::: • CHEETAHS • ::: dashing thru the miles (Tues.)

Shelly! I missed you in my personals earlier! Sorry about that! :( Glad to hear you are doing well-- I can totally relate on those last-minute Christmas projects! Still trying to get a few done myself! :)

Well, I just got home... met DH for lunch & had a wonderful time. Then had a run in at a parking lot with a lady who was clearly having a bad day. Augggh... What is it about this time of year that makes people so angry sometimes? Anyway, I'm over it now, but it bugs me when my kids have to see that kind of behavior. Blogged about it today, and the writing always helps. :) (http://allerhaut.blogspot.com if yer interested... if not, no biggie! I'm actually a little self conscious about sharing my writing...) :)

I'm off to get Timesaver #3 in today off the BB series. Too few hours in the day for a long workout.

Still thinking of you Jackie-- hope all is well with your BIL.

JACKIE!!!! My goodness! That is absolutely horrible! I don't know what the problem with people is today! Why did they have to shoot him?! I'm praying that he makes a full recovery. {{{{HUGS}}}} my thoughts and heart go out to you and your family.

Speaking of nasty people - if you use Internet Explorer, you may want to consider switching to a different browser for a while. I guess they found a security hole that allows hackers to gain possession of your computer and have full access to any passwords and any other information you put it. Right now, they are saying that the theft has been limited to gamers, but with the announcement of it and the fact that Microsoft does not have a fix for it, it will become more widespread. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28258894/ There is supposed to be a fix on Wed. We'll see. I'm using Mozilla Firefox (www.mozilla.com). It's free and it's a good one.

Jackie - OMG! I am so sorry about your BIL! He is definitely in my prayers. You are right, the world is absolutely cruel :( I hope and pray he is okay. You asked if I went out fast with everyone else….I guess I went out faster than I usually do, but it still took me around a mile to feel good, even though I warmed up. :( The next one is January 8. It is a 5 miler.

Laura - I am sure you will do well on your 8 next week! Are you excited? I was always excited when the time came to do a new distance! J It is so cool to hear about the culture in Uganda! That is amazing that they consider eggs currency! I love to try new vegetarian recipes and food! I am not vegetarian, either, but I actually like the vegetarian food better than non! I just have such a hard time readily finding it in my hectic schedule! :(

Brighton - Oh my gosh! Sounds like your weather is horrible! I am glad your DH made it back safely! Way to go on those 6.4 miles at a good clip! Glad you are feeling better! Yes, my Christmas present is truly special to me and brings back tons of memories every time I pass her! "She" gives me a warm "safe" feeling! :)

Wendy - I guess I didn’t use them because right around the time I got the workouts, it was right in the middle of marathon training. I put them on the back burner, and just can’t bring myself to do them.. Not that I didn’t enjoy them….I truly did! I have “KettleBell Iron Core Stength, Vol. 1 &2, The Art of Strength, Providence, Extreme Kettlebell with Keith Weber and all of the Kettlenetics. Let me know how you like them after a little while! I guess my main thing was the marathon training and the fact that I just couldn’t stand my lower body being that sore! ;)

Shelly - Great job on your run and BC combo and Amy’s KB! I am glad you feel like you are catching up! I have always hated 5k’s! I can never start fast enough. I have always trained for longer, slower distances, so I could never run “fast” L I was a lot more pleased with this one, though. Now, maybe I can do better with them and not be as afraid of them! Everyone laughs at me because 5k’s scare me more that the marathon did! We have had a lot of rain/snow mix the past couple of days. I agree….the snow is pretty if you don’t have to drive in it!

Well, gotta go bring Madison in. She is outside and it is raining, and she does not like that at all! ;) Hope everyone has a great night!

Linda

Christine - Oh no! This stupid computer that we got a few months ago will not let me do any updates! So when there is a fix, more than likely I won't be able to even do it! The thing keeps saying "update failed", blah, blah, blah. I wonder why? Any suggestions? What is this world coming to????? :( :(

Christine: Thanks for the heads up! I downloaded Firefox lickety split! Better to be safe then sorry! So the assumption is that if I don't use Internet Explorer until microsoft has the fix then I will be safe, correct?

Linda: I did an all bell rotation for a month or so when I first got them and LOVED it! The only downside is that when I went back to traditional lifting I did notice a little loss of strength but I got that back pretty quickly so no biggie. I was also spoiled by the ease of use of kb work outs in that no extra equipment is necessary! It was hard to bring myself to pull out all of the equipment needed for the traditional work outs when I first went back to them. LOL I am planning on starting a bell rotation as soon as I finish up the GRFS rotation I am doing now (I have one more week left). Care to join me? :)

Shelly: Glad you can enjoy the snow with out having to actually GO OUT IN IT! That's the best way IMO!;) I can't say I have a fave kettlebell work out right now. I like them all for different reasons TBH. :) Glad you were able to get alot of the Christmas shopping out of the way recently. It's a great feeling to get it done. We have a bit more to do. Hopefully it will all be done (with the exception of eachother) by tmrw night.

Cathy: So what were you chaperoning tonight? I love the movie Christmas Vacation! Meet the Parents is also a favorite. I consider it a Christmas movie. I laugh so hard when I watch that one, no matter how many times I have seen it. When is your last day?

Wendy: Looking forward to a cyber training partner. :) My friend who is running the marathon too lives down state and she is training with a TNT group or something like that. I don't have the time to drive down there to be a part of the group. It is just too far. I will have to be strong and go it alone. That's ok, that is how I started running in the first place.

Judy: Your menu looks fantastic! It is a nice memory that I have from my childhood watching that movie.

Wendi: Thank you for the card. :) It is wicked cold out there. Tomorrow will be almost 30 though, so thats good. :) I think I have caught Dh's cold. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Christine: I hope you had a nice rest day today! So you get time off of work around the holidays too? Your meaningful gift memory is wonderful. :)

Carole: WELCOME BACK! :) Sounds like a really nice time! Can't beat favorite Mexican food! Mmmmm!

Linda: Well, it didn't get that cold last night I don't think. Maybe with the windchill. Brrr is right! Wyoming is so pretty, but not when it is that cold! DH took a hunting trip in North Dakota with his brother and dad one winter and it was nasty cold like that. There aren't a lot of trees for wind breaking out there. Great workout today! :)

Laura: Thank you so much for sharing information about the culture in Africa. I find it so interesting. :) I did have a nice day yesterday. Cleaned quite a bit, which is good. Sounds like some good workouts lately!

Brighton: Glad your DH decided to turn around! I bought the Pollan book for myself too and just started reading it. YIKES! I am glad you are feeling better! It didn't turn out to be that cold last night. Cold enough though!

Jackie: Oh dear, I am sorry about your BIL. :( How terrible. That is all I can say. I'm sorry and I will be thinking and praying for him. You are welcome for the card.

Shelly: Good to see you again. :) You are doing great keeping up with everything!

Did 6 miles this morning. Needed that. Of course I was on the tm. Our road is sheer ice. I made it okay to work, just took it as slow as possible. Winter is a beast right now. The kids couldn't even go out to recess because it was so cold.

Hi to Karen, Posh and anyone else I missed. :)

Most meaningful gift: That is a hard one. My SIL and BIL drove me out to Montana two years ago. DH does not get along with him at all. He is a bit much. We did have a great trip. When we got to Livingston, DH took the day off work the next day and we all drove around in the Boulder river area and had a picnic lunch. Even though Dh's brother drives him crazy, we showed them the best sites and had a great time. For Christmas the next year we were given a framed picture of DH and I on the river from our day trip. It is so pretty and I cherish it.

Wendy - yes you will be safe if you don't use Internet Explorer until the patch is in place. You probably will not be affected, but we just don't know. As you said, better safe than sorry.

I'll be sure to catch up with the rest of the Cheetahs in the AM. I don't know where my day went. I did get CC#7 (TG!) first thing this AM. I used the EXT/spin bike. That was great! Thanks Linda for recommending it.

Jackie ~ my heart goes out to you!!! ((HUGS)) I can't believe this happened to my bil, well not the robbing part. He was shot in front of his house as well. :( We still don't know why!?! They were having a block party. It was all over the Orlando news. :(http://www.wesh.com/news/10645469/detail.html I hope that they got the people who did this. They still haven't for my bil. Thank God, your bil is OK! I will definitely keep him, as well as the whole family, in my thoughts and prayers. Just so unbelievable!!

It's way past my bedtime, but I wanted to post to Jackie.

**See** ya tomorrow.

Have to add: Do be careful out there ladies. A guy was doing some work here today and he told me his sister was just mugged in Chicago this past weekend. She's lucky she got away. I'll spare the details. He did get her purse though. A nearby mall has had a lot of thefts, muggings, beating, etc. What the heck is going on?!?! Maybe we need some self defense classes??? :(
