New Ryka shoes for New workouts?

Go to Ryka.com and you can look them up by style The white with pink in the pic on the forum is the influence. I have it in black with blue trim--love it! Of course I use and orthodic insert in all my athletic shoes since I have a high arch and need additional support in that area. I use...

Best Motivational compliment you have ever had ?

I was at the makeup counter waiting to pay and the woman next to me (probably 15-20 years younger than my 48 years) said, "I'm trying to get arms like yours." I nearly floated in mid air. Yep, I got me some guns--kiss, kiss! ;)

New Ryka shoes for New workouts?

You can get that at the Walking Co. under a their in-store brand but it's the same orthodic. They will have you stand on a machine to measure the pressure points (lack of PP) of your foot and that will guide you to the correct orthodic. Best, -M

    Star trac V-Bikes

studiocycles.com I purchased my spin bike and shoes and I was very pleased. Jim Wimmer is excellent and has a lot of integrity. Not the cheapest, but he gives better service and peace of mind. Good luck!

    Hard Strikes = foot pain?

I would caution people who move to 5 fingers. I hurt my achilles exercising in them and a friend who is a runner fractured her foot running in them. My friend's ortho told her that many people are injured running and exercising since their feet are not used to 'barefoot/minimal shoe' usage and...

Just to do it - or progress it

I keep track and try to add 1/2 to 1 lb to my weight for an exercise over time (for small muscle groups) or 2-5 lbs (for large muscle groups), slowly increasing weight so as not to injure myself. I enjoy the progress, BUT at some point I find I sort of max out. SO the question I've always...

Best Cathe DVDs for Small Workout Area

Also the HiiT DVD with three 30 minutes workouts is excellent as well. You don't need equipment for 30/30 or Pyramid worksouts, but you need a step for the 40/20.

New Ryka shoes for New workouts?

I bought the Influence by Ryka which is the newest shoe. Love it. So light and fits my fit well. I need a wide toe box but a show that is snug on the heel and this one does the trick. It's black with blue trim and laces. Just so you know, I buy orthodic inserts for all my athletic shoes as I...

    For Fellow Slow Runners

I ran my first marathon in 2010 and I remember thinking as I passed people, I saw them a while ago (or should I say the back of them). I'm into the slow and steady method as well. I'm into 5K and 10K races now, that marathon and the half marathon I completed training for the marathon are...

    Cathe Core Intensive Workouts?

I agree with ATompki1 that the STS ab workouts are unbelievable. And I too can't imagine doing more than 1. If I didn't do cardio I might be able to do 2, but after a workout it's doubtful. I love STS Abs weights and plates, because I always find it to be a real challenge. Frankly, they are...

    287 lbs starting weight

I was horrible at the movements when I first started and did as many suggested--I rewound the tape a couple of times. If I didn't get it after 3 rewinds, I just moved on then I would go back to those sections when the workout was over and practice a bit. Stick with it -- I believe it actually...

2nd tri- a whole new set of challenges

I wonder if the reason the Pregnancy workouts are so "tame" is because of the potential liability of those who produce the video; just a thought. I was one of those people who wasn't fit before I had my 2 kids but got fit afterwards, so those pregnancy videos probably would have fit me - LOL...

    30 Day Cardio/Strength Rotation!!!

This was the first rotation I completed after receiving the XTrain videos. I loved it, but it kicked my butt. I was drenched every single day. Some days I did add on the 100 rep challenges. My calves and legs really saw an increase in muscle and definition. I did add any cardio add on...
