. ;)

Have a great weekend everybody!

Hi there,

Just checking in to this new forum.

Gayle: Awesome job!!!

Michele: Way to go! Your doing great ramping up the reps.

Horseshowmom: Your going to do awesome regardless of your starting point. You'll be seeing strength gains within just a few weeks. :)

I took the test last week and fell into level three catagory. I am starting at 2 just to be on the safeside. Today was day 2 for me and I completed 40 reps. I think I can owe my recent strength gains to extra ab workouts which included planks. These are tough and you use all your upperbody to them as well.

Do your best and look forward to being surprised soon!

advice

Hi ladies! I did my initial challenge test and as expected I couldn't even crank out 1 on the toe pushup. I'm going to try again in the A.m. I could do 12 really excellent form on the knee pushups so my question....should I go with the *lesser* pushup but higher quantity or try the *real* one with lower numbers?
What do you think?
Thanks for the input!
Becky

Hi Becky,

You started the challenge! That is great! Starting out on your knees is ok we have all been at this starting point. As you get stronger you should try to add in toe push-ups. I would try just one at the beginning of each set and then eventually add 1 more and so on. Eventually you will be doing 1 set completely on your toes! Try this for your goal. You can do this!
Heidi :)

Good Morning !

Hi Michele!!

I did my re-test before starting week 5 and cranked out 45 pushups . The last two I was shaking . (how will I get to 100 in just 2 more weeks ??)
So I am sticking with column 3.
Tomorrow is day 1 of week 5 .

Have a great Sunday! :)

I'm a bit behind with the check-in. I did my test Friday & did 10 toes push-ups. Usually I do all my push-ups on my knees.... I'm all ready to start Monday with the program. DH also did the test & also did 10. :p (struggling at the end I must say)
It will be fun to do together.
Let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

I did day 2 today, with a total of 62 pushups (with rests in between, of course.) Then followed with Leaner Legs. My legs feel like noodles now.

DH is planning to start day 1 today.

Great job to everyone above!!!

Hi Guys!

I started my 3rd week of the challenge today and really struggled so I'm thinking I either need to go back to the 2nd week or go to level 2. I guess I needed to re-test and I didn't!:( Anyway I did about 80 on my toes and about 18 on my knees.:(
Okay, I'm thinking Tuesday will be week 3 level 2.

Good luck everyone!:p

I was interested in doing the challenge, but I can't find the site. I know I saw it on the boards but I cant find it now. Does anyone know where it is?

Done!

Hi Girlies! I just completed my 2nd. day of Week 1! Thank heaven for the 90 second rests between sets! When I think I did 58 push-ups total, even with the breaks, it makes me feel happy. Here is what I did (I am in the 3rd. Column) :

12
12
10
10
14 (The minimum is 10 so I was satisfied with 4 extra)

Good Luck and can't wait to hear how everyone does over the next 6 weeks and GREAT job for those of you that have been racking up your numbers the past several weeks! You're amazing, inspire me and give me hope!

Hello,

Just checking in with 42 push-ups done. WK 1 Day 3. This was difficult considering I just did Power Hour before this!

Nice job Debbie!

Good luck to all that follow! Have a great day!

Whew! I bet! I've been doing my push ups before my main workout (after the warm up.) What have others been doing?

Heidi~That had to be tough after your full workout! Great job! Jodi, I have been doing them when I get in in the morn....I consider my first set, my WARM-UP! (Unless, you consider my first cup of coffee my warmup! :p)

Hey Ladies,

I am starting today...I can do 8 on my toes. I have my DD doing them with me she is 13 to help gain extra up body strenght for softball. I really like this challenge. I am amazed at how many most of you can do !

Hope to catch up to you guys in a couple of weeks. :)

Wimpy checking in

I think I need to change my screen name to wuss or wimp. I tried again and absolutely cannot do even 1 proper form toe pushup. I also realized with the help of a friend spotting me that my form has always been wrong! I put my arms to far forward and use too much shoulder. Soooooo, I re-tested hoping the correct form would make a difference....it did...I could do less proper form knee push ups than before!
Anyhow today was day 1 , middle column (6-10) and i managed to squeak out a total of 28 knee push-ups (feet crossed and held stationary @ tush level).
Impressive, huh!?!
NOT!!!!!!! :(

Way to go to the rest of you who are doing big girl push-ups at mind boggling numbers! You ladies are superstars!!!! :D
