If he's going to be using it a lot, I'd look for a good used Cuisinart on ebay. I burned up the motors on 3 different food processors within a year (two were Black and Decker and once was by Hamilton Beach) -- B&D replaced the first one I bought at Target, but then the replacement burned up, too. I didn't want to spend big money on a Cuisinart either, then saw one in my mom's pantry that she never used (it's probably from the 1980's). She told me I could take it and I've used it religiously for about 7 years since. They are definitely the best. But if you're trying to save money and don't have someone with an old one to spare, look on Craigslist or ebay. It will be worth it!
