    Afterburn+Triset Xpress

I did the Afterburn premix with one time through each drill instead of two (a good way to ease into this program) followed by the bonus step routine that is on the Cardio Supersets and Low Impact Challenge disks (the same 21 minute segment is on both disks).

So what do you think of the music?

I agree with hiho322. The "music" in LIS doesn't inspire me. Yesterday just for fun I did IMAX2, which has terrific music (recognizable upbeat tunes that provide motivation for me) and is perhaps my favorite Cathe workout. As I neared the end of the workout, I wondered how I put up with the...

    Low Impact Challenge-Learning Curve?

I too have had a lot of difficulty learning the choreography in Low Impact Challenge, more so than Low Max but not as much as Step Moves. I've almost got the combination of all 4 combos down after doing it on 6 separate days, with a lot of rewinding and repetition on the earliest days. It's...

    What are your substitutes for....

Shot glasses are a great idea. How about bite-sized pieces of Halloween candy?

    What are your substitutes for....

I used 1 lb weights. People have been very creative in their substitutes. I like NinjaMom's ping pong balls, although I imagine that they might tend to roll away.

    Afterburn

It occurs to me that the crack in your S&G disk might be a manufacturing defect in which case I'm sure you could get a replacement at no charge from Customer Service. You should be able to step on the side of the disk without cracking it since your heel is supposed to hang over the edge. I...

    Afterburn

I spent the past 3 days trying to learn Low Impact Challenge and have made great progress, finally "getting" the transitions between the shortened segments when Cathe put the combos together. I did a lot of rewinding and used the "slow" button on my remote, although you lose the audio when you...

I wondered if the same thing might happen to me because USPS is notorious about misdelivering mail in my neighborhood. One day my next door neighbor told me that he inadvertently paid my phone bill, which was delivered to him (he didn't notice until his own phone bill arrived a week or two...

Which workouts have you done so far?

I spent the past 2 days learning Low Impact Challenge (I needed to rewind and repeat the most complex moves multiple times to get them down). I encountered an unanticipated problem with flooring in one place in the Bonus Step Routine (which also is included with Cardio Supersets) where you use...

    Loved Low Impact Step Challenge!

I previewed the program before trying to do it today and I still had trouble picking up some of the fast and/or turning steps. I found that it helps to use the "slow" button on the remote, although you don't get the audio when you do.

    What is Imax?

I just did IMAX yesterday while eagerly awaiting delivery of the new Low Impact Series. It has "staying power" for me.

shoes good for high impact aerobics

I bought the Ryka Assist 2 shoes used in Cathe's Intensity DVD. Although they fit well and required no break-in period, I cannot recommend them for high-impact activity because I don't think they provide much cushioning.

    Imax 2

Same for me. It took me awhile to work up to doing IMAX2 because of the cardiovascular challenge, and I still modify portions to reduce the impact without compromising the cardiovascular benefit. It's still a tough workout but I don't have a dread factor. I enjoy the music. The sumos in...

Excited for the New Low Impact Series!

DixieGirl, my birthday is coming up soon too. Like you I am eagerly awaiting the new DVDs, and I think of them as a birthday present. That says something about us! But seriously, it will be a treat to have the new workouts.

    "The Help" purchased today

I read and enjoyed the book. I haven't seen the movie yet but I plan to. I wouldn't be deterred by a movie trailer that makes the movie look like a comedy because I've seen other trailers that misrepresented the movie, probably because they are designed first and foremost to lure people into...

    Good books?

I enjoyed Shanghai Girls by Lisa See (for a review, go to Book Review: 'Shanghai Girls' by Lisa See). The two best books that I've read over the past 2 years are Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay (Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay - Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists) and Unbroken: A World War...

    Runners.....ever fall?

I'm so sorry to hear about your broken wrist, JeanneMarie. I've tripped on my step but never fallen (yet). I've become increasingly skittish about some of the moves Cathe makes over the step because I am clumsy enough to trip and fall. I've been modifying the trickiest moves to reduce the...

    Runners.....ever fall?

That was a nasty fall, Worknprogress. Having wounds on your face and upper body must be uncomfortable while sleeping. I hope the doctor advised you on how to avoid scarring on your face (my guess is putting ointment or cream on the wound to keep it moist whle healing might help). I hope you...

Important question for experienced Cathletes and Roadtrippers

I've been living vicariously through the postings about the Disney road trip. It sounds as though it was a lot of fun. It's particularly heartening to read the encouraging postings in response to Kate's concerns because attending alone and with physical limitations could be daunting. The...
