    Daily Deal STS squat Rack

I've been putting off my preorder all month, just hoping that an awesome daily deal would come along so I could combine the two. The squat rack routine did it for me!

    The ASIC's thread

I remember that thread! The original poster was loving the Asics Gel Intensity 2. Personally, I have the first Asics Gel Intensity and I love them, so I'm sure the 2s are also great. They are cross-trainers with fantastic support and cushioning for super high-impact workouts. I used to wear only...

    Women and Weights--times are changing

My mom is only in her early 60s and she's very supportive and proud of my weightlifting and other workout habits. She is definitely the one who inspired me to start exercising. She has worked out to Kathy Smith videos for as long as I can remember and frequently goes hiking or on long, fast...

    Psst - Can we talk...panties?

I would also like to hear some opinions on this! I have some ExOfficio panties that I know a lot of people love for exercise and traveling. They have amazing wicking powers and dry almost instantly, but they still leave a panty line under my fitted workout pants. Is there any comfy panty that...

    Training for Mud Run

I've done a few mud runs, so while you're waiting for Cathe's input I thought I would put in my two cents. First of all, run! Your race is five miles long, but it will feel longer since you will be slowed down by so many obstacles. So run farther than five miles two or three times a week at a...

    Slanted Risers -- availability??

I've been keeping half an eye on them in Cathe's shop and they haven't been available for many months. If you get tired of waiting, there are some in stock on Amazon. Amazon.com: SPRI Slanted Riser for use with the Original Club Step: Sports & Outdoors

unable to sign in the work our manager

I had the same problem as well. However, I discovered that I can get into my workout manager by logging into the forums and then clicking the workout manager link in the black menu bar at the top of the page. It's roundabout, but at least it works!

    Your Next DVD

Awesome! I'd like to second the comment that the equipment needed information bars at the beginning of each section in CrossFire and To The Max are really helpful and I hope to see them in the new series. Also, I love cardio workouts that maintain the crazy intensity of CF, TTM, Afterburn...

    WATER???

It really depends on where you are. I use a Pur Water Filter Pitcher. It's very simple to use and relatively inexpensive, but it works well.

What state already received their DVD's

I received mine via USPS today in Washington state (not DC). I just finished To The Max. Whoo, I am sweaty and proud that I made it through! I really liked the long, thorough warm-up. Oh, and I really appreciate the information boxes that pop up at the beginning of each segment that list all of...

    A note to say Thanks!

I'm clearly not Cathe, but I wanted to say that your story is fantastic and inspiring, Elizabeth! Congratulations on turning your health around. I suggest you submit it to be spotlighted in Cathe's newsletter. It sounds to me like you've got a good shot of having your story selected and win a...

    New DVDs: HiiT ?

I'll give it a shot. HiiT is, of course, entirely HiiT. It has 3 half-hour workouts, 30/30, 40/20, and Pyramid. Intensity has a 30-minute step section followed by two HiiT sections (one high and one low impact). You will still get a great workout by doing only the step section if you want...

    Who Likes Obstacle Courses?

Audryb, how is cool is building your own course! That looks like fun. I'd love to try a Metro Dash sometime, but it doesn't look like they have any on the West coast yet. jdimascio, I'm not sure if I've got the stamina for 6 miles yet! I slacked off and didn't run all winter or spring. At...

    Who Likes Obstacle Courses?

I was never a fan of running until a friend introduced me to the wonderful world of mud runs and obstacle courses. Climbing walls, monkey bars, and fire jumps? Yes please! I'll run if it means I get to do all that other awesome stuff! So far I have participated in 3 races: Survivor Mud Run...

    CrossFire - WOW!

I know! Those plie jacks with the blue band look exhausting. I have trouble doing a full set of those even without a band. Here's the Youtube link for those who haven't seen the clip yet: Cathe Friedrich's CrossFire Workout - YouTube

Weighted Vest ~ What is the weight?

Logically since the vest is 12 - 20 lbs, that means that without any of the extra weights added the vest alone weighs 12 lbs. I'm not sure how many sandbags there are, but all of the sandbags must add up to that missing 8lbs. So if there are eight sandbags, they each weigh one pound.

Kathy Smith, Ageless Energy, on PBS

I grew up watching my mother do Kathy Smith workouts, and they are the first ones I tried when I was in college before I stumbled upon Cathe. I have fond memories of those 80's pink leotards and crazy background sets. think it's great that she's still going strong!
