How much cardio do you need?

Thanks ashaw. I was looking at maybe hiring an elliptical but there seems to be mixed reviews on whether an elliptical is OK for hip bursitis. Some reviews I've seen have indicated it can make it worse. Also, I just can't fit one anywhere in my house, which also rules out a recumbent bike or...

    Lower Body 1 errors

Attention Forum Admin: The User Guide for Lower Body 1 is missing the chapter for static side lunges, should be after chapter 16 Side Lunge R/L # 2. Also, in the workout blender the premixes for Lower Body 1 Express 1 and Express 2 are the same, they are both Express 2, i.e. 2 sets max.

How much cardio do you need?

Typically, I would do 2 cardio workouts a week if I was focused on heavy weight training and 1 cardio workout if I was doing more metabolic/endurance weightlifting workouts, e.g. PHA, as I found that these types of workouts gave me a good cardio workout too. I've had to cut back on cardio over...

    Revisiting Stretch Max

I have 2 tennis balls in a tied off sock that I sometimes use on my back. My spine goes between the balls so I can get the muscles on either side. I have lots of other items for massaging too including massage sticks, spiky balls, a percussion massager and a massage cushion. I have Yamuna...

    Revisiting Stretch Max

You can do foam roller workouts substituting other equipment, depending on the exercise. You can use a mini ball for rolling out the muscles, which you can inflate or deflate to control how hard it is. This is a good option if your muscles are really sore, and you're not used to foam rolling...

    Cathe's Balance Disc

I have a slide board :) I haven't used it in ages. I also have 2 Pilates rings; one is a cheap version that doesn't have much tension and I'm afraid I will break it if I squeeze it too hard. Then I bought a more expensive one with good, heavy tension.

Agree. A print friendly version would be great.

STS 2.0 Blender Workouts are Freezing Between Chapters

I also get freezing problems, but I also get them with non-STS 2.0 workouts I have blended. Usually, it freezes once or twice but I made a blended yoga workout using Yoga Max, Yoga Relax and Perfect 30 Yoga and Mobility and it kept freezing on me. But it doesn't happen all the time, sometimes...

    Cathe's Balance Disc

I've mostly used a disc like this for rehab, strengthening my abs after a back injury. I don't fully inflate it. I haven't used it for workouts.

I've also gone paperless with bills and statements as they charge extra if you want a paper copy. I get so little post delivered to my mailbox now that I had birds trying to nest in it. :D I suddenly had leaves and twigs appearing in my mailbox and then spotted these two birds flying in and out...

Double arm Scarecrows in Upper Body 2

This happens to me too. I did the Express 1 premix of Supersets Total Body the other day and it froze about halfway during the biceps/triceps set and again during the incline fly/underhand barbell row set. I just carried on with the set while it was frozen as I knew we were doing 8 reps of...

Unhappy with downloadable "free" user's guide

The free online guide works for me. Shipping DVDs from America to New Zealand became problematic with Covid. The last series I had shipped, Perfect 30, took a month to get here. Since then, I have subscribed to OnDemand and I'm loving the workout blender. I also don't print out the whole...

    STS 2.0 Super Sets

I did the Upper Body & Calves premix of this one yesterday. It was a good workout, nicely paced, with the rests in between. I like that I can use the rest break to sort out my weights for the next round. I had some issues with grip strength, especially on the shrugs and calves, even with...

    Cathe, stop joking! It's dangerous!

I laugh when I'm counting reps in time with Cathe and we've done 12 reps and she does an extra one. Gotta love them bonus reps.:D

No cardio in STS 2 rotations - discussion :)

It was common amongst my colleagues to move into Sales roles after about 2-3 years in a laboratory role. I was never interested in sales and stayed working in laboratories for 8 years before I became sensitized to the chemicals and had to stop working with them. Now I try to protect others...

    Regarding STS2.0 Abs

I actually have my mini ball a bit deflated. We use them that way in the Pilates studio I go to. We use mini balls of various sizes and various levels of inflation. They are easier to grip and are less likely to roll out from under you. You just can't use them for bouncing.

No cardio in STS 2 rotations - discussion :)

So did I (industrial chemist) and I like experimenting too :) I started reacting to some of the chemicals and had to change career paths, so I went into Health and Safety but specializing in chemical safety. I'm not following a set rotation at the moment as I have hip bursitis in my right hip...

    Regarding STS2.0 Abs

I did the Standing Metabolic and Standing & Floor together and it's a good ab workout. Pulling the weight plate back in on the mermaids really got my abs. Then the planks finished them off.

I broke down today and bought the STS Dip/Pullup Bars

It was like that for me too. I used to go every 8 weeks until lock down. Then I had to cut my own fringe and realised I could actually do this and not mess it up. Now I only go to get it cut about 2-3 x per year and just cut my fringe between visits.

    Tri-Sets Total Body- STS2.0

I did the express upper body premix of this one yesterday. I found this deceptively challenging. While you are only doing 8 reps per exercise, you do them back-to-back for the body part with no rest until the end of the group. I always use slightly lighter weights when doing a workout for the...
