    Lower body question

I know this is kind of late to reply, but I have two step benches (Reebok step) that I just use both sets of risers so they are 4 high. That's good enough for me since I'm short anyway. The chair does sound scary!!!;-)

    body changes and approaching 40

You're right Laura. If we didn't keep doing what we do, we would look REALLY BAD! And, it doesn't take long to put the pounds back on! Good luck and keep plugging!}(

    body changes and approaching 40

Hi Laura - yes I was referring to weight training. I see you mentioned you didn't want your legs to get bigger. I got skinny legs (my problem is in my middle!!) So, I hope the advice you are getting from all of us will work. I guess some people gain in legs when weight training - Cathe sure...

    body changes and approaching 40

The bootcamps are a very challenging workout cardio & strength, but I personally tend to go a little easy on weights becuz I need to last the whole 60 minutes, so I would say that. Your cardio looks really good. I wasn't getting the results with only 45 minutes so I get up earlier in the...

    body changes and approaching 40

Not Cathe, and you might want to try this on other forums... looks to me like your workouts are almost all cardio which is great, but you do need the strength training. I too am short 5'2" and a few extra lbs. don't look good at all. I've beefed up my strength training twice per week, and...

    Slow & Heavy Shoulders

Hi - Can you clarify for me if the fewer reps/fewer sets calls for heavier weights to train for strength not size? I would LOVE to see my arms shrink (get more toned). Thanks for info!:-)

Cathe, is it possible to build a butt?

I think the high step is the way to go. I'm going to focus more on that and the glute squeezes (at night watching t.v.). My daughter makes fun of my flat butt! So, here's hoping to achieve a rounded butt!! ha ha. I'm bumming cuz I have a chest cold - feel like a sumo wrestler is sitting on...

Lower Abs pooching out from overwork? Help?

I think I agree with the increased weight training to help get rid of the "fat" pooch, not the "overworked pooch". And, I also think that your abs definitely get a great workout when you lift heavier weights - upper or body because you usually tighten everything anyway to support the lifting...

    I did it!!!!

You are too funny! I have quite a few myself. Enjoy the variety - I'm still finding premixes that I haven't had time for! Burn those calories!! }(

Gym Style vs. Slow and Heavy

Hi Jennifer, I like the Pyramid series, as well as Cathe's timesavings premixes. This is a nice way to gradually get to a heavier weight. That's why I'm tempted to go to the gym style for more definition. Hope it wont make me big in the arms!

Gym Style vs. Slow and Heavy

Thanks everyone - that was quick! You have confirmed that I would prefer the gym style series first. I think the extreme concentration for the slow & heavy may be "not as fun" as the gym style. - maybe some day!! :9

Gym Style vs. Slow and Heavy

I am an avid Cathe exerciser and have purchased all the new DVDs except the gym style and slow and heavy. My question is once I can justify buying some more DVDs, which do you recommend. I see such great reviews that I'm torn. I'm leaning toward the gym style just because "slow and heavy'...

I need a kick in the patooty!!

Good post! Hope today you were able to re-commit yourself. You know you ALWAYS feel better after you've actually completed the workout! The other day I was so exhausted from not sleeping well that I had a hard time doing one of Cathe's workouts (Lowmax). I made it to the middle of Interval...

    Wow....Butts&Guts

Thanks, I will try to concentrate more on working thru the heel. Also maybe try tilting the abs in and leaning back a little more will emphasize glutes. Even so, it's not like they didn't hurt anyway!!

    Chestwork to eliminate bra bulge?

RE: Under bra bulge I was interested in this question - I was trying on bras and finding all the bras would cut into the "fat" just in front of the armpit so first off I have been working harder on chest - pushups and chest flies. (I will also do the lat work too and love the kickbox stuff)...

Anyone not get doms from B&G

did B&G for the first time Friday (well, I did about 30 minutes - the standing leg work). OMG!!!! Today is the first day that I can walk DOWN stairs and not say "ouch" with every move!!! I could feel it coming half way through the workout. (I, too, didn't do all the reps on some of the...

    Wow....Butts&Guts

I agree - just did the entire workout (no bonus) on Tuesday and it was very hard! I was reading alot of posts whining about how hard the workout was and I hadnt done it too much (concentrated on LIC and other new workouts!) and now I can agree whole heartedly about the intensity. One good...

Athletic Hubby tries a Cathe DVD!!

Loved these posts! I think my husband doesn't DARE to do Cathe. He appreciates what Cathe does and looks like, and me TOO for that matter. He KNOWS I work my butt of all the time! Meanwhile, he does treadmill when he has time. (He's not overweight anyway) But my plan is to have the muscle...
