Wow! Very sore after LIHI Back shoulder biceps

I have done this LIHI about 6 other times, but on most, did not do finishers or just did two muscle groups of the three. Two days ago, I completed the entire LIHIBSB with finishers and tried to do the weights to failure. I was incredibly sore afterwards! The whole ribcage, abs, chest and...

    Should I even attempt RWH?

I agree with everyone above! I think you may find that the shorter intense workouts energize you! There are many mornings, especially now that it is so dark w time change, I don't want to drag myself out of bed before work. The shorter workouts have been an incentive, but then feeling charged...

I Love Hiit Circuit Lower Body!

For me, the lower body circuit is the most difficult one yet! I have to use a 6 in step and it is still murder for me. Legs feel like noodles afterwards. I love it!

Ripped w/ HiiT... not hard enough ;(

Sorry, I agree, you are just wrong saying this series is easier. When I first saw this, I couldn't believe it. Of course it you mix RWH with long endurance workouts, you are not going to be able to give the full intensity to the HiiT workouts and you need to understand that. This series is...

Whats the purpose of 2 days off

I don't like 2 rest days either, but would add in a low impact day or days :-) usually something more steady state (just my idea, as all high intensity is tough for me). So these are like active recovery days if you ask me! I also really like spin classes, either one of Cathe's or Spinervals...

    Step Recommendations

From the older workouts, I like Step Fit, Cardio and Wts (which is very fun step), agree with Nathalie about all of the Imax 1,2 , and 3, and the step section of Maximum Intensity Cardio. Easier choreography, sometimes takes one time through but usually no more to learn.

Does anyone else have a fear of jumping on the step?

I also think jumping up is scary and often use a lower step. But I have tripped too, usually when I am starting to get tired and don't pay attention to clearing my feet! I agree with Nancy, it definitely makes you more careful the next time you try. But it also makes me paranoid too...

New member, health issues...where to start??

I am a physical therapist, work with a lot of post surgical spine, and believe that Cathe's low impact workouts and STS are both spine safe and could be really beneficial. If you were not already instructed in segmental stabilization training for specific spine support, you may find that a...

Intense Jogging May Shorten Life Span...Thoughts?

I completely agree with maddiesmum, what a crock! I think the TV news stations get desperate for news items that will grab attention. So maybe they found a report that high intensity jogging while being chased by an angry bear can shorten your lifespan, and just left out the details. There...

What is an "Active Recovery Week" in STS?

I agree, you definitely still work out during active recovery week, some lower intensity can give you a variation. I found kickboxing workouts, and steady state cardio like step, running, or spinning could make a change from all of the high intensity interval training.

    A comparison of Cathe's 3 cycling workouts

Spin bike My spin bike is not a fancy one, but it does have a good fly wheel. The brand is Marcy, and we got it at Academy (sporting goods store). We didn't spend lots because I didn't know how much I would like the workouts. It has held up well, but one thing I wish it had (and it doesn't)...

    A comparison of Cathe's 3 cycling workouts

In my rotation this month, I did Cycle Max for the first time in awhile, and thought about how much I really like all 3 of these cycle workouts and how different they are from each other. I started spinning for the first time with Cycle Max a little more than 2 years ago, and found these...

    Cathe calendar

great calendar this year I just received mine this week, and love the historical pictures along with the recent ones. The calendar is always a great motivational tool to me, and I still love to use the stickers. But this year, there are pictures from Cathe's early days and it is a trip down...

Party Rockin Step 1 - Cathe is brilliant!

starting to love both workouts After trying these the first few times, I felt a little better about PR2 than PR1, but didn't really have these among my first choice workouts. Now I have had a chance to learn both (and I am not a coordinated person), they are great fun to me and very...

    Rockout Knockout says it all!

I have done this workout 4 times now. The first two times I was lost learning some of the routines and did not think the workout was very intense. Now I know the routines and have to say that this is the most continuously intense kickbox workout that Cathe has done for me anyway. Plus it is...
