    Can you?

    I try not to compare my weight abilities to anyone else's because I'm just trying to get my body in better shape. I used to feel bad when my weights weren't as high as Cathe's and now I grab mine guilt free! Same with reps. But I do get stronger and that makes me happy!

    Choosing a new workout

    I love the HiiT from Intensity. It's tough and has a fun step routine (plus great music!) I still haven't tried my Crossfire, but I know my friends love it!

    Weight work 3 times a week?

    I usually do weight work 3x a week, too. It seems to be the optimum for me in feeling and looking good plus in being strong enough to do my step and HiiT workouts. Plus I love weight work!

    If he's going to be using it a lot, I'd look for a good used Cuisinart on ebay. I burned up the motors on 3 different food processors within a year (two were Black and Decker and once was by Hamilton Beach) -- B&D replaced the first one I bought at Target, but then the replacement burned up...

    Two Equipment Questions

    I found Cathe's weighted vest for less than 1/2 the price at Ross about a year ago. I don't know if they are still selling, but it was a great deal! I'd like to get some slanted risers, too. I still just slant the step on my regular ones and put weights at the bottom to keep it from slipping.

    What do you do to come back from illness?

    I start out with yoga, then weights, then cardio. Cardio at first, is usually too much for me. But I have a friend who has been combining the really great warm-ups from Xtrain for a total low impact, low intensity workout. I think I may try that next time I'm coming off an illness!

    Kale Chips make me HUNGRY!!

    My guess is the salt. Salt, sugar and starchy foods (grains and starchy vegetables) all turn me into an eating maniac. If I can keep myself from those, I can control my eating. Try munching on fruits and veggies instead and getting your kale in green smoothies.
