RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :)

Just wanted to send Shelly some PR vibes! It takes a real TROOPER to go the distance in weather like this. We're behind you all the way! Looking forward to your race report.

I am going to have some fun today with a TM/EXT/KB circuit.

Have a fantastic Sunday, everyone!

First things first....since I was not online much yesterday:

CATHY!!!!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I always love running in new shoes. They do seem to give you an extra spring in your step. So incredibly cool about National Boards!! I bet you will be on cloud nine for some time!!

Shelly..."Do I ever Sleep In"?...NO!!!...:D...Always been an early riser. Sending strong marathon vibes to you today. I'll be thinking of you when I do my long run...

Wendy..good workout yesterday.

Posh...We seem to share the same love for the Pyramids! I don't mind a bit of warm running weather but these cooler temps are feeling better, and at least it cools off gradually!

Dallas..glad to hear your pain is dissipating!! Yes PITA sis should be ashamed of her self in many ways...

Christine...Thanks re: my patience with my PITA sis. She didn't give me much of a chance to slam her yesterday...:)...The Pilates chair was about $350, Amazon had it for $258 and you could probably get it on E-Bay for even less. My parents had the same anniversary...:)...

to you and Ved. Glad you had a fabulous dinner to mark the special date!! Sounds like a nice Thanksgiving you had with the family. So, did the tire hold??

Jackie...great run in those cold temps.

Thanks for all your well wishes with PITA sis and the moving...:)...PITA did finally show up around 2 hours late. Which is good as I figured she would just blow it off. I was tempted to ask her who she had manipulated for the gas money...:D..:D...but I was GOOD and kept my mouth shut! We got A LOT done and now we need more boxes for the rest. I will go back today and hopefully finish up after my run.

We will be heading out for a 17-18 mile run. It is a bit cool (upper 30's) but at least no rain...:D

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

GO SHELLY GO!!!!! I know you’re out there rocking it out! Yeah, a double celebration of Thanksgiving is not a good thing! I was soo full last night – and was careful what I put on my plate. Fortunately the second one has food I’m not quite as fond of, so I’m thinking I’ll be able to resist much of it. :p

Cathy – I’m so darned proud of you girl! You probably are still bouncing off the walls! Did you go out and celebrate? You should! No shortage of useless meetings and training sessions to attend. *sighs* Oh well, it’s a living. You’re the best, girl – didn’t you know that? :D

Jackie – Great job on the 5 miler in the cold temps!! Good pace!

Dallas – thanks for the anniversary wishes! Yeah, we’ll go to our friends for Thanksgiving on Thursday – they always have a big party. It’s fun.

Wendy – Good job on the run yesterday. Yeah, 8 years of loving him, wanting to murder him and hide the body :p and everything in between, but it’s been good over all. Did you have fun at the jewelry party?

Posh – love the pony! It’s really cute and what a tension relief! Yeah DH and I enjoyed going back to that restaurant. We do go out often, but not to that place, so it’s special.

Carole – Oh! I get to share an Anniversary with your parents! How cool! Glad PITA sister was better behaved yesterday. Yeah, that’s ridiculous for the chair! I wasn’t interested in it, but still… Hope the run goes well!!

Last night was really fun! Everyone was in good spirits and happy, and the turkey turned out wonderfully. DH cleaned up (well, did the lion’s share) and DD15’s BF really raised himself in DH’s eyes by helping. Good kid (no other BF or GF has ever even offered). He is a geek, but he’s a good kid. I had each person say something they are thankful for and his was that when the Super Collider was launched, that it did not implode and destroy life as we know it. Well, I guess that is indeed something to be thankful for! :) I ended up doing the Tuscan Training ride over Gate’s pass into the Saguaro National Park again along with 4DS Shoulders, Bi’s and Tri’s that I missed on Friday. No flat, so I’m looking forward to taking the bike out on the road again! It’s either a 30 mile ride today, or I’ll take Jimmy for a hike. We’ll see. :p Have a good day all!

***Just a note to all on the Christmas Card List - I PM'd the list to everyone. If you do not have it, please PM me!***

And another note - Posh's last name is not Hughes - I'll sent you the right name!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, SHELLY!!!! WOO HOOO!

Just checked our IRON Cheetah's finish in Philly! YESSUUUH!! She did it! finished in 4:27:25!!

You Rock!
:D

Shelly - I just got back in town and I feel so bad! I didn't wish you "Good luck" before I left :( I am so sorry, Shelly!!! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear the full race report!!! For some reason, I thought your marathon was next weekend! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!~

Cathy - And congratulations to you! That is wonderful! I am so proud of you!

I will try to get back and catch up a little later, but I have so much to do! I hate unpacking and doing laundry and all that stuff when you have to go to work the next day! :( Hope all is well with everyone!

Hi Cheetahs! :)

Cathy: I am so proud of your accomplishment. :) I can't stop thinking about how very cool it is that you passed the NB. IA that freezing in the classroom is not conducive to learning. Enjoy your circuit today!

SHELLY: CONGRATULATIONS ON SUCH AN AWESOME FINISH! I HAVE NEVER DOUBTED THAT YOU WOULD FINISH STRONG! :)

Carole: You are strong to keep your mouth shut with sis! I am finding myself less able to do that when I am annoyed these days. Not sure why that is. Sounds like you have a bulk of the work done at mom's house. I am sure your run will be a good one! :)

Christine: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!:) Sounds like a nice time yesterday! That is great that DD15 has a quality guy! You are really enjoying those desert rides. I have been to Saguaro NP and it is simply amazing! You are so right about the cold classroom. If I was a parent I would not be pleased either. Hope your day is a great one! Thanks for compiling the list for greeting cards. :)

Posh: Every week I am seeing that mom's spirits are better, so I am happy about that. It doesn't surprise me that you give 110% at work. :) You worked for child protective services? Oh my, my hat is off to you. I can imagine what a tough job that would be. I have a very respectful group of students this year. In fact, I have 23 compassionate little people to look after. It's been a good year so far. :)

Judy: Yes, it was -6. Seems a bit early to be that cold, but it was. We live in a river valley, so it is usually colder here. I have not read any John Irving. I will have to look up that title on Amazon. Your DH must be a great guy. :)

Linda: I'm pretty pumped about the tights. They will be here tomorrow. I was being cheap and didn't buy the insulated ones. I figure I can wear my other running pants over them. Sounds like a fun weekend for you!

Jackie: I'm not sure where the heat control is. I think it may be computerized. I am pretty excited for Christmas and gift buying this year, so who knows, I may keep you busy after all! Your race is coming up! You will do great!

Had a nice time with mom yesterday. Yesterday I rested and today was a 4 mile run. I got paid for teaching AS on Friday, so I went to Dunham's to see if they had any goodies. I got a pink cold weather UA shirt on sale for $35 and they also had some fitness by Cathe product so I bought the weighted vest. I am so excited! I think I will try it tomorrow. They did not have the weighted gloves. That is a good thing I guess. Saved me some money. I am done buying myself presents. I'm not sure what to get DH for Christmas. Both of us buy whatever we want for ourselves when we want it. I am thinking maybe some Muskie lures. They are expensive because they are so big, so he is a little hesitant about buying them. I got him snowhoes last year. Ok, I've blabbed enough. Have a great day everyone! :)

Dallas: I have not forgotten about the soup recipe. I will get it to you ASAP! :) It is a favorite now. I could eat soup everyday! Hope you are well!

Congratulations Shelly on your amazing finish!!!!!

Congratulations Cathy on passing your National Boards!!!!!

Both of you are to be commended!

Carole- good job on holding your tongue at the moving. How did your long run feel in the cool 30's today?

Gloria- Glad you had a nice visit with Mom and that you are ready to shop and ship!

Jackie - Are you ready for the busy season?

I am a tad overwhelmed ( already) with all that needs to be done. But it is time to stay organized and be reasonable about what can be done each day. Today was a rest day exercise wise ;)

Ok, that is enough for now TaTa

Shellywoo-hoo!!! Way to rock it! You sure did kick some asphalt.

Think we’re all eager for the report. Hope the ride home solo wasn’t too bad.

Carole—thanks so much for the congratulatory bouquet! Good of DSis to show up. And even better that you successfully kept the peace. It's hard to hold back sometimes. How was your 18 in the chilly weather? Watched some more of American Gangster today but still haven’t managed to catch the whole thing.

Christine—thank you, thank you, thank you! J Yes, I have been celebrating this weekend! Absolutely! J DD15’s BF sounds like a keeper. I see his point about the Super Collider. Hope you had a great ride or hike. Thanks for the card list!

Linda—I hope you had a great weekend. The Sunday scramble after a weekend away can be tough. Thank you! I am truly over the moon as I’ve never worked harder for anything in my life.

Gloria—thank you again! It’s a HUGE relief to have passed…Our thermostats are controlled in a separate building, too. How exciting—new gear! Can’t wait to hear about your workout with the vest. I’ve only used it on the EXT so far, but I really liked the added challenge. The Muskie lures sound like an excellent choice for DH since he isn’t inclined to splurge on himself.

Judy—thank you. Hope you get everything done that you need to do. Breaking things in chunks is a good way to stay sane. But you seem like a highly organized individual who handles a big load with ease.

My workout plans this morning were derailed by a migraine. Dangit. There’s never a good time for one of those, but I suppose it’s better to happen on a Sunday rather than on a workday. It took me outta commish for a good chunk of the day, and then I spent the afternoon at a meeting for the student travel group I’m working with. I’m still kinda queasy and light-headed, so I will have to make it a rest day.

Hi to the rest of the cheetahs! Hope you're enjoying your Sunday.

:Dhello everyone! Well, a marathon PR for the crazy cheetah:D It was only by 3 minutes approx, but HEY, I'll take it!;) To be honest I really wasn't sure at all I could do it. I've definitely been in better shape... this crazy move year has taken it's toll on me and I've been feeling off, but the cheetah spirit carried me through:):):):):):)

My chip time was very different from the gun time. The race started in waves and I was in the third one---didn't cross the start line until a good 15 minutes or so. It was COLD:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Did I emphasize that enough??? LOL. Well, in Vegas they played Viva Las Vegas at the start. Can you guess what was playing in Philly? The Rocky theme of course! It took about 5 miles of running before I began to feel my feet. Thank God for DHs handwarmers he gave me ... otherwise my fingers would have been in a world of hurt... even with the flannel gloves!

The course was very diverse.... I think it was well laid out and you really get a taste of Philly! Some upgrades but nothing too bad. I think I paced this one pretty well. I was keeping up a pretty decent 10:00 pace thru most of it. Started feeling a tad fatigued around mile23..... okay, okay.... I was feeling ALOT fatigued!! It really hit me the last mile and even running thru the cheering crowds at the end didn't manage to energize me.

No I did not run up the Rocky steps after finishing!!!! So much for being the iron cheetah (LOL) Crazy yes, but definitely made of flesh and bone!

At the end of the race, instead of giving out bagels they gave soft pretzels of course... it's Philly!

Posh- ya kept tabs on me!!!! Awww gee!

One curious thing. My garmin time was a little over 4:27 but the distance read 26.5 miles! That's quite a discrepency! I'm sure they have the course plotted correctly but usually my garmin is more accurate then that! Anyway, it was nice to crack that 4:30 hurdle:D

Thanks to all you awesome cheetahs for your support! It means SO MUCH!!!

Cathy- Congratulations again.... YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More tomorrow.... I'm a little beat now;)

To Cathy and Shelly. Congrats to both of you. I haven't been around much but I'm still keeping my eye on all of you. Much deserved congratulations.

Happy Anniversay Christine
