I can't resist - What a great idea. Here goes:

1. I am Canadian - living in Nova Scotia
2. I am 36 years old
3. Have been happily married for 11 years to a man who is getting better looking every day!
4. I have a son 8 and daughter 5
5. I have been a red head ever since my daughter was born with the most beautiful red hair on the planet - neither my husband or I have red hair in our families!!
6. I am a lawyer, and a partner in my firm.
7. I love the YMCA - I teach 5 classes a week, have been on our local Board of Directors, and served a term on the National Board of YMCA Canada
8. I enjoy community theatre, and am in a play starting tomorrow.
9. I don't know my lines yet!!!
10. I have lost 100 pounds and kept it off for over 3 years.

How fun!

1. My last name is van der Hoeven (both parents were born in Holland)
2. I'm a grade one teacher because I have more patience with children than adults!
3. My husband and I were set up on a blind date by my aunt, although I knew of him (had been a friend of my cousin)
4. I'm afraid of drowning, and yet I swim (not too far, though!)
5. I hate wearing mascara and lipstick
6. My husband and I just bought our first house, and so I'm into watching all the home decorating and remodeling T.V. shows!
7. As a child I loved peanut butter and Kraft cheese slices in sandwiches (and still do!)
8. I want to start having children soon.
9. I'm 31.
10. I love biking, tennis and skiing (alpine and cross-country)

7. My pet peeve is when I go out to run in the mornings and my shoes squeak and wake the baby up...aaargh!

2. I have been married 23 yrs and have no kids by choice
3. My Hubby's Mom went to High School with my Mom
4. I lived in Southern Calif until 2 days after I got married, now it's Northern Calif ever since
5. I love distance running
6. I love Starbucks coffee, grind my own EVERY morning
7. My favorite TV show...CSI
8. I have been self employed as a manicurist for 14 years, before that I was in banking for 10 yrs (self employed is MUCH more fun!!)
9. My absolute favorite sport to watch is PRO FOOTBALL

Hi! You all have some very cool and interesting things to say :) Here's my story:

1. I'm 25 years old
2. I have been singing since I was eight years old and writing songs and playing guitar since age twelve. My passion and career is writing music and performing it in front of people.
3. I was engaged at 14 years old, married at 18, divorced at 21
4. I have a boyfriend who is also my best friend. He is managing my music career, and can also be considered my therapist ;)
5. I'm a vegetarian and have been so for about 2 years
6. I have two cats, and am seeking part-time employment at the Kentucky Humane Society (the music isn't quite paying all the bills right now and I would love to help find deserving animals good homes)
7. I have a tendency to be lazy, but when I get into something I'm all into it. On the contrary, I love working out. Of course Cathe is my fav.!
8. I'm a night person (good thing since I'm a musician; gigs can be pretty late sometimes)
9. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology
10. My mom past away last winter at the age of 45 from pancreatic cancer :-( From this I realized how short and fragile life is and how you should follow your dreams while you still have the chance...

P.S. Off the subject, and this is probably a stupid question but I have no idea what DH stands for. I'm assuming the H means husband? I see it in the forums a lot so if someone would clue me in I'd sleep better at night ;) Thanks

This is a fabulous fun thread! I don't post too often but think this is a great way to get to know my Cathe friends...

1. I turned 30 last July.
2. I am two courses away from an Interior Design degree (second career).
3. I've been married for five years to a wonderful man from Ireland.
4. I have never had a cavity.
5. If I could live anywhere in the world, I'd move to New Zealand.
6. My favorite television show is Father Ted.
7. I have two very spoiled cats, one moggy and one scottish fold.
8. My biggest fear is dying of anaphylsaxis from my milk allergy.
9. I'm a military brat and have lived all over the world.
10. I have reached my goal weight (lost 25 pounds) thanks to Cathe and the Strong Women Stay Slim diet plan.

1. I am “special” (lol) so will never get married or have children.

2. I was fostered at 18 months old.

3. I have a little Chihuahua called Louis, who is my bestest friend.

4. I have four bothers don’t even know me (properly).

5. I was a vegetarian for 6 years.

6. I worry too much.

7. I can’t drive yet.

8. My mum loves me for who I am and has never wished I were anything other than “me”

9. I check the light switch in the bathroom twice! I have no idea why!

10. I hate people who use religion to preach hate.

11.(sorry had to add this one in!) I think Sblordita is very beautiful and from what I know, has a beautiful heart.
 
1. I've been a critical care nurse for 18 years, and still have no idea why I went to nursing school, but it's also where I met my husband. Go figure!
2. I don't believe in coincidences. I believe things happen to us for a reason, even if we may not understand that reason at first.
3. I have a BA in Psychology, and had once planned to earn a Ph.D and work as a child psychologist.
4. I plan to start my own consulting business by May or June of this year, and my goal is to leave hospital nursing forever by May or June of 2005!!
5. I am addicted to caffeine and chocolate! LOL!!
6. Despite the fact she's now 13, my daughter and I get along very well! She's a great kid, even if I am a bit biased!! :)
7. I watch "All My Children" every day, and have watched it since it first aired in 1970. It's my one hour a day of "escape" time!
8. I'm both fascinated and terrified of tornadoes.
9. I don't know what I would do without my best friend in my life!!
10. I believe we are all capable of achieving our dreams, but we also have to be willing to do the work necessary to make them a reality.

1. I took college classes for seventeen years before I finally had enough credits to get a degree.
Then I got two!

2. I've lost 127 pounds and kept it off for four years

3. I became a vegetarian ten years ago after examining a cadaver in linguistics class and realizing it (he) looked just like a pot roast.

4. I had no time to read these posts but got so interested I said "to heck with it" and read every single one, and even came up with a list of my own.

5. I once left my car running for three hours because I forgot to shut it off.

6. I quit smoking seven years ago after giving up a three-pack-a-day habit for nearly twenty years.

7. I have had the same best friend for 42 years.

8. I find it absolutely impossible to answer multiple choice questions without adding comments in the margins.

9. I was late for my own wedding. The "bride getting ready" pictures were actually staged after the wedding had taken place.

10. My dream for the future is to go on an Earthwatch expedition.

4. I have a great dog (Montana). She's adopted. I get my dogs only from shelters.

I'm mostly a lurker but this seems like fun.

1) I'm 34 years old.
2) I used to be swimming teacher/lifeguard while in high school and university.
3) I'm part of a identical set of triplets.
4) I have two living children
5) We lost one son from Edward's Syndrome
6) I work part time as an occupational therapist with hand injuries.
7) I'm an avid reader.
8) I accomplished one of my life time goals last year and ran a full marathon (4 hours and 46 minutes.)
9) My favourite vacation spot is Walt Disney World.
10) I met my husband when we were 15 in Grade 9. We married at age 21.

1. Except for the 5 years I spent in Jackson Hole, WY, (total blast!)I have lived in Minnesota my whole life.
2. Was a bartender for almost 8 years
3. Have been exercising regularly for 20
4. I am 39, married with 2 boys, 6 & 8, and work part-time
5. If I was stranded on a desert island, my food of choice would be PIZZA!
6. I have a hard time passing up a good bargin, whether I need it or not.
7. I have had the same best friend since kindergarten.

9. Hiking, biking, camping, skiing, tennis, and reading are my biggest hobbies.

1. I was in the Navy for 4 years.
2. I've been a Christian all my life. Accepted Jesus when I was 5 yrs. old.
3. My son's birthday is Valentine's Day and Sat. he'll turn 8. He's the most precious thing in the world to me.
4. I'm 35 yrs old.
5. I've gotten into two fist fights in my life (4th grade & 12th grade.) It was self defense. :)
6. I love boat rides on the lake and swimming.
7. I love tear jerker movies. As far as tv goes, I love CourtTV and all the shows on it, like Forensic Files, I-Detective, The System... I'm hooked.
8. I love taking classes at the gym.
9. I love the spa...massages, pedicures, manicures etc.
10. I lost my younger brother (10 months younger than me) this past September. It was shocking and unexpected...he was an alcoholic and he developed pneumonia and then bacterial pericardidis and it killed him. Instead of taking his medicine for his illness, he bought an $11 bottle of vodka on the day he died. I found the receipt in his backpack. I know I'll see him again, and that he's in a better place. I have one remaining younger brother (33) and he's married, happy and healthy with two kids.

11. I'm getting married Oct. 16th this year!! :) (I was married before for 11 yrs, got divorced, met fiancee 1 year later, have been with fiancee for 3 yrs) I met fiancee by chance at a play in Chicago called "Tony n' Tina's Wedding". He was playing the best man and I was part of the audience! He made me laugh when I hadn't laughed in a long, long time.
